


This family walk runs alongside the Garonne. You will enjoy panoramic views of remarkable sites such as Saint-Bertrand de Comminges. Admire the church of Seilhan and its octagonal bell tower with a terrace.
In summer, it is not uncommon to see kayakers paddling down the Garonne... An idea for your next outing? When the weather is hot, several beaches along the Garonne are ideal for relaxing. They are perfect for a picnic. In the distance, you can admire the magnificent cathedral of St-Bertrand de Comminges. There are many beaches where you can take a break.
1 - Park your vehicle in the centre of the village of Seilhan in the attractive car park next to the village hall. Leave the car park and turn right towards the church. Enjoy walking through this pretty little village with its charming, flower-filled streets.
2 - At number 30, take a path on the right (yellow mark on post number 78) and follow it until you reach a sign.
4 - When you reach a junction, turn right at the bottom of a few metres' descent. Follow the path, which then climbs slightly.
5 - At the next intersection, take the path downhill on the left. As you go, you can admire a beautiful view, particularly of the Château Valmirande near Montréjeau.
6 - When you reach a paved road, head straight ahead towards the Chemin de la Barraque.
7 - A few hundred metres further on, you will come to a junction. Turn right and then immediately left to follow the path marked ""bords de la Garonne 5mn"" (5 minutes to the banks of the Garonne). On this descent, follow the signs for ""bords de la Garonne"". You will then arrive at the bottom of the descent and see an unusual little passage in front of you. You will need to go through a small tunnel carved into the limestone rock. You will first hear the Garonne river, which then slowly comes into
8 - Follow the path as close to the riverbank as possible, passing several wooden barriers. There are red and yellow markings on the trees. You will need to go through a few fences, so remember to close them behind you. Continue along the path on the right bank of the Garonne until you reach a junction with a tarmac road.
9 - Continue straight ahead – white, red and yellow markings are on the trees. Follow this beautiful path through the woods along the Garonne. You will pass through several wooden barriers.
10 - When you reach an intersection, take the path that branches off at a 90° angle to your left. You will leave the riverbank and, after a short climb, arrive in the middle of fields. Follow the path and, at the next intersection, turn left (signposted Seilhan 20 minutes).
3 - Take the path on the left, which is a little steep for a few metres. Continue along this pretty, shaded path.
11 - At the next intersection, turn right to rejoin the paved road. Follow it to reach the village of Seilhan.
12 - At the intersection, turn right. After 200 metres, turn left onto Caminau. Follow this road to reach the centre of the village – you are almost there. Turn right to return to your vehicle.
