Uncover Ribiers from Camping de Pierre Impie

Beautiful challenging hike to reach the ridge of Roc de l'Aigle and its view overlooking the Pays du Buëch and the Jabron Valley. The difficulty of the hike increases all along, up to the ridge. From the fountain in Ribiers ,follow the direction of Sisteron and take the first road on the right. After the cemetery and the bridge, take the road on the right towards "les Charles". 3 hairpin bends further (you may park on the right along the road to avoid a round trip), follow the road for 250 m then branch off to the right and enter a field. Walk along it on the opposite side, then cross a dell (often dry stream) across the forest edge . Climb the slope through the dry lawns then reach an old orchard where the slope softens. Go up to its top (large stone), then continue ascent by slanting to the right. The route winds through dry lawns, passes along a water reservoir and then runs along a hedge between two meadows. It continues through an undergrowth of oaks and junipers until it reaches a track. At the junction with the track, turn left. At the next crossroads, follow the right track. Ignore the different paths and follow the main track. At the intersection, turn right on the perpendicular track. A few steps further, take the path to the left in thick undergrowth. It leads to the path of Pierre Impie. Then turn right, pass the bend and the fence. The balcony track overlooks the Buëch valley and the orchards. The track gives way to a path that climbs rapidly. It skirts the Rock of Pierre Impie. You may see climbers on this impressive stone wall. The path is quite steep and passes through some slippery scree. Once on the ridge, pay attention, don’t be distracted by the panorama while walking. The ground is quite rocky and a few rocky stairs follow one another. At the end of this ridge for a while, you will need to use your hands for progressing. The most curious among your group will go on the right to see a small gravestone on a stratum. At the end of the ridge, a shady path leads down to Ubac. A few switchbacks follow one another, some of them quite steep. On the way out of the woods, walk along a fence. Stay straight on the slope, cutting several cross tracks. When there is no more path, it is on the right; a small ruin remains on a ledge. Follow this path to reach a marker post (N ° 389) and walk back to the left.

A quiet walk to discover the charming village of Ribiers, the apple trees and the river Buëch. From the Place de la Fontaine, take the road to Laragne a moment north and quickly turn right on the street des Granges. Cross the narrow streets of the village of Ribiers. Turn left on the road to Mison (D 522) and cross the Sisteron Canal (caution, portion on road). Continue on the road along the stream of Clarescombes and just before the bridge over Buëch, turn right. Take this peaceful path that takes the "river edge" from where Ribiers takes its name, on the dam built in the thirteenth century and has helped secure the village and its development. This path is very pleasant and rather well shaded (several benches on the way). At the crossroads, continue left and then turn right just after the locality of Grand Pré Gris (after the building that can be seen on the right and just after the Torrent de Barbelle). Cross the Route of Sisteron and take the path 20 m further to continue along the torrent Barbelle. Cross the Sisteron canal and the long agricultural plain bordering the leisure center. The path leads to the path of Notre Dame des Faysses which must be taken on the left. Along the cemetery and at the corner of it, turn left on the road to the Combe. Go to La Combe and Chaudon. At the crossroads of Secours, cross the road of la Montagne to continue straight on the GRP. The route crosses many fields of fruit trees. In the turn, leave the GRP and the road to take a path on the right. It leads to the place called La Rata. Reach Ribiers by the rue de la Draille.

Cet itinéraire, au départ de Ribiers, emprunte des terrains très variés : chemin, sentier, petit sous-bois, gué ou encore vergers. Il présente un condensé des difficultés de l'activité VTT mises à la portée des débutants. De la place de la Fontaine, traverser le centre de Ribiers par la Grand'Rue. Un peu après la mairie, prendre à droite la Route de Preparadis jusqu'à l'angle du cimetière. Longer le cimetière en tournant à droite sur la route de la Combe. Passer à la Combe et Chaudon. Au croisement du Secours, traverser la route de la Montagne pour poursuivre tout droit sur le GRP. L'itinéraire traverse de nombreux champs d'arbres fruitiers. Dans le virage, quitter le GRP et la route pour emprunter un chemin sur la droite. Il mène au lieu-dit La Rata. Atteindre Ribiers par la rue de la Draille.

