Misson is a small village that stretches over 14.7 kilometres. It is situated at an altitude of 90 metres and has about 800 inhabitants. It is crossed by the stream of Leplace, the stream of Grand Arrigan and the stream of Yats. Misson is twinned with the town of Arnac in the Cantal. In 1641, Misson belonged to the royal provostry of Dax, which bought from Louis XII certain domain rights. Fifty years ago, Misson was home to renowned clog makers and gem makers. Today these trades have disappeared but they reappear in some craft exhibitions. Nowadays, the identity of the village reflects a long history.

Located in the Chalosse region of the Landes département, Habas is one of the 24 communes of the Communauté de Communes du Pays d?Orthe et Arrigans. This charming village, set on the heights of the Gave de Pau, has a population of around 1,500, and has maintained its vitality thanks to a rich network of associations and the preservation of its local shops. Habas takes its name from the Gascon word "fabas", meaning a place fertile with beans. Located on the Roman road linking Bordeaux to Astorga, the area became a stopping-off point for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela in the 14th century. At the same time, the town began to develop around its feudal castle, the site of today?s town hall. In 1638, Louis XIII granted Habas letters patent authorizing the holding of a market every Friday.

A church is mentioned in the Liber rubeus of the cathedral of Dax (XIth-XIIth c.) under the name of "Sancta Maria de Clarmont" century) under the name of "Sancta Maria de Clarmont". It is after 1444 that its name is replaced by "Sainte Madeleine". This building was destroyed in 1569 during the passage of the Protestant troops. A report of April 1803 describes the building "in the [most] sad state possible, the bell tower falling into ruin, as well as the porch completely broken, the altars overturned, the ornaments removed (...)". From 1809 onwards, the bell tower was repaired by the carpenter Jean Perrin, then the church was refurnished. In 1833, the church was too small. A period of work followed with a series of extensions: addition of a bay, repair of the nave, construction of the side aisles and vaulting of the building. The building is in the neo-Romanesque style.

In Sort-en-Chalosse, Richard and Karine Commarieu await your visit. For four generations, the farm has had an area dedicated to raising ducks which are then used in foie gras, confits, terrines and pâtés. It also produces Landes yellow chickens and capons. The owners will be delighted to welcome you to their farm in Chalosse so they can share their story with you, in which the tradition of the land blends with a modern farm to offer you a range of products made from ducks that are raised and fattened in the traditional way, with maize grown on site. Karine opens the doors to their lab every afternoon from Monday to Saturday, for cooking classes that vary by season (revisited stews, tapas, duck, and more). The workshop lasts at least two hours and ends with a friendly meal (see the owners for the terms and conditions).
