Located behind the law court, Lisieux’s former bishops’ residence is located within the Diocesan Garden, a formal French garden recreated in 1837. Several amusements for children. Music kiosk, water fountain. Impressive floral arrangements in the high season. The garden’s main entrance is in Place Mitterrand, at the foot of St. Peter’s Cathedral. Go under the porch and up the stairs to the end of the Matignon courtyard. You can also enter via Rue Foch and Boulevard Carnot (suitable for disabled visitors).

The Cospéan wing was created in the 17th century under Philippe Cospéan, Bishop of Lisieux at the time, to complement the XIIth and XIIIth century Bishop's Palace. The palace became national property in 1791, when the bishopric was abolished. Eight years later, the sub-prefecture and a prison moved in. The sub-prefecture remained until 1857 and the prison until 1907, before giving way to the Palais de Justice until 2020. After a terrible fire in 2000 and restoration work on the facade in 2011, the Cospéan wing is about to be completely restored and fitted out!

Gothic construction began circa 1170 and was completed in the mid 13th century. The Flamboyant chapel behind the choir houses the tomb of Pierre Cauchon who became Bishop of Lisieux after Joan of Arc's trial. The parish church of St. Thérèse includes many commemorative objects. Free guided tours in July and August.

Very nice renovated duplex, bright, sunny with a nice view from the living room and the bedroom. This 2 rooms including a private terrace of 8m2, offers a quick access to Deauville. Free parking in front of the gite. Linen not provided. Cleaning is not included and must be done at the end of your stay.

Very comfortable room on the 2nd floor of my house. Kitchen and bathroom are shared rooms. Very close to the center, the place of residence is nevertheless very quiet. I live in a dead end road so no traffic. The parking is 50 meters on the right.
