Turn left at the back of the car park, pass the town hall and follow the street to the right for 300m. 1 - Take the little road that goes to the right below the D305 and then take a quick right and go past the cemetery. Go left at the first intersection. After a steep hill, turn right on the small road which turns into a path 200m further. Behind a well marked shift to the right, climb the narrow path to the left. At the top, take the track to the right, then 70m further, continue straight. Turn right again and then left. At the crossroads'Tour de Porchères'', turn left, walk along the tower, go past a house then turn right. Then, from the right, go around the old quarries of Porchères (private property). Take a right at the next Y-shaped fork. 2 - At the crossroads ‘"Petit Sauvan", turn left towards Saint-Jean. Turn left after 150m, then continue straight through a path that narrows down and enters the woods. Reach a track and continue straight along a beautiful house and continue the track. When you come out on the track, turn left on the small road. Go down the road and reach the D305. Continue on the left for 200m. 3 - Turn right, pass between a farm and a shed, then rise slowly. At the first apparent crossroads (transformer) turn left. Go along an old wall, take a slight descend and go up the opposite side of the valley. After a marked turn on the left, turn right and come out on the plateau. Continue straight for 500m. 4 - At the crossroads (point 632), take the path going down to the left and thus reach the D5, a kilometre below. When you come out on the road, take a quick left and take the small road. Continue straight at the next intersection and go down to the village. After the wash-house, turn right and return to the starting point through the streets used to go.

A horseback ride in full which reveals the diversity of the landscapes and the harmony of the rural heritage of the Luberon. Turn left at the back of the parking lot, pass the town hall and follow the street to the right for 300m. 1 - Take two rights. Pass in front of the cemetery, take a left at the 1st intersection and turn right after the steep path. Further down, climb the narrow path to the left. Take a right at the Y-shaped fork. 2 - At the crossroads "Petit Sauvan", turn left towards Saint-Jean. Turn left after 150m and continue straight (low branches). Continue the track, pass a house and turn left on the small road. Descend on the D305 and follow to the left for 200meters (traffic!). 3 - Turn right, go past the shed and ascend calmly (pebbly section). Turn left at the first crossroads, go along an old wall and go down to go up on the plateau. At a series of crossroads, continue straight. Reach to the D5 (traffic!), descend 50m to the right, then turn left. At the crossroads "Le Roure", continue straight. then pass over a home. Take two lefts and reach the D205. Continue on the right until Lincel (traffic!) 4 - In front of the church, turn left and continue straight when exiting the village. Leave the GR on the right to continue on the small road. At the end, go across and pass under a rocky ridge (source) and continue on the path into the woods (smooth slope). After a steep path, take the path on the right going down until the D205. 5 - Follow the road to the right that leads back to St-Michel-l'Observatoire (traffic!). At the entrance of the village, do not turn across the narrow one-way, but continue on the right. At the stop sign, go straight to reach the car park of the starting point.

This mountain bike itinerary knits together the northern and southern flanks of the eastern Luberon. A bumpy and demanding course on the tracks of Giono's paths. Jovial and bright! This trail is never too technically difficult nor too physically easy. Alternating between trails, paths and tracks, it has plenty of surprises in store: fragrant undergrowth, majestic views, a pastoral ravine, a hilltop village and even an eco-museum to while some time... Make the most of it! Highlights: local biodiversity, a sulphur spring, the leafy Forêt de Pélissier, panoramic views from the ridges of the eastern Luberon, olive groves.

