This section of the ViaRhôna cycling trail goes along both terraced vineyards and orchards.The first part in Ardèche, as you come from Lyon, shows how the Rhône river supplies different farming land whether it be the culture of fruit trees, market gardening or vineyards where Saint-Joseph is King. When you arrive in Tournon sur Rhône follow the temporary trail signs to continue. At the dam south of Tournon sur Rhône the track heads to the village of Glun. Discover the unusual marsh around the village of la Roche de Glun with its fascinating, characteristic biodiversity. 1 - Sarras2 - Tournon sur Rhône3 - Glun4 - La Roche de Glun

Forget everything as you ride along the small roads of this hilly countryside Go down to the N7 and turn right onto “route de Serves”. 1. 1,4 km Turn left at the stop sign. 2. 1,5 km Turn right onto the N7 then first right going past the old railway station. 3. 2,1 km Turn right onto “route des belvédères” going through Puy-de-Serves. 4. 9,2 km Continue along “route des fruitiers”. 5. 10,5 km Turn left onto the D163 and follow the signs for “Drôme à Vélo” cycling route N°9 classified red for 10km. 6. 21,2 km Turn left onto “route des bois”. 7. 22,9 km Turn right then left at the stop sign and head towards Larnage. 8. 25,4 km Turn right onto “route des Côtes-de-Meyer”. 9. 25,8 km Turn right onto “route des Charrets”. 10. 27,1 km Turn left onto the tourist route. 11. 27,2 km Follow the signs “belvedere de Pierre Aiguille”, continue to Crozes. 12. 31 km Go through Crozes and then straight on. 13. 32,2 km Follow the small road on the right straight after the railway bridge. 14. 33,6 km Turn right at the stop sign and go through Gervans and straight on. 15. 35,5 km Once in Erôme turn left over the railway line and go down “la montée du pavé”. 16. 35,7 km Cross the N7 and continue on ”route de Saint-Antoine”. 17. 36,1 km Turn right onto “route de la plaine”. 18. 36,6 km Turn right onto “chemin des Clots”. 19. 37,1 km Cross the N7 again onto the “rue du cimetière".

As bucolic as you could wish, ride along the roads in the springtime where the orchards are in full bloom offering a firework display of colours and fragrancies. Mouchet pond is a well-chosen spot for a total connection with nature. Opposite the townhall follow the sign to Claveyson.1. 4,5 km Turn right onto “route de la plaine”. 2. 4,8 km At the next crossroads turn right onto the main road. 3. 6,5 km Turn right onto “chemin du Bois de l’âne” and pass through Eriens. 4. 8,7 km Turn right “route du Bois de l’âne”. 5. 9,5 km Turn left at the giveway sign onto the main road. 6. 10,6 km Head towards the pond then retrace your steps. 7. 12 km Continue on “chemin de Conring” then “route des Gerles”. 8. 13,4 km Turn right “chemin du château d’eau”. 9. 14,3 km Turn left at the T junction, at the corner of “chemin du Dournon”. 10. 16,6 km Turn right at the stop sign onto “route des Plots”. 11. 18,9 km Turn right at the giveway sign onto the main road and continue to Chantemerle.

A beautiful scenic route, with the first part overlooking the Vercors mountain range, takes you to the charming church of Saint-Andéol then downward towards Saint-Donat with a favourite stopping point. The final section offers a bucolic atmosphere as you travel through truffle oak trees and agricultural land. From the church car park follow the road going up to Saint-Andéol. 1. 3,7 km On entering Saint-Andéol turn right to Saint-Donat. 2. 5 km On the main road turn right towards Saint-Donat. 3. 10,3 km In Saint-Donat follow the signs to Saint-Vallier. 4. 14,2 km As you enter Bren turn left to Marsaz. 5. 16,2 km In Marsaz turn right onto the D114 and straight on for 4km. 6. 20,3 km Take the small road on the left (careful! No signs). 7. 20,6 km Turn left onto the main road opposite “chemin Lafay”. 8. 21,1 km Take the first road on the right “chemin de Bornarin”. 9. 23,1 km Turn right after passing the motorway. 10. 25 km Turn right onto “chemin de Lafay”. 11. 26,2 km Turn left onto the road “Pied Buisson”. 12. 27,1 km Turn right onto the main road taking you back to Bren.

