Chapel dedicated to Saint-Sébastien, decorated and painted by the artist Patrick Moya in 2018. The interior of the Saint Sébastien chapel in Le Mas, officially unveiled in October 2019, has been entirely decorated by Nice artist Patrick Moya. On the inner walls and ceiling of this chapel, the artist has painted a mural that tells the story of the life of San Sebastian, a tale that resonates with the village’s history dating back to Roman times, as well as with the artist’s own world and his research in the realm of contemporary art. The wall-to-wall work is a blend of sacred and secular: the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian, the Hospitallers, the venerable family of Provençal nobles known as La Famille de Grasse, the Lérins monks, the American aviators hidden and protected by local residents during World War II. Religious symbolism, clever nods to eras and events, quotations – everything is deftly incorporated, bathed in the same Mediterranean light, interpreted with the same poetry. The village's emblem, the bridge over the Bévéra, was first mentioned on the Nice-Piémont road in the 13th century. Pont-vieux de Sospel is a fortified bridge measuring 36 meters long and 5.5 meters wide. It is distinguished by its central tower, a medieval vestige, and its two asymmetrical arches spanning the Bévéra river. Mentioned as early as 1217, the original bridge was made of wood. In 1522, a stone bridge was built, with two arches supporting the deck and a defensive tower. The bridge served as a passageway for mule caravans carrying salt and merchandise between Nice and Piedmont, and a toll was charged for its use. The central tower housed a fashion business at the beginning of the XXᵉ century and, until 1960, was home to a basket-maker. In 1944, during the retreat of German troops, the bridge was destroyed. It was rebuilt identically between 1952 and 1957, reusing the same stones. Only the lower part of the central pier remains of medieval origin. Today, the Pont-vieux houses temporary exhibitions inside the tower.

Fortification part of the Maginot line. It is a small artillery work that aimed to prohibit the Brouis pass connecting the Roya valley to the north and the Bévéra valley to the south. Built close to the Col de Brouis fort, these barracks housed the troops responsible for the artillery and operation of this structure, as well as soldiers from the outposts at cime du Bosc and Cougoule. During the fighting for the liberation of Breil-sur-Roya in April 1945, the Germans dug in and inflicted heavy losses on the Free French of the 1st DFL. Severely damaged by shells and bombs, the fort was abandoned to the army.

The Griffon Vulture is one of the largest raptors in France that can reach nearly 3 m wingspan for a weight of 6 to 7 kg. Like all scavengers, vultures recycle corpses and thus participate in the great life cycle. If luck is with you, you will be able to see it at Cheiron's summit.

From his latin name, Parnassuis Appolo, the Apollo is a large butterfly with a wingspan of 35 to 40 mm. These wings represent red and black drawings and ocelli that appear as decoys for their predators.

The crimson-purple colour of the flowers of this geranium of its Latin name, Geranium sanguineu, prevents any confusion with other species. Its leaves are cut into strips and turn red in autumn, hence the hint of blood. This plant from June to September, likes dry and hot soils.
