century) under the name of "Sancta Maria de Clarmont". It is after 1444 that its name is replaced by "Sainte Madeleine". This building was destroyed in 1569 during the passage of the Protestant troops. A report of April 1803 describes the building "in the [most] sad state possible, the bell tower falling into ruin, as well as the porch completely broken, the altars overturned, the ornaments removed (...)". From 1809 onwards, the bell tower was repaired by the carpenter Jean Perrin, then the church was refurnished. In 1833, the church was too small. A period of work followed with a series of extensions: addition of a bay, repair of the nave, construction of the side aisles and vaulting of the building. The building is in the neo-Romanesque style.