Begin with a panoramic excursion through orchards and vineyards then let yourself flow with the river to finish. From the townhall square go towards the school then follow the sign to “route des belvédères”. 1. 3,3 km Turn right at “les Planards”, continue to the “belvedere des Méjeans”. 2. 1.8 km Retrace your steps and head for the “belvedere de Pierre Aiguille”. 3. 16,3 km Head for Hermitage chapel. 4. 17 km Walk down the pebbled path below the chapel then turn left onto the side-path further on becoming a road. 5. 18,1 km Keep turning right following directions to Tain l’Hermitage on the D241.  6. 20,6 km Head to the Tourist Office. 7. 21,1 km Continue on the edge of the Rhône river and cross the footbridge ”Marc Séguin”. On the other bank turn right onto the ViaRhôna heading north towards Arras-sur-Rhône. 8. 32,1 km Turn right onto the D800. 9. 36 km Turn left straight after thedam. 10. 37,1 km Turn right onto “route Saint-Antoine”. 11. 37,4 km Cross the N7, go over the railway line then turn right to Gervans.

From dells to the plateau. This long ramble gives access to many other walking trails. 1 – Gervans Start the walk from in front of the townhall. 2 - Rue du Ruisseau Go out of the village past the Fayolle winery (a good path along the stream)3 - Val de Gervans Turn left going uphill into the woods and walk for about 50 minutes. Once on the plateau go along a road for 20m. Cross through a wood (here you reach the peak of the circuit). Head for the road. 4 - Les Planards Turn right and follow the D630 for 250m then after the bend take the track on the right. You will come back to the road further on. 5 – Bijouin Bear left and head north down into a dell. 6 - Les Fosses After 15 minutes, cross the stream and head back up towards les Brégaudes, then la Mistrale (3h in total).7 - La Mistrale Go down on the chemin vieux to Erôme8 - Chemin Vieux Continue up to the orchards to Mont Rond 9 - Mont Rond A path through vines then a few zigzags take you to the hamlet les Blancs. Gervans is only 5 minutes from here.

Par l'intime et sauvage vallon de Gervans, montez sur le plateau des Planards offrant de magnifiques panoramas sur toute la vallée du Rhône au travers de cultures fruitières et de vignobles. 1 - GervansDu centre du village, empruntez la rue du ruisseau.2 - Rue du RuisseauContinuez en face par la route qui devient chemin à l'amorce du vallon de Gervans.3 - Val de Gervans - 190mS'orienter à gauche et remontez le vallon. En haut, débouchez sur une route (D630) ; suivez là à gauche.4 - Croix des PlanardsS'avancer à gauche vers le belvédère des Planards. Ignorez une route à droite, puis gagnez une fourche au niveau d'un calvaire (364m). L'itinéraire continue tout droit. Un peu plus bas, quittez la route pour suivre à gauche un chemin qui descend sur les coteaux et aboutit sur une petite route.5 - MontrondMontez à gauche pour déboucher au milieu des vignes. Serrez à gauche et aboutissez sur une route (260m). Montez à gauche, puis bifurquez à droite vers la cave viticole. Plus bas, quittez le goudron devant la cave en s'engageant sur le chemin des Grands Blancs. Sur le coteau, obliquez à droite et remontez avant de reprendre la descente vers Gervans par une rue. Au bout, tournez à gauche, puis encore à gauche, route des Blancs pour revenir au coeur du village.

A walk from Crozes to Gervans going past Méjeans viewpoint. A beautiful panorama overlooking the Rhône Valley, Tain l'Hermitage and the foothills of Ardèche. 1 - Church - 145 m Turn right up the steps to the top of the housing estate. Bear right until you get to the uphill road on the left. Turn on to the road and continue ahead until it becomes a wide, sandy track. After 30 minutes of walking uphill go past the houses coming to a road. 2 - Les Bruclas - 340m Turn left towards belvédère des Méjeans. At the following junction turn left and carry on to a small parking area then the viewpoint information board (road ends here). Here, on the left, a small track starts amongst bushes going down in undergrowth to a gully. Cross the stream and go up the other side taking you to a track cutting across in front of you. Turn left and carry on down past the cross on the right side then further down turn right onto a wider path. Go over the bridge then uphill to the junction where you turn left. 3 - Gervans - 140m Turn left and go downhill. 4 - Chemin des Vousères - 130mTake the path along the railway track. After just over 1km return to the village of Crozes by the road.

This wine cellar was created in 1960. According to traditional winemaking methods, the grapes are pressed using an old mechanical press. Work is carried out on the vines using horses. Tours of the vineyard, wine cellar and tastings are free. Direct sales all year round with prior booking.

