This circuit leads you from forests to ponds, from moors to meadows on the paths where the panoramas on the hills of Toulx-Sainte-Croix in the North and the Monts d'Auvergne in the South-East follow one another.

With this circuit, you will hardly leave the village of Lépaud, whose name (paux: stakes) reminds a palisade, a fortification.

Between the Verneigette and the Petite Creuse, you will discover a landscape rich in streams and ponds but also in heritage with the chapel of Bellefaye, the pretty view of the adjacent castle which contains the legend of "Madame Daquin", the contemporary church of Verneiges or the toadstool of Bord Saint Georges.

You are in a part of the Gouzon Basin. Over time, men have improved and transformed this area of few resources to take advantage of it. You are going to see all these developments throughout your hike. You will cross the Brandes, a very particular environment, created in the 19th century, penetrate in the wood, Zone Natura 2000, and will go along the pond classified in National Natural Reserve.

This circuit allows to observe the outside of the castle called "Le Fressineau" and to cross the communal and departmental limits between "Combraille Creusoise" and "Combraille Bournonnaise"

Founded in the 12th century, the Commanderie de Lavaufranche bears witness to the history of the Hospitaller Order of Jerusalem and its establishment in France. This former religious and military complex, still retains important buildings today: a chapel with a painted complex of the late thirteenth century, a dovecote, a dwelling connecting the keep to the chapel and a home developing to the west dungeon, built by Commander Jean Grivel in the early fifteenth century. The primeur of the Commandery of Lavauvranche vis-à-vis that of Bourganeuf, its operation, its role in the rural and spiritual fabric and its castrale and religious architecture make it an essential element of the hospital establishment in the region. Transformed into a barn since the end of the 18th century, the chapel revealed its murals in the 1960s.

The tower built at the initiative of Father Aguillaume , is located at the highest point of the mountain ( 655 m), at the location " Brûladis " at the site of the Gallic turn signals. It was finished building in 1957. From the top of the building which are arranged orientation marks , visitors will enjoy a panoramic view around 100 km spanning seven departments , and making it one of the best views of France .

A church in two parts. The only Creusoise church of the Romanesque-Poitevin type, the building has the peculiarity of having its bell tower separated from the nave. An oddity due to the collapse, probably in the 16th century, of the three central spans. Other peculiarities of the church of this hilltop village where on a clear day there is an exceptional panorama: the three granite lions guarding the entrances; the re-use in a bell tower wall of a stone carved with the effigy of Mercury; the murals of the ambulatory, one of the oldest in Limousin .... During the summer of 2011, a small mobile "neo-renaissance" organ was made available in the church by organ builder Paul Aanneessens.
