A 106 kilometer road itinerary designed to help you discover the Garonne river valley from village to village. The easy slopes involved allow family outings or enjoying doing it with friends. This cycling itinerary allows you to go from Cierp-Gaud, in the foothills of the Pyrenees mountains, to Carbonne, by following the Garonne River. It's in the Comminges, former Gascony province where the Garonne grows bigger. From being simply a fast stream in the Pyrenees to becoming a branch river and finally a major waterway... Several access points are possible all along this itinerary. Don't miss stopping along the way to see picturesque villages such as Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges, Saint-Gaudens or even Saint-Martory.

Lovely loop around the village of Tourtouse

This walk will take you through the pretty little hamlets of Montardit and you'll discover the unusual little chapel of Notre Dame de la Goutte. This curious little chapel, worthy of a surrealist sculptor, was built in 1968 by Abbé Jean-Marie Piquemal and has become a place of pilgrimage during the liturgical feast of Notre-Dame des Sept Douleurs on 15 September. The place exudes a kind of peacefulness and quiet strength.

You're off on a lovely walk to discover the village of Le Fousseret and the surrounding area. Between the undergrowth of the Cazac forest, the Chemin de Ronde, the banks of the River Louge and the Picon orientation table, you're in for a real treat!

Discover our landscapes, panoramas and villages between the Garonne and the Pyrenean foothills! You set off from the village of Mauran in front of the church. 1. Take the D83 towards Montclar-de-Comminges. 2. Leave the route du Picon and continue straight ahead on the D62. 3. Leave the D62D in the direction of Montclar-de-Comminges and continue straight on. 4. Turn right onto chemin de Pincarrail 5. Turn left onto the D83 6. Turn right onto the D62D towards Plagne 7. Turn right onto the D49 and pass the village of Plagne 8. At the Ariège border, cross the bridge and continue straight ahead on the D435 to the Cérizols cemetery. 9. At the cemetery, turn left onto the D135 towards Fabas. 10. At Tané, turn left at the hairpin bend and join the D3 towards Le Plan. 11. At the border with the Ariège, turn right onto the D7G as far as the village of Le Plan. 12. Go through the village and at the exit, cross the bridge to the left and turn left 70m after the bridge. 13. At the end of the Chemin du Comte, turn right onto the D7 as far as the village of Couladère. 14. At the roundabout, take the second exit on the left and then, 200 m further on, turn left again onto the D49. 15. At the end of the road, turn right onto the D49D, then follow signs for Mauran by turning left onto the D62. 16. Turn slightly left towards the centre of the village of Mauran.

Departing from the small village of Contrazy, this pleasant hike will take you between forest and open views, to contemplate the hills of the foothills topped by the Pyrenean massif. This walk will take you to the highest point in the Volvestre Ariègeois at an altitude of 698 m (signposted). This walk begins on a very pretty path leading up to the ‘old canton of St Girons’. As you follow this boundary, you'll be treated to a beautiful panoramic view of the hilly commune of Montesquieu-Avantès and its farms scattered throughout the landscape. At the end of the forest (marked by a milestone), you will know that you are at the meeting point of three cantons, Le Mas d'Azil to the east, St Girons to the south and Ste Croix to the west, and four communes, Camarade, Montesquieu-Aventès, Contrazy and Mauvezin de Ste Croix. On the way back to Contrazy, just before the village, you'll discover a magnificent view of Lasserre and the Pyrenees, overlooking the church at Montardit. You can also enjoy a view of the fir forest, which in autumn offers a patchwork of colours from the dark green of the firs to the shimmering colours of the broad-leaved trees.

Loop starting from the Chemin de Carraou. Starting from the stone bridge over the River Lens, this loop will take you through the heritage and countryside of the village of Cassagne and the surrounding area, as far as the village of Belbèze-en-Comminges.

Walk starting from the village. A varied path alternating between tracks and woodland approaches, with a number of viewpoints. The hamlet of Monteillas is surrounded by a whole series of stream losses; small openings through which water rushes and becomes underground after a journey on the surface. The best-known example of this in the Ariège is the cave at Mas d'Azil. But the rivers of the periglacial age were much larger!

On this stage, you will discover Bonnefont abbey in its quiet valley and enjoy along the way spectacular views of the Pyrenees.

The first traces of the castle date back to the 14th century. At that time, a tower and perhaps a "castrum" controlled a crossing point at the confluence of the Arize and a stream, the Pas du Rat, forming the border between the counties of Toulouse and Foix. At that time, Palays was a small fortress of plain in the quadrilateral form made up of brick walls crowned with battlements on false machicolations served by a covered way and flanked by four round towers.