The tower is the sole remaining part of an 11th century feudal castle destroyed during the wars of religion. The tower can be easily accessed during a pleasant walk. There remains a long wall which was part of the castle walls. Overlooking the village and the valley and built on a castle mound, the tower can be seen from afar and reminds us that it was there to keep watch over a commune at a time when looting was rife.

In 8km of Tain l' Hermitage, Serves sur Rhône is situated along the Rhône river and along the axis of the Roman road " Via Agrippa " that connected Lyon with Narbonne. The belvedere of Serves is near the ruins of the castle Delphinal " Castrum Cervia ".

This catholic church is part of the historical heritage of the Northern Drôme. This romanesque Church from the 11th and 12th centuries was built on a hill offering a nice view over the village.It shows a nice architectural unity and old sculpted capitals Discover inside the church a nice black virgin statue.

Considered one of the greatest modern stained glass windows in Europe. The church is open every day. This church was rebuilt in the 19th century. Inside, a 60m2 modern stained glass window by Franco Borga separates the nave from the former choir, whose roof collapsed in 1977.

Few chapels from this era remain intact on their orginal sites but as it was partly sunk into clay and isolated from urban pollution it is relatively well preserved. St Peter's recovers its former elegance 1000 years later, after 8 years of restoration work ending in 2008. Catholic services still take place sometimes in the chapel.

Of the belvedere des Méjeans on the top of Crozes-Hermitage, a wonderfull panorama over the valley of the Rhône, Tain l' Hermitage and the first foothills of Ardèche

Dating from the XII century. It was the craddle of the lords of Larnage which are then installed in Tain and was destroyed during the religious wars. Some ruins remain, among the vineyards and the hill called "Terres Blanches". The high walls and a part of the towers are still visible, on the granite block. The hill took the name "Terres Blanches" because of the Kaolin, still exploited nowadays. Deserted for many centuries, the building suffered the ravages of time . It also suffered the attack from quarry worker who wanted the granite rocks typical in Drôme.

Built in the 11th century, the chancel and crypt of this magnificent church are classified as historical monuments. Inside, the arches and Byzantine capitels stand side by side with elegant columns and coloured ceilings. Currently closed to the public. The crypt also contains beautiful Carolingian cpaitals and a 10th-century baptismal font.

For a long time, the tower perched on its earthen mound was the only visible vestige of the power of the Counts of Albon. In the 1990s, the work of archaeologists brought to light an unsuspected and exceptional medieval ensemble comprising a chapel, a palatial building and outbuildings. By building a castle of such importance, the Counts of Albon established their power over a territory that was to become, under their influence, the Dauphiné. We invite you to discover the history of the Château d'Albon and its construction, through archaeological discoveries!

The wildest one is the " Belvedere Pierre Aiguille", offering a preserved flora and where thousands of migrating birds are watched each year. In good weather we can see "le Mont Blanc". The main interest of the site lies in the great diversity of spectacular species that can be observed from Pierre-Aiguille: from waterbirds to passerines, from birds of prey to pigeons, not forgetting storks, cranes, kingbirds... A total of 135 species have already been identified on the site since monitoring began. In addition, the site's flora boasts a wealth of species unique to this bank of the river.

On the foundations of an old mill burned in 1971, the boss and his team have reconstructed this country inn where you will taste the farm products cooked in a wood oven. Since 1979, it's in a bucolic area in which you're welcomed to enjoy our menu. The campsite is a family campsite with a large paddling pool and more than 50 different species of trees where each location tell to you the charms of the Ardèche Verte. Open from 01 April to 30 September, the « Iserand – Calme et Nature » campsite is located between Ardèche and Drôme, in the heart of the green Ardèche. It has 60 pitches includind 8 comfortable chalets, 4 small chalets, 2 large Lodges tents, and some atypical wooden accommodation for the comfort of cyclists because we are 100 meters from Via Rhona. Nestled on the edge of a huge natural forest and designed as an arboretum, this terraced site overlooks the Rhone and benefits from the favorable climate to the famous “Saint joseph AOC” wine terroir. There is a family atmosphere, warm and peaceful for a stay of healing closer to nature. The campsite offers a large swimming pool, a padding pool and other activities to entertain young and old as a playground, mini golf, mini-football field, bowling alley… TO spend holidays in a pleasant atmosphere and conviviality, various animations in season are organized as accompanied excursions, water games, giant games evenings, water aerobics sessions and tatoos for the children. To complete your stay, many visits are available from the campsite, such as the visit of the Ideal Palace of Facteur Cheval (28 km), the Peaugres Safari (19km), The city of Chocolate (9km) or the bucolic rail of Gorges du Doux (21km).
