This hike will take you from the Sérénac plateau to the Tarn valley. It forms a loop around the Méridienne verte. A few heritage features mark out its route. t the start, on your right, you can see the Albigensian plain in the distance. During your walk, you will cross agricultural areas, oak and chestnut woods. In Pécotte, a small place in the commune where two farms are located for market gardening, you will see above all the "bac de Pécotte". It was one of the links between the two banks of the Tarn. It was put into service in 1880. Its activity ceased in 1960. Every year, on the third weekend of July, a festival is organised around this ferry. You will then go along the Tarn before reaching the high plateau where you can discover beautiful landscapes towards Alban, Assac, Valence d'Albigeois...

From the Brasc plateau to the banks of the Tarn river, a breathtaking hike that winds through the pines and connects the perched village with a small chapel below.From the cross situated on the northeast side of the church square, head towards Réquista. After 50m you reach a road junction, where you turn to the right. After approximately 500 m you will reach a pine wood, take a hairpin bend to the right; then follow an ancient roadway for about 3 km towards the Mas de Gély.Once above the Mas de Gély, take the track leading through woodland, then onto a path that runs through some trees.  After 100 m take the path to the left which becomes a meandering slope down to Guiraldou, Le Roc; From here follow the D902 to the right.Once you’ve reached Saint-Dalmazi, you will see some houses situated up ahead. Between the houses to your right there is a steep passage which will take you up to Sénils where you then join a narrow road which joins the D552. Follow this road to the right up to the village of Brasc.

This tour will help you discover the various monuments and remains of Ambialet. From the old monastery, at the top of the promontory, you will have a spectacular view of the isthmus.

La rivière est ici à peu près à mi-parcours. Gaycre fut peuplé par les Ibères au Ve siècle. En effet, ce nom provient de l’Ibère « Garritz » qui donne en occitan, puis en vieux français « Garric »... le chêne. Cet arbre ornait le blason de ce village médiéval qui a été construit sur un promontoire rocheux d’où vous aurez un superbe point de vue sur la vallée. Ce joli hameau perché, visible de loin, est surnommé « le petit Mont Saint Michel du Tarn ». Le château du XVe siècle et les trois fours à pain, dont deux encore présents, constituaient un exceptionnel signe de richesse au Moyen Âge. En 1835, la commune de Gaycre fusionnée, par Ordonnance Royale, avec Cadix cesse d’exister. Elle devient un « écart » de Cadix. Durant votre randonnée, vous découvrirez des paysages variés et un riche petit patrimoine (lavoir, cazelle, croix).

Shopping in a listed site in the heart of the historic center! The Albi market is held in a unique setting, a Baltard-style pavilion built in 1903. More than a century old, it's a popular meeting place for locals and visitors alike. Twenty or so stores open their doors, offering authentic, quality products. Market gardeners, greengrocers, caterers, fishmongers, pork butchers, cheese-makers, pastry-makers... It's even possible to eat under the covered market, with a choice of catering outlets.

A trip on the River Tarn aboard a traditional flat-bottomed boat. Various departures from the banks of the Tarn between 11:00am and 6:00pm. ‘L’Hirondelle’ and ‘Les Copains d’abord’, scows with a traditional flat bottom, cruise along the Tarn and offer passengers unexpected panoramas of Albi’s heritage and a tranquil atmosphere on the Tarn. The Toulouse-Lautrec museum is located in one of the most beautiful corners of Albi: the Berbie Palace. The Palace is one of the Episcopal City’s major sites with World Heritage status. The museum is recognised internationally for the works of this artist from Albi. TOULOUSE-LAUTREC, A UNIQUE COLLECTION IN THE WORLD The world’s most important public collection of the works of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, including 31 posters by the lithograph painter, is to be found in Albi. There are also no fewer than 219 paintings, 563 drawings and 183 lithographs displayed in the museum. Early works, major portraits, paintings of brothels, prints from the world of entertainment, advertisements and later works are presented there, giving this museum an exceptional collection. Each stage of the production is represented, highlighting his gift for observation, his talent as a draughtsman and his quality for capturing significant detail. The route around the museum is enriched with information panels. To visit the museum is to meet the man, this native of Albi, of whom this city is so proud. The first rooms are devoted to his early works representing his family, his friends and his favourite theme: animals. The Sérénac forest is equipped to receive the public and to discover the forest ecosystem (interpretation and hiking trails, permanent orienteering course, mountain bike course, picnic areas). La forêt de Sérénac, forêt de chênes, de châtaigniers, de hêtres de charmes, d'alisiers, et quelques résineux de 200 ha à une vingtaine de kilomètres à l'est d'Albi, était autrefois exploitée par le couvent de Saint-Louis-du-Désert. Elle devint ensuite forêt de production pour les mines de charbon et la verrerie de Carmaux. Aujourd'hui réhabilitée, elle est traversée de nombreux sentiers de randonnées et sentiers de découverte au départ de la Maison de la forêt.

