The church was built between the end of the 11th century and the beginning of the 12th century, and was enlarged in the 15th century, as the south aisle shows. It belongs to a priory dependent on the abbey of Saint-Cyprien de Poitiers. This building has preserved beautiful Romanesque sculpted elements on its western facade, notably a Crucifixion scene and capitals decorated with lions, griffins and other monsters. It houses a very beautiful furniture of the classical period dating from the 17th and 18th centuries such as the gilded wooden tabernacle and polychrome wooden statues.
Classified as a Historic Monument in 1907.
