A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). A warm welcome awaits explorers in caravans, motorhomes and tents, whether travelling with a motorised vehicle or on their own. Our pitches are spacious and bordered by hedges. They are ideal for families or couples to feel at home. We have two accommodation units available for hire. Our large and spacious mobile home is available for a minimum of 3 nights. Our smaller mobile home is available by the night and is ideal for couples, families with young children and walkers/cyclists. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON SITE. The site is open from April to September.

Le Coudray is in an old farmhouse 300 m from the village of La Pallu, near the forest, 9 km from Pré-en-Pail, 30 km from Alençon, 12 km from La Ferté-Macé, 9 km from Couterne and 14 km from Bagnoles de l'Orne, a spa town. Thérèse, who loves the countryside, welcomes you to her haven of peace. You will be staying in a bedroom on the first floor of the house. Private bathroom with shower, WC, vanity unit and hairdryer. Indoor or outdoor breakfast, table and chairs in front of the house or at the back in a wooded park. There are a number of restaurants, the nearest of which is 4 km away (Couptrain). Thérèse, who knows the area inside out, will be delighted to give you information and advice on your visits and, if you wish, to accompany you on short walks in the surrounding area. La chambre d'hôtes du Coudray is 4.3 km from the Véloscénie, on the Alençon / Bagnoles-de-l'Orne via Carrouges stage, exit before St-Patrice du Désert (lieu-dit "le Plessis") then take the D241.

Les Bruyères offers a comfortable setting with spacious rooms and a sheltered courtyard with barbecue and garden furniture. On the ground floor, you enter through the living room (28m²) with its wood-burning stove, a large TV with DTT and two sofas. The 25m² kitchen has a large fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave, 2 induction hobs and 2 gas hobs. The shower room has a walk-in shower, washbasin, storage space and hairdryer. Separate WC. Upstairs, 3 bedrooms. The 1st (34m²) has a 180*200 king-size bed, bath and WC, privacy screen and plenty of storage space. A 2nd green bedroom (18m²) with a 140*190 bed, chest of drawers and sofa bed. The last bedroom (8m²) with its four-poster bed has a 140*190 bed. In Neuilly-le-Vendin, you'll find a café-bar-restaurant with a bread counter and a hairdresser. More shops in Pré-en-Pail (12km) and La Ferté-Macé (15km). You are 13km from the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne and in the Normandie-Maine Regional Nature Park. You'll love the hiking trails and the nearby Véloscénie cycle route linking Paris to Mont Saint Michel. If you fancy a spot of fishing, there are plenty of opportunities in the village, with lakes and trout in the river.

Between Bagnoles de l'Orne, a renowned spa town, and Lassay-les-Châteaux, a small town full of character, the Champs étoilés gîte is exceptional for the warm atmosphere it creates thanks to a subtle combination of wood and stone, and new and renovated furniture. The bedding is comfortable and there are two bathrooms, one with a whirlpool bath. The stay includes beds made, bathroom and kitchen linen, heating and cleaning. From JUNE 2025: a wellness area will be available with, on level 0, a heated, semi-underground swimming pool measuring 4m x 3m, a sauna and a spa, shower and wc. A fitness area will be located on the mezzanine floor. In the valleys of hautes Mayenne the landscape is undulating, offering beautiful views. Local shops in Couterne, 3km (bakery, butcher, mini-market). Bagnoles de l'Orne (9km): spa, swimming pool, tree-lined course, restaurants, all shops and services. La Ferté-Macé (14km): leisure centre with water sports and swimming in season. Lassay-les-Châteaux (9km): visits to the château, numerous events and exhibitions, painters in the street, art galleries, market and shops. Swimming pool in summer. Numerous signposted walks. From the gîte, 500 metres, Sentier du sculpteur, a short walk of 6.7km. Professional stays: 3 people maximum. 1 or 2-night weekend breaks: arrival 5pm - departure 5pm. On the old road to Brittany, the roof is an like upturned ship’s hull and the walls are frescoed by Le Scouezec, a Breton artist and tell the story of St Roch. There is an annual pilgrimage on the Sunday after 15 August (open air mass, procession across the fields, dogs especially welcomed)

Cossesseville church is under the patronage of Val Abbey, and dependent upon the Diocese of Bayeux since 1167. Originally located in the lower part of the parish town, the church was moved to another site, between the presbytery and the local lord’s house in 1729. In the cemetery that stands alongside the church, two graves are protected with a roof and a grey marble table upon which coats of arms are engraved on the church wall: this is in fact a 19th century monument dedicated to two people who had demonstrated virtue and charity. The Virgin and Child placed on the table represents the patron saint of soldiers. It was erected on the 16th of August 1873 by Marie de Gonneville, Countess of Mirabeau.

It is said that during Charlemagne's reign, a fortress already stood on this spot overlooking the former road to Brittany. The oldest vestiges, discovered during ongoing archaeological excavation, date back to the 10th century. Ralf de Pomeroy was among the companions who accompanied William on his conquest of England. The family had many possessions in England and founded Val Abbey in the nearby parish of Saint-Omer. The castle and its grounds underwent many transformations up to the 13th century, before being abandoned. Its picturesque ruins, including an impressive porch tower, nestling amidst the woods, are within a perfect romantic atmosphere for inspiring reverie and legends, including that of Mellia la Blonde.

A vast share of this small church is contemporary. The square bell tower surmounted with a slate pyramid was built in 1737. It boasts a polygonal spire. Square windows illuminate the nave and the choir. Many priests are laid to rest in the cemetery. Under the patronage of Val Abbey, the church is dependent upon the Diocese of Bayeux.

After the seigniorial chapel was extended, a statue of the Virgin was set within the stonework. The date the church was renovated is engraved on the door woodwork. This church is dependent upon Val Abbey since its construction.

The Loterie cellars are an organic cider-based production site, located on the slopes of Suisse Normande. Come and take a break at our Suisse Normande cider farm! Régis Aubry offers you a warm welcome and a tour of the site, including the orchards. He is delighted to explain his production, from apple juice to calvados, via a range of different ciders, thanks to some 30 different apple varieties, together with perry, cider vinegar, apple jelly, Pommeau de Normandie and his latest creation ‘R'Êve de Poire’. Finally, in the boutique, you will find a vast range of the Loterie cellars’ produce, with the possibility to taste before you buy. The sales area devoted to other local producers offers you an opportunity to discover a range of other local flavours. Guided cellar tours, followed by a tasting session (allow for around 1h30) by appointment all year round and at 2.30pm from the 9th of July to the 24th of August. Rates: €2 per person.

In Normandy, 25 minutes south of Caen, we made a crazy bet. To open a restaurant, a creperie, in the heart of Normandy Switzerland in a small village of about sixty inhabitants, called La Pommeraye. And so we renovated the old stables to make it a meeting place for gourmets and gourmands, with a retro bistro atmosphere... "la route des crêpes" (the pancake road). Reservation recommended. For the tourist and the holidaymaker, staying at the campsite, in this pretty, peaceful village full of charm, offers multiple resources: around the Orne, which crosses Pont d'Ouilly, activities are organized (kayaking, pedal boat, tree climbing, walks...) but also animations (a guinguette is held every Sunday afternoon in summer and on Monday evening a concert is held on the banks of the Orne) which will delight you. For the little ones, games are installed in the municipal park opposite the campsite. Pont d'Ouilly and its campsite are classified "Commune accueil vélo".