4 jours et une centaine de kilomètres pour la découverte de belles vallées secrètes à cheval Crêtes et panoramas grandioses invitent les cavaliers à de grandes galopades, avant de goûter aux rafraîchissantes Gorges de la Méouge et à la Vallée de la Durance. Tout au long de cette randonnée, découvrer le Sud de ce Pays, avec ses trois rivières et ses villages perchés qui offrent de magnifiques paysages sur la région.Ce voyage conduit tantôt en plaine à travers de grands espaces, tantôt en montagne, ou de vastes alpages et de nombreux belvédères s'ouvrent aux visiteurs!

Itinéraire familial très bref qui permet de découvrir le Château de Mison ainsi que le corps du village qu’il domine. Le sentier offre en chemin un panorama remarquable sur le Buëch et la Meouge. Du Parking, suivre la direction de La Fontaine par le Château. Le sentier domine la vallée du Buëch. Sont visibles les villages de Chateauneuf, Antonaves et Ribiers. Arrivée dans le village, remonter en direction de la Fontaine à travers les ruelles. De la Fontaine, suivre la direction des Aires par le Château.

Overlooking Mison village, The Romeyères plateau is covered with lavender which can really be appreciated during summer. This family walk offers a huge panoramic view on the Ecrins and Dévoluy summits. It also allows you to discover Mison old village in which the castle, Ste Baume chapel and its cemetery are located. From the parking lot, go up on the plateau by the tarred road (called “montée des Romeyères”). Continue alongside the lavender fields on a track leading to the public forest of Mison – with a lot of conifers. Go on the track which gradually becomes a slope heading to Mison. The track progressively becomes a path. At the village, go straight to the fountain. From the fountain, go up to the street on your right leading to the parking lot.

Cet itinéraire familial de 5 km, au cœur d'une végétation sud-alpine, conduit d’Antonaves à la Méouge (la plus méridionale des rivières des Hautes-Alpes). Le site classé Natura 2000 présente une belle diversité de milieux naturels et abrite des espèces animales remarquables qui font des Gorges de la Méouge un lieu unique. De la place de la fontaine, monter en direction du Pic St-Cyr par la route de droite. Au croisement (poteau « Rivet »), bifurquer à droite sur la piste qui longe les champs de lavande et d’anciens vergers en direction de la plaine. La piste se transforme progressivement, laissant place à un large chemin rocheux qui domine la vallée du Buëch. Au poteau « La Plaine », s’infléchir à droite sur le sentier qui s’engage à travers la végétation. Dans la forêt de chênes, emprunter à droite le sentier caillouteux qui descend jusqu’aux gorges délaissant le sentier principal en face (Attention : intersection peu visible). Descendre progressivement en finissant par découvrir le village de Pomet, visible sur le versant qui fait face et la Méouge en contrebas. Dans le sous-bois de pins (poteau « La Pinède ». Aller-Retour possible au Pont-Roman), s’engager sur le sentier qui grimpe à travers la forêt et se poursuit en balcon en dominant la Méouge et le Buëch. Le sentier devient une piste qui reconduit au village.

This quite physical hiking leads to a lookout point onto the Buëch valleys, the Méouge river and the surrounding massifs. The spring flora offered by the slope along the ridge is worthy of interest. From the fountains, go on the road hiking up to a fork upon the village. The fork transforms into a path. Turn left – at the signpost « Pic Saint Cyr » - and go on the steep wide path. You can sometimes enjoy the path when it crosses some hairpin bends until a forest house. Turn right on an old sledge track (which was used to transport heat wood). In a wide bend, hike up into a bank where the path ends up at Saint Pierre pass (1269 meters). On your right, take the steep forest path crossing « le pas du Loup » - a curious way between rocks - and go on the rise. Hike up on your right a stair like path and admire the panoramic view from Saint Cyr peak (1365 meters). Go down at the junction. Reach the ridge and go down along the path until a box trees area. After a rocky part, reach the signpost (950 meters, it is quite visible uphill). Turn off on your left and follow a path more or less visible. Cross an old pine wood leading to a clearing. Turn right and reach a wide tilted plateau. Go along the wide track on your right, which will soon become a slope going down to the fork taken before. Go back to the parking lot.

