Le tumulus de Bazelat

Le tumulus de Bazelat

Description

The original tumulus was erected around 500 BC. This tumulus is a reconstruction.
The Redoutes tumulus necropolis comprised five mounds excavated between 1983 and 1986. The site was close to the Age du Mont village.
At its center was a burial in a hollowed-out tree trunk, accompanied by two bronze rings, a filiform bronze earring and a second earring made up of three beads, one in glass paste, the second in hollowed-out amber and the third in perishable material, of which only the imprint remained.
The tumuli were separated by low dry-stone walls, the whole being encircled by a circular granite wall 14 metres in diameter with an external facing.
