A family walk alongside the water tracing the history of the milling and paper industry in Limousin...From Brignac station, cross the road and take the earth path opposite. Go through the meadow and go to the far left.Continue on this path between the railway track and the Vienne. When you arrive at the Le Got mill, go under the railway track by taking the tunnel, to reach the entrance of the building. Or go to the level crossing, cross over, and take the road to the left to reach the mill.Follow the road in the opposite direction to return to Brignac station.

This tour takes you along the pretty banks of the Vienne to the Moulin du Got, a veritable place of memory and conservation of the Vienne valley's paper-making industry. You're also close to Saint-Léonard de Noblat and its famous Romanesque collegiate church, listed as an intangible heritage site by Santiago de Compostela.

Royères is located near Saint-Léonard de Noblat in the Monts et Barrages art and history region. You'll pass through typical Haute-Vienne villages such as La Mazière and Caux. Admire the collegiate church of Saint-Léonard de Noblat, a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Very nice 15 km walk along the Vienne. You will meet mills, villages, ponds and streams. You will take a part of the famous path of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle. Possible variation in 3 hours.

The circuit de Noblat in Saint-Léonard de Noblat is a lovely walk for the whole family. On this short hike, you'll discover the charming district of Noblat, which dates back to the 13th century. You'll also have the chance to walk along the Vienne river and see the mills. Saint-Léonard de Noblat is famous for its remarkable Romanesque collegiate church, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.

A short tour starting from the station, allowing you to discover the heritage of Saint-Léonard de Noblat. To see on the course: the collegiate church registered with UNESCO, the pretty lanes, the place of the Republic with the salesmen of marzipan (local speciality containing almonds), the museum Gay Lussac. Nearby: Historail railway museum and Moulin du Got, paper museum.

The circuit "Entre Vienne et Tard" located in Saint-Léonard de Noblat offers you a 10 km hike to discover all the charms of the Vienne and Tard valley. The landscape of the Limousin countryside is remarkable. On your spikes.

A hike for lovers of local architectural heritage, along the water and rolling landscapes.Follow the path along the Vienne river and head towards the village of Noblat. Pass between the gardens (Place des Chambonnauds) and continue to the right using the small passages between the houses, then to the left. You will arrive at the bridge.Go across it. At the D7bis, turn right. Arriving at the D941, follow it on the left using the pavement, passing in front of the mills of Noblat on the banks of the Vienne.At the first crossroads, turn left. At the end of the porcelain factory, continue up a steep slope and follow the path that climbs to Chigot.At the top of the hill, at the crossing of five paths, at the cross, take the second path on the right. Possible variant.At the crossing, continue straight ahead for 10 mins and then follow the path on the right. In the woods, turn left following the GR 654.At the crossroads, turn left onto the hairpin path.Once you reach a wide path, turn right and then turn left at the next crossing, leaving the farm path to the right. Leave the GR654 on the right and continue straight ahead. At the "y" crossroads, turn right, go past the pond, cross the stream and climb up to the village of Chenour.Pass behind the houses, go left at the last one and follow the small road on the right. Turn around to admire the village.At the crossroads, turn left towards Surzol, and then, 30 mins later, follow the path on the right. Continue and follow the road to the left. Round trip to the Saint-Martin fountain.At the next crossroads in a "T" shape, turn right and continue until the next crossroads with the RD. Continue opposite in the direction of Surzol.Go through the village and follow the pathway that leads to the pond: go along it. Then turn right when you reach the roadway. At the crossroads, turn left until you reach the La Pronche road.Turn left and, after the climb, follow the ridge path to the right. In Beaubiat, turn left. Just before the hamlet of Bel Air, follow the grassy path on the right, going down the small road. At the D7bis, turn left, follow it for 300 metres. In front of the church, turn left, cross the stone bridge and follow the same path as on the way to the starting point.

Twenty years after the inauguration of the Paris-Limoges route, the Limoges-Eymoutiers line was put into service in 1881 following a construction project that involved more than 1500 workers. Brignac station in Royères was used to transport wood (previously floated along the Vienne), stones, tiles and bricks and food and fertilisers. Today, the line still carries passengers. The station building is now private property that cannot be visited.

Four famous mills have worked on the Vienne and its tributaries in the commune of Royères: the mills of Lageas Basse, Brignac, Châtaigne and La Lathière. On the way, you can see the ruins of the Lathière mill that once produced flour.

Settled in 2019, Mr and Mrs SOURY have a free-range organic pig farm with a forest of oak and chestnut trees. Direct sales of farm-cut pigs (fresh meat, charcuterie). We also have Limousin beef, Black Angus cows, Poitevin goats and Limousin ewes. Visits by appointment only.

Dating from the 17th century, it rises 3 metres above a granite plinth topped by a monolithic shaft. On one side of the base, there is a shield decorated with prisoner's shackles, attributes of Saint-Léonard, and two masks on either side of the shaft. In 1980, the cross was in a ruinous state; the crosspiece had disappeared, and the shaft leaned over on a partially demolished plinth. It was then restored and decorated with a new simple metal crosspiece. Don't miss: the lavoir when you go through the village.

Ferme de l'Espérance is located at Chabaud in the commune of Châtenet-en-Dognon. In 2019, 4 greenhouses, 3 poultry houses, 1ha of market gardening and 0.5ha of orchards (apples, plums, pears, cherries, hazelnuts...) were installed on 1.8 ha. The farm offers seasonal organic vegetables and eggs all year round.

Breeding of young Limousin cattle, unchanged since 1958. Farm products: Meat from young Limousin cattle, in 5 kg or 10 kg bags. Vacuum-packed. Accessible to wheelchair users.

The 12th-century church, dedicated to Saint Priest, bishop of Clermont, was rebuilt in 1490, probably following an earthquake that also affected Saint-Léger-la-Montagne, Ambazac and Saint-Sylvestre. It was completely renovated in 1993. The church houses a processional reliquary cross (enamelled, with double crossbeam, flowered ends and dragons on the foot) dating from the mid-13th century, one of the treasures of Grandmont Abbey. The church also features remarkable stained-glass windows by master stained-glass artist Francis Chigot.

Le Saint Antoine offers generous, home-cooked meals, group meals and catering on request. Burgers on Friday and Saturday evenings on site or to take away!