Stunning limestone gorges, 2km long and 200m deep in some places! An exceptional heritage, in a dream setting... From the car park and the two belvederes which face each other (accessible to disabled people), go south on the truffled path of lapiaz, which runsmore or less far from the edge of the cliff (vigilance!). 1 - Cross the D201 to continue in front a path that runs alongside a lavender field. Leave the road slightly left, then take the road a little further down. Go down the road for about 30m. 2 - Take the path to the right and join the rock ledge. Farther, the slanting path to the left bypassed the valley of the Grand Vallat. Take the D201, turn right, past the parking lot and cross the large bridge of La Blaque that spans the Calavon. 3 - Right after, take the path on the right to go up the right bank of the gorge. Climb gradually, cross a valley, and emerge on an old collier. After a rocky section (lapiaz), cross two other valleys. Then, go down on the ledge towards the cliff edge (caution!). Reach the end of the ladder, hidden at the edge of the trail. 4 - Continue the path on the ledge, climb up a shortmoment, then cross a rocky pass. Then go down between the cliff edge and a rock slide, to reach the upstream circus of the gorges. At the end of the beautiful cliff, hurtle down the switchbacks up to the river. 5 - Cross the Calavon (caution in the event of a flood!), go in front and then, through a stony path, join the village at the top of the rocky spur. In front of the town hall, turn right, enter the heart of the village and go up to the left an alley to end up on the plateau. Leave the obvious wide path, take a right at the cemetery and follow the trail through the grass to emerge again at the base of the gorges. Turn left and go to the starting car park.

From the Luberon to the Durance, the Calavon river passes through many rocky sites, but none has reached the size of the gorges of Oppedette. Magical! From the car park, go right of the two viewpoints (accessible to persons with disabilities), then take the small winding path that switches left in the gorges. A little further down, cross on the right a first jump using the handrail, and then continue the narrow path with caution. Pass along the last passage equipped with handrails land reach to the edge of a basin on the shores of Calavon. 1 - Turn left and continue advancing in the best possible way along the left bank. Cross a short rocky passage, then continue through the gorges until a more narrow passage. 2 - Cross the river ford (caution in case of flooding!) and locate across the entrance of the trail that goes back on the right bank opposite (pole). Continue slowly on steep slope, then at the top of the valley, go into the dark and damp pitch. Climb the ladder and go onto the sunny side. 3 - Turn left, walk past a viewpoint, and then continue on the cliff path. Go up a little, then cross a rocky path. Then go down between the cliff edge and a rock slide, to reach the upstream circus of the gorges. At the end of the beautiful cliff, hurtle down the switchbacks up to the river. 4 - Cross the ford of the Calavon (caution in case of flooding!), head across, then follow a stony path, reach the village at the top of the rocky outcrop. In front of the town hall, turn right, enter the heartof the village and take an alley on the left to reach the plateau. Leave the obvious wide path, take a right at the cemetery and follow the trail through the grass to emerge again at the base of the gorges. Turn left at the view point and reach the car park from the starting point.

Tour No.11 of the site VTT FFC Pays de Forcalquier - Montagne de Lure. A short but nice getaway, not strenuous but varied. Back towards the tourist office, go right, pass in front of the Notre-Dame du Bourget gate and weave into the Rue Mercière. 1 - Turn left and then right unto Rue Passère. Continue left unto Rue Violette and Avenue Jean Giono. Ascend unto the road and reach the plateau. At the stop sign, continue to go left, on the 3rd departure route, keep left (direction Charembeau) and reach the summit of Plan des Aires. 2 - Just after two cypresses that mark the entrance to a path, turn left between two sycamores and go down the road in the big field. Down below, go straight unto a wooded path. Leave a ramp to the right and continue the single track in dirt (two beautiful banked corners on the left trace). 3 - Reach the road in front of the hotel Charembeau, go right. Turn right at the 1st intersection and take the next left track. Take a right unto the D216. 4 - Up to a pumping station, turn left and go down the Cléoux track. At the 1st left turn, go across on the edge of the field. Continue a little further down the path to the right of the field. Cross a large cultivated area and then go up a path that passes between two beautiful dry stone walls. Go straight on the path of the Grand Oratory said of Chasseou. 5 - Come out on the D216 and take a right on Rue Paradis. Continue straight on Rue Saint-Pierre, Rue Marius Debout, Rue Grande and Rue Planchud. Then, in the Rue des Cordeliers, turn left on Rue Mercière to return to the starting point, Place du Bourget.

