A short walk that allows you to discover the charming village of Azérables and its green setting.

A bumpy, hollowed-out route that requires a bit of stamina. From the Etang de la Chaume, the route wanders through the Creuse bocage on rolling tracks and paths. The highlight is the 2 km downhill stretch on the Chemin du Marchat.

Don't be fooled by the peaceful landscape surrounding the Etang de la Chaume! From this very pleasant starting point, the route heads due south after a short excursion into the village of Azérables, and then takes in a succession of bumps and hollows - modest indeed, but numerous... The Chemin du Marchat, at the halfway point, is a non-stop, slightly downhill stretch of 2 km, very pleasant to do, with a beautiful view to boot. This trail is part of circuits 25 (black) and 23 (blue): triple signposting almost the entire length. Be extra-careful when crossing the D1, especially the second time around: some cars speed along. Please slow down a little when crossing the Villaugoueix, to avoid running into any farmyard animals that may be loitering on this narrow stretch of road...

Starting from the pond of La Chaume, this walk leads to the discreet Cornu wood which borders the southern bank, and which plays a fundamental role in the ecological balance of the site. Stay tuned: the route is in the process of evolving and should make it possible to reach the granite chaos of the Mur des Brosses (during 2023).

You pass by the pond, but don't stray too far from it. It's pleasant to do on easy trails, and the southern part leads to some lovely sunken paths.

Not far from Vareilles, this little circuit is a pleasant walk that only touches the wood in question. But it is quite possible to venture out and push on to the banks of the nearby Chaume pond.

Leaving Saint Sébastien, the 42 climbs due north. Between Labetoulle and Peugue?er, the path is specially laid out for walking along the Abloux stream. On the way back, you'll find bocage landscapes and a circuit that's not too strenuous.

Surrounded by a pleasant, unspoilt environment, this vast reservoir is the perfect place to relax, with its landscaped beaches and outdoor leisure activities such as sailing, canoeing, boating, water-skiing, pedal-boating and fishing. Area: 312 hectares.

The original tumulus was erected around 500 BC. This tumulus is a reconstruction. The Redoutes tumulus necropolis comprised five mounds excavated between 1983 and 1986. The site was close to the Age du Mont village. At its center was a burial in a hollowed-out tree trunk, accompanied by two bronze rings, a filiform bronze earring and a second earring made up of three beads, one in glass paste, the second in hollowed-out amber and the third in perishable material, of which only the imprint remained. The tumuli were separated by low dry-stone walls, the whole being encircled by a circular granite wall 14 metres in diameter with an external facing.

This small, rectangular rural church was built in the 12th century, but has undergone many alterations. The lower part of the façade features a slightly pointed-arched portal and two high, blind, round-arched niches. This type of facade is found in Limousin, Poitou and Berry. The façade ends with a simple gable wall, pierced by a round-arched bay topped by a small sculpted head. The nave is slightly wider than the choir with its flat chevet. The latter has retained its stone cradle, while the nave vault has been replaced by panelling. The choir houses a 17th-century high altar with a damaged painting of Saints Peter and Paul. A 13th-century stone-filled bay has been preserved in the upper part of the chevet wall. The church features a 17th-century wooden altarpiece.

The former church dated the XIIth century but due to the lack of interview and because of the dilapidation of the building, the municipality decided to reconstruct totally the building. The current church, the boss of which is saint Sébastien, a martyr, was dedicated on October 7th, 1862. This neo-Romanic church is facing west. Each of the side walls is supported by foothills. The bell tower-hall is roofed in skeleton. The portal is surmounted by a Moorish arch in full round arch, by-passed by a decorated archivolt, falling again on columns committed to figurative capitals.
