A small, personal campsite on the edge of the Normandie Maine National Park, a site with panoramic views over the surrounding countryside and the village of Couterne. Situated on the main road between Lassay-les-Chateaux (Petites Cités de Caractère) and the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, on the border between the departments of Mayenne (Pays de la Loire) and Orne (Normandy). A warm welcome awaits explorers in caravans, motorhomes and tents, whether travelling with a motorised vehicle or on their own. Our pitches are spacious and bordered by hedges. They are ideal for families or couples to feel at home. We have two accommodation units available for hire. Our large and spacious mobile home is available for a minimum of 3 nights. Our smaller mobile home is available by the night and is ideal for couples, families with young children and walkers/cyclists. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON SITE. The site is open from April to September.

Come and enjoy a peaceful stay in a gîte in the countryside, decorated with care on the theme of wood and furnished with family heirlooms and period pieces, for a warm and authentic atmosphere. The ground floor comprises two large, convivial living rooms, a shower room and WC. Upstairs, there is a second shower room, four bedrooms and an office that can sleep up to 7 people, with the option of an extra bed on a sofa bed (8th person). There are plenty of board games, books for young and old, and a French billiards table in the lounge. Outside, there is a covered area with table tennis, badminton, Mölkky and darts. Nearby: Parc de Loisirs de la Colmont in Gorron (8 km): high ropes course, water rides, nature activities, tennis, swin golf, golf shooting, kayak hire, laser game - Jardins des Renaudies in Colombiers-du-Plessis (8 km) - Parc de la Guinefolle in Ernée (19 km) - Lac de Haute Mayenne (17 km) : ideal site for nature lovers, anglers and sports enthusiasts, extending over 6 km - Lassay-les-Châteaux (22 km), listed as one of the most beautiful villages in France - Pontmain (19 km), a historic site with its arboretum: a magnificent 12-hectare wooded park. All shops and services in Gorron, just 8 km away.

This gite consists of a spacious living/dining room with a fully equipped open kitchen (oven, hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, kettle, toaster). Two bedrooms with double beds and one bedroom with twin beds, a shower room, separate toilet. Basement with washing machine, dryer and a room that can be used as a playroom. Wifi. Garden with garden furniture and barbecue.

Between Bagnoles de l'Orne, a renowned spa town, and Lassay-les-Châteaux, a small town full of character, the Champs étoilés gîte is exceptional for the warm atmosphere it creates thanks to a subtle combination of wood and stone, and new and renovated furniture. The bedding is comfortable and there are two bathrooms, one with a whirlpool bath. The stay includes beds made, bathroom and kitchen linen, heating and cleaning. From JUNE 2025: a wellness area will be available with, on level 0, a heated, semi-underground swimming pool measuring 4m x 3m, a sauna and a spa, shower and wc. A fitness area will be located on the mezzanine floor. In the valleys of hautes Mayenne the landscape is undulating, offering beautiful views. Local shops in Couterne, 3km (bakery, butcher, mini-market). Bagnoles de l'Orne (9km): spa, swimming pool, tree-lined course, restaurants, all shops and services. La Ferté-Macé (14km): leisure centre with water sports and swimming in season. Lassay-les-Châteaux (9km): visits to the château, numerous events and exhibitions, painters in the street, art galleries, market and shops. Swimming pool in summer. Numerous signposted walks. La Closerie de la Vergée features large rooms: a living room with wood-burning stove (32m²), 3 bedrooms (15 to 22m²), 5 beds in total (2x140 and 3*90). The kitchen is fully equipped. In the covered courtyard, you can play table tennis, swings or Dutch billiards. To make the most of the outdoors, the garden furniture is complete, including the masonry charcoal barbecue. Younger children can play in the sandpit (buckets and spades available) and discover the farm's activities with Claudine and Romain, the owners. As soon as you arrive, you'll be welcomed with farm-fresh produce! Discover the surrounding countryside on foot or by bike: 8 bikes are available, 5 for adults and 3 for children. Shops are 7km away in Gorron. In Désertine (3km) you have access to bread and fresh produce vending machines. For your leisure activities, 7km away, the Colmont leisure centre offers tree courses (from 4 years and adults), paintball, swin golf, laser game, kayaking and mountain bike hire. Mini kayak/ mountain bike raids are also available by prior arrangement. Open from April to October. The Renaudies garden at Colombier du Plessis is a must-see, with its English-inspired garden, eco-museum and ephemeral maze in summer (12km). Discover the Marian city of Pontmain, a major pilgrimage site in the west of France since the apparition of Mary in 1871. From the gîte, escape to Mont Saint Michel, just an hour and 15 minutes away by car. Professional stay: 5 people maximum (5 beds and 3 bedrooms) - Cleaning compulsory 1 per stay from 1 to 14 nights. Weekend stay: from Friday 4pm to Sunday 4pm (to be agreed with the owner). Weekly stay: arrival from 4pm and departure at 10am.

Visit the gardens of the Albizia estate in Livry, on the road to Caumont-sur-Aure, in Normandy. A building erected on the site of the martyrdom of St Sulpice, bishop of Bayeux, in the 9th century. Seat of a cult of St Sulpice who cured skin complaints. Numerous ex voto offerings. St Sulpice fountain nearby. Tours on request.

A 12th century chapel dedicated to St Sulpice which had the power to cure skin ailments, particularly in children. A statue of a young girl found not far from there decorates the boundary wall of the chapel. The St Sulpice fountain can be seen a little further on.

Listed as a ‘remarkable’ garden with over 2,000 plant varieties for the visitor to admire and even to purchase in the adjacent market garden. Created 15 years ago, a second terraced garden is planted with yews pruned in topiaries in an Italian spirit, with a maze at its extremity. The garden was awarded the National Garden Prize 2009 by the AJHH (gardening and horticulture journalists’ association). Visit lasts: 1 hour. Plan of the garden on loan at the entrance or guided tour for groups. Plants for sale on site. Pushchairs and dogs are not permitted inside the gardens.

This long 650m2 garden, with gentle lines, is divided into several themed plots. Amidst its hardy and climbing plants, thrive over 100 old rose varieties found in former gardens, very few of which are remontant, in purple and pastel hues. A second garden was recently created, boasting old Norman rose varieties, planted within a floral vegetable garden. Guided tours on request.

Built in 1631 by the architect François Mansart, the Château de Balleroy was owned by the Balleroy family until it was purchased by Malcolm S. Forbes in 1970. Visits of the castle grounds. Visit in French or English lasts 45 minutes.