Un circuit facile sur le plateau de Saint-Didier. Route, chemin, passage sous-bois : un itinéraire à profil plat à la portée de toute la famille. Sur le parking en bord de route, prendre la direction contraire de Sisteron sur la D 951 (prudence). Tourner à gauche à la première intersection. Quitter la départementale et suivre le chemin principal sur 850 m. Rester à gauche (vers le Château de St-Didier). Passage sous les arbres puis tourner à droite puis gauche. Prendre à droite et suivre le chemin de terre qui longe le canal de la Laune. Au niveau de l'intersection, ne pas bifurquer à la Laune mais tourner à droite et rester sur le chemin. Au carrefour entre La Bastide et Crudy, prendre à droite jusqu'à l'intersection puis prendre le sens inverse de l'itinéraire jusqu'au parking.

Circuit peu difficile et assez court avec de nombreux centres d’intérêts : une jolie cabane troglodyte, la « pétête » (marionnette), une tour sculptée par l’érosion, les ruines du château du XIIIème siècle (la légende du baron de Mévouillon conte que le diable vint chercher l’âme et détruisit le château). Depuis le parking de l’auberge, prendre la route vers Laragne, et au carrefour suivre la petite route qui va à l’école. Au niveau de celle-ci, tourner à gauche sur le « Chemin du relais » pour atteindre le hameau de Grange Neuve (d’ici commence la boucle). Au hameau, prendre la petite route goudronnée, entourée de magnifiques chênes, qui monte et serpente jusqu’à une dernière maison à flanc de colline. Continuer sur la piste passant un peu plus loin devant des maisons troglodytes dans un rocher sableux (sorte de tour après le petit ruisseau à gauche de la piste). Le chemin devient un peu sableux et des joncs bordent le passage. Ici se trouvent les ruines du vieux village de Châteauneuf où des siècles d’histoire y règnent. Des terriers de blaireaux bordent la piste. Celle-ci recommence à monter. Quelques centaines de mètres après, lorsque l’on arrive sur la ligne de crête, il est possible d’aller visiter les ruines du château à gauche. Après avoir profité du panorama sur les méandres du Buëch, remonter la ligne de crête pour atteindre le sommet de Pirivigier, traversez une pinède pour rejoindre ensuite un vaste pâturage, offrant en juin une magnifique pelouse fleurie (Aphyllanthe de Montpellier). Le sentier continue à monter jusqu’à un bosquet de pins (jonction avec un itinéraire VTT). Prendre à gauche le sentier (très peu marqué) qui descend le long de la prairie sèche en lisière de forêt. Le sentier s’élargit pour devenir un chemin 4x4. Le suivre toujours en face en longeant l’orée du bois. Lorsque le chemin dessine un virage à droite à travers un bosquet de petits chênes, emprunter le sentier qui plonge à gauche. Après 150 mètres, à une jonction de sentier, virer sur le sentier de droite. La vue s’ouvre sur Châteauneuf lorsque celui-ci bifurque à gauche à travers de jolis blocs rocheux. Suivre les lacets du sentier pour rejoindre une piste sur la gauche. Poursuivre jusqu’à la jonction avec la route. Suivre celle-ci à droite et revenir au point de départ en suivant le même cheminement qu’à l’aller.

The harvest of olives is done manually with hand and automatic combs to preserve olives quality. Then, we proceed to the grinding of the fruit with a simple mechanical method, without the addition of chemicals or change in temperature. At the end of the grinding, we get an extra virgin olive oil with a free acidity lower than 0.8%. Our mill produces a local extra virgin olive oil. Our olive oil is peppery and refreshing which is specific to the aglandau olives (90%). Nearly 400 olive growers bring their olives to supply you with: - Green fruity olive oil - Local olive oil All our products are available at our shop and online shop: olive oil, homemade products, Marseille soaps… We also make basil, mint and lemon oils. More than a mere river, the Durance is a force of nature. From its source in Mongenèvre at an altitude of 2300 metres it rolls its way over 302 kilometres until it finally flows into the Rhône. The Lake of Mison - Upaix belongs since its creation in 1960 to the Water-Bodies Association (ASA) of the plateau de Mison  for  crop irrigation. Since the construction of the Serre-Ponçon dam and the Ventavon canal, this 23-hectare lake has only been used as a back-up reserve for tree-growing. Designed for agriculture, it has become a sensitive natural space. The presence of many protected species of plants and birds, but also the importance of the lake in the landscape, makes out of this site an exceptional place for nature and environment. It is everyone’s responsibility to preserve it by taking care of it.
