On the borders of the Charente, Charente Maritime and Deux-Sèvres, not far from the town of Paizay-Naudouin, stands Chateau Saveilles, a residence combining the characteristics of a fortified castle with those of a Renaisnce castle since the 14th century Come and discover the castle of Saveilles with its prison tower, its gun ports, its big tower and its loopholes, its archways and machicolations... The XIVth, XVIth and XIXth centuries stand side by side in the sunshine of the Charente, and you can discover and admire the exteriors, surrounded by a moat, comprising two square-shaped buildings with towers at their ends. The entrance courtyard includes a long outbuilding and corner towers.
