Stop off south of Poitiers for a break in Joussé, in the shade of the lime trees on the square of the same name. Today's halles (covered market) stand on the site of the old, dilapidated hall. It was thanks to the impetus of Gustave Baudin, mayor at the time, that the municipality of Joussé acquired this pavilion for the 1900 Universal Exhibition. A bronze plaque at the foot of a pillar bears the name of the builder, but the plaque is now covered in cement.

Located at an altitude of 140 meters, not far from the edge of the limestone plateau, many "chirons" were still visible at the beginning of the 20th century. Two very damaged dolmens remain today, within groves, in the middle of fields. They are very similar to those of Usson-du-Poitou, nearby. One of the two dolmens was apparently a dolmen with a corridor and a quadrangular chamber of the Angoumoisin type. The tumulus that protected these prehistoric burials has long since disappeared and the archaeological material has been destroyed, largely due to clandestine excavations. However, some polished axes, a necklace of limestone beads and human remains discovered in situ testify to the funerary and symbolic use of this type of construction. The church was built between the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century, and was enlarged in the 15th century, as the south aisle shows. It belongs to a priory dependent on the abbey of Saint-Cyprien de Poitiers. This building has preserved beautiful Romanesque sculpted elements on its western facade, notably a Crucifixion scene and capitals decorated with lions, griffins and other monsters. It houses a very beautiful furniture of the classical period dating from the 17th and 18th centuries such as the gilded wooden tabernacle and polychrome wooden statues. Classified as a Historic Monument in 1907. A heritage desk installed at the entrance will give you information on this monument.
