Walk along this forest path to reach Soulac-sur-Mer with your family, on a tour or with friends. From the Gironde estuary to the Atlantic Ocean, this itinerary is an ideal nature walk for the whole family in Le Verdon sur Mer. Located a few kilometres from Soulac-sur-Mer, this route offers a diversity of landscapes: maritime pine forests, marshes.. The itinerary that we propose to you borrows several types of ways: streets in the city center, a cycle track, a forest road and a forest road in limestone. There is no continuous signposting throughout the walk, but the paths are logical and the description of the itinerary will be enough to guide you.

Discover the commune of Jau Dignac and Loirac, a former island in the Gironde estuary. At the bend in the road you can see the Green Lizard Lacerta Viridis basking in the sun or a European Study Ernis Orbicularis... From the 18m high lighthouse-museum of Richard, you will be able to enjoy a magnificent 360° landscape.

South of Richard's lighthouse, the small port of Goulée welcomes a few pleasure boats. The perimeter of the basin is very well laid out for a stopover and even a pleasant picnic in the middle of resplendent plant beds. Towards the end of the 18th century, the new cultivation of vines favoured the expansion of this small port, whose activity was then divided between fishing and river transport. This last activity decreased around 1870, as the railway replaced river transport. The port still has its small fishermen's huts and has more pleasure boats than fishing boats. The Balades à Roulettes® (BR®) are short, quiet walks, with a pushchair or a small bicycle, or adapted for people with reduced mobility (in a wheelchair), proposed by the Fédération Française de Randonnée de la Gironde.

In the 1980s, Adrien Uijttewaal, a Dutch farmer, moved to the Médoc. He bought vines of about thirty years old as well as a 19th century mansion built by a family of Dutch engineers who came to clean up the Médoc marshes in the 17th century. Until 1994, the harvests were vinified in a cooperative cellar. 1995 is the first vintage to be vinified directly by the owner. Since 2003, the property has been recognised as a "Cru Bourgeois".

The Pointe de Grave is the extreme north of the Médoc, between Bordeaux and the Atlantic Ocean. It is located at the mouth of the Gironde Estuary, opposite the town of Royan. This geographical configuration, unique in France, makes it of great ornithological interest during pre-marital migration: the "funnel" effect concentrates the birds that migrate along the coast and those that, further inland, are reluctant to cross the estuary and follow the bank to its end. These two flows then converge above the Pointe de Grave before crossing the estuary in the direction of the Charente-Maritime and, beyond, towards Northern Europe and Siberia LPO Aquitaine coordinates the scientific monitoring of the migration, carried out every year from March to May. More than a hundred species are observed during the three months of monitoring.

Discover the Fillaos organic farm and the farming profession. Come and explore a farm and find out about farming. Help feed the 500 goats, learn hand and machine milking, and hand feed the kids. Discover, too, the farm's sheep and lambs, cows and ponies, plus donkeys and their foals. Also, find the farm's treasure and go on a trip in a tractor and a cart. An afternoon snack with farm produce is available.

The village appears situated on a height with its bell tower emerging from a bouquet of greenery. Its name would derive from the pulleys with lever called storks, whose wells of the country were once equipped. The parish, mentioned in 1100, was created during the clearing of the Chizé forest. Franchises were granted by the Earl of Poitiers in order to attract new inhabitants. Placed on the royal roads, it is in the 16th century. a place of passage of Protestant or Catholic troops. Before phylloxera, most of the commune is covered with vines producing a white wine from which a brandy as good as that of Cognac is taken.