The highest point on the Ségala plateaux, located near Valdéries (497 m). The mountain is overlooked by the ruins of the 13th century church of Saint Barthélémy. Along the road from Valdériès to Valence d'Albigeois, the dolmen of Gouty, classified as a Historic Monument, is worth seeing.

On this unique site in Europe, the river Tarn leaves the Massif Central to join the Aquitaine Basin. A natural waterfall of almost 20 metres provides considerable hydraulic power, which is exploited by the Arthès hydroelectric power station.

The history of this village is intertwined with that of the old Episcopalian castle, which was formerly the Bishop of Vabres summer palace. The name of the village was first made mention of in an official document dating back to 862 AD.During the 12th century, continual invasions, acts of banditry and battles between feudal lords created a tremendous insecurity. This led to the building of battlements to improve the defensive system and providea safe haven to the neighbouring people during periods of turmoil. The castle and the fortified village date back to the time of the Vabres bishops who made the village their summer residence and a safe refuge.When the religious wars were over and peace restored, the protective wall lost its primary function and so today the façade of the castle has windows inserted along its length. The fortified gates were also demolished to allow the passage of carts or to expand the neighbouring houses. The villagestreet, footpath and house pattern has remained unchanged since the Middle Ages, and the beautiful 15th century facades and windowscan still be seen in some streets today. The old church part of the battlements had its vault lowered in 1635 to provide housing to the schoolmaster and guards. In 1650 repair works were started by the Consuls.

This sanctuary which was founded by Alix de Castelnau has existed since at least the 15th century, when it was called Ouradou (oratory). This chapel was refurbished in 1730 and during the 19th century, the stairway door of the castle was then brought back into use.

It's an ideal holiday home for recharging your batteries and spending a holiday full of discoveries with family and friends. The house was renovated in 2013 and is therefore completely new, to accommodate up to eight people. It comprises two bedrooms with double beds, one bedroom with bunk beds and a cot, a large fully-equipped kitchen with dining area, a spacious living room with a sofa that converts into a bed, two bathrooms and two toilets. The house also offers two outdoor areas: a courtyard at the rear of the house and a garden around 50 m away. The small medieval village of Salles sur Cérou is ideally located, close to the city of Cordes sur ciel and 25km from the UNESCO World Heritage city of Albi and the Gaillacois vineyards. You can also explore the region on foot or by mountain bike, thanks to the many footpaths.

Les Rougemonts holiday cottage, situated in the oldest farm building on the site, dates from 1861 (90m²). It is the ideal place to stay in Ségala, Tarn for a wonderful holiday with family or friends, as it accommodates 4 to 5 people (two bedrooms). Imagine the activity in the living room a few decades ago, when you see the original cement tiles. But for your comfort, you'll find all the contemporary equipment you need to cook to your heart's content and a cosy living room to relax in. On the night side, there's a bedroom with blue/green tones and the morning sun to gently wake you up. The other bedroom, with its linen drapes, is more spacious and can accommodate 3 people. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom with double washbasin, shower and bath. This guest house has a beautiful, independent outdoor area that is perfect for children's activities. The guest houses share a laundry room with access to a washing machine. In summer, come and enjoy the large shared 11*6 swimming pool.
