The GR de Pays Monts et Barrages en Limousin invites you to discover a singular territory situated in the foothills of the Limousin Mountains between Limoges and the Millevaches plateau.
This 180-kilometre trail takes you to the heart of the Limousin region, to exceptional sites such as Mont Gargan, a major site of resistance during the Second World War and today an exceptional viewpoint in the middle of the moorland, to the sparkling waters of Lac de Vassivière. Each stage has its own treasures, combining nature and heritage, bearing witness to a rural heritage that's still very much alive, and to ancestral skills that have been preserved.
