VELOSUD in Haute-Garonne: The route that runs along the Pyrenees, from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean by bike! In Haute-Garonne, coming from Lannemezan, you enter via Saint-Bertrand de Comminges and then Saint-Gaudens. Then continue from Roquefort-sur-Garonne towards the Salat valley to reach the Ariège (Saint-Girons). A pleasant route, often on dedicated cycle paths, with spectacular scenery.

Hike around the episcopal city of Saint-Bertrand de Comminges. A stone's throw away is the Lespugues chasm, a geological curiosity. This hike in the Piedmont region includes a fairly steep climb up to the Mail du Hard, but it does not present any particular difficulty for hikers accustomed to this type of trail. Before setting off, please note that you will have a steep climb of about 20 minutes.

This family walk runs alongside the Garonne. You will enjoy panoramic views of remarkable sites such as Saint-Bertrand de Comminges. Admire the church of Seilhan and its octagonal bell tower with a terrace. In summer, it is not uncommon to see kayakers paddling down the Garonne... An idea for your next outing? When the weather is hot, several beaches along the Garonne are ideal for relaxing. They are perfect for a picnic. In the distance, you can admire the magnificent cathedral of St-Bertrand de Comminges. There are many beaches where you can take a break.

Discover the wild Labat valley, a stone's throw from the Occitanie grand site of "Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges - Valcabrère". This route, mainly through woodland, allows you to explore the surroundings of the city of Convènes. Although there are a few technical difficulties, it remains accessible and enjoyable in all seasons.

A loop at the foot of the Haut-Garonne Pyrenees to prepare for slightly more mountainous routes. Depart from Montréjeau-Gourdan-Polignan station towards Pointis de Rivière, Ardiège and Barbazan. Then you reach Loures Barousse for a ride through the Barousse valley with some nice hills. After St-Bertrand de Comminges, the route is flat back to the starting point.

A loop at the foot of the Haut-Garonne Pyrenees with beautiful hills on country roads. Departure from Montréjeau-Gourdan-Polignan station towards St-Bertrand de Comminges. You will pass close to the Gargas caves. You will tackle a series of hills (Montoussé, St-Arroman, Mazouau, Hèches, Col de Coupe).

Set off to discover the villages of Seilhan and Labroquère on the banks of the Garonne. An easy route where you will encounter your first technical difficulties on a mountain bike. Ideal for enjoying your first mountain biking experience.

Road closed from 30/11 to 15/04, trail inaccessible. Family hike starting from Port de Balès. Everyone will enjoy a picnic by the lake. From Port de Balès, take the path 50 m before you reach the pass, which will take you to Port de Pierrefitte via a track and then to Lac de Bordères via a footpath. Please note that dogs are not allowed in the Massif du Montious nature reserve. Sporty option: From Bourg d'Oueil, follow the GRP signs (red and yellow) to reach Port de Pierrefitte. The elevation gain is 535 metres.

Road closed from 30/11 to 15/04, trail inaccessible. A beautiful hike starting from Port de Balès. You will pass by Lake Bordères and then climb to Pic du Lion, the highlight of the day. This route will allow you to explore the GR de Pays Oueil-Larboust, a 43 km long trail. From Port de Balès, take the trail 50 m before the pass, which will take you to Port de Pierrefitte via a track and then to Lake Bordères via a trail. At the lake, follow the trail climbing up to the left, marked in yellow and red (beware of herds with Patou dogs). Please note that dogs are not allowed in the Massif du Montious reserve.

The itinerary is fully secure and all equipment adheres to strict safety regulations. You will be provided with everything you need: harness, helmet, ropes and carabiners. At the end of your activity, tea and coffee will be served in a traditional shepherd's hut. All participants, young and old, will be presented with an Ardour climbing certificate, as well as photos and a personalized film of the day's highlights.

The antique city of Lugdunum is more than 2000 years old... the Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges site is something to discover by seeing the various monuments coming from various historical periods. Created in the 1st century BC, the capital of Aquitaine Lugdunum Convenae occupied an area of 36 ha for a population estimated between 10,000 and 15,000 inhabitants. The oldest remains found on the site date back to the Emperor Augustus (27 BC; 14). Only a part of the ancient heritage is visible today, such as the thermal baths, the market or the theater. Departmental archaeological museum. A conservation establishment linked to the site of Lugdunum, the ancient capital of the city of the Convents, the Departmental Archaeological Museum of Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges was created in 1985. In parallel with its study and conservation missions, the team of the Departmental Archaeological Museum welcomes researchers, professionals and amateurs alike, and continues its temporary exhibition program.

A major stopover on the roads to Compostela, the Grand Site Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges/Valcabrère offers a remarkable archaeological and monumental heritage. A crossroads of gentle itinerancy, the site is an ideal place for cycling and walking. Ancient Roman city, Lugdunum Convenae was a prosperous city of several thousand inhabitants at the center of an important communication link. It had the attributes of an important Roman city: theater, temple, forum, thermal baths and a vast market. The subsoil of the site of Saint-Bertrand-de Comminges/Valcabrère reveals today its rich ancient heritage. The imposing cathedral of Sainte-Marie is the witness of the ancient bishopric of the Middle Ages. Its cloister open on the hills of the Pyrenean foothills is a place full of charm. The choir of stalls and the organ, both Renaissance, are the other must-sees of the visit. Another flagship monument of the site, the Romanesque basilica of Saint-Just-de-Valcabrère, isolated in the middle of the fields, is particularly unusual. Each year we have continued to renovate and equip the 90m2 gîte so that we can offer quality tourist accommodation at a low price. Over four seasons, we've noticed that women and LGBT+ people don't always feel comfortable in mixed dormitories. In fact, as we only have one dormitory, we haven't always been able to promise a safe space when asked. That's why we'd like to tell you how our project has evolved, in line with our values and the needs we've identified. A more suitable and cosy space. With a view to reopening in 2025, we are going to reorganise the space so that we have a larger, more welcoming dormitory, as well as a private room that can accommodate a couple/family or a small group of friends.