Since 1922, our mill extracts extra virgin olive oil, a genuine fruit juice, only with mechanical means to olive oil amateurs’ great joy. For more than 40 years we have been making cosmetics and soap made in a cauldron just like Marseille soap. The harvest of olives is done manually with hand and automatic combs to preserve olives quality. Then, we proceed to the grinding of the fruit with a simple mechanical method, without the addition of chemicals or change in temperature. At the end of the grinding, we get an extra virgin olive oil with a free acidity lower than 0.8%. Our mill produces a local extra virgin olive oil. Our olive oil is peppery and refreshing which is specific to the aglandau olives (90%). The Centre d'Astronomie, which is part of the Observatoire de Haute-Provence, promotes scientific culture and welcomes schoolchildren and adults all year round.

This rather preserved stream and the damp grasslands that border it harbour a remarkable diversity of plants and animals. There is a water spring and precious natural environments in this very dry environment and in some sections, the presence of many rare and protected species: European pond turtle, White-clawed crayfish, Dwarf bulrush (water plant), Souffia (fish) and Mediterranean barbel ... The banks and riparian vegetation are sometimes in poor conditions due to past work.

If you look to the west, a vast plain extends before you in which natural meadows remain. These "flowering meadows" are made of quality flora to feed herds. Often located on areas at risk of flooding, the grass grows naturally. One of these meadows has been evaluated by a panel of student farmers and was awarded at the International Agricultural Show in Paris in March 2016.

This walk goes through a wide basin, slightly hilly, consisting of a real landscape mosaic. This diversity is related to the sporadic presence of rock and water that allowed the development in certain areas of lush farming. This bucolic landscape is embellished with vast panoramas of the Luberon to the south, the Lure mountain to the north and the Alps to the east. The villages, with their well marked outline, are located on rocky spurs on the outskirts of the valley.

Kept for the production of acorns and the renewal of forests, some trees measure more than 50cm in diameter. Several hundred years old, they carry with them the signs of aging. A true social housing for insects and bats, these residents occupy the slots and holes made by woodpeckers. To preserve the wood cuts, the trees were inventoried and marked with a white triangle.

"[...]. A stream is located far back, under the willows. It's the Largue river. A Largue quite large. It doesn't flow like all streams, equal torrents, but sleeps in deep holes then the water slides from one hole to the other, carrying fishes, then everything stops and rain is expected on the plateaus. When we look at these water holes, [...], I understood why the girls were drowning: it's the door to a country, it is a departure point [...] "

The right bank tributary of the Durance, the river basin of the Largue is modest with its 372km². It is a varied territory stretching from the Lure mountain to the plain of the Durance, through the hills and plateaus of the central region and the Luberon Oriental mountainous areas. The Largue, and its main tributary the Laye, are the identity of several living areas. The diversity of the territory is shown in land use and activities related to water availability.

Dated from the 12th century, this tower is classified a historical monument. In the archives, this tower is reported as a barn. It therefore certainly stored crops but probably also served as a watchtower. In 1861, it was converted into a chapel by the owner back then, Léon de Berluc-Perussis. The stone door calls to linger. A village of a dozen families had settled around the tower in the early 17th century.

Do not dig, there is only limestone. Here the soil is not deep, the calacil is thin. And so, each crack is an opportunity for an acorn to find something to root on and grow on a holm oak. Slow growing, it measures up to 30cm in diameter despite being a centenarian. To prevent water loss through evaporation, this species has evolved over thousands of years by keeping small leaves.

In astronomy and astrophysics, the site hosts several instruments, including the telescope of 1.93m in diameter that led to the discovery of the first exoplanet; it features an innovative spectrograph which ranks among the best in the world.
