A walk to discover Rozelieures. This village of 161 inhabitants is a place of patriotic pilgrimage. In 1914, it played both a dramatic and historical role as it was here that the German army suffered its first major failure.

A walk to discover St-Rémy, proposed by the "Tourism" working group of the Communauté de Communes du Bayonnais and the association Anim'Crevéchamps. This village is, as its name suggests, surrounded by forests. You have to cross or walk along them to access them. Burned, then razed by the First World War, it is a village entirely rebuilt to the "best" of what happened in the 1950s.

Thanks to the FRPP for the creation of this hike and for the work done by its teams throughout the year to mark out and maintain these paths. A trail that is mostly in forest, shaded in summer, with many cultural and natural attractions. Distance: 11km, duration approx. 3.5 hours Marking: Red ring Different departures: MORIVILLE Salle de la Louvière or PORTIEUX Verrerie This hiking trail takes you to La Louvière and its path in the Forêt Communale, composed mostly of hundred-year-old pedunculate oaks. At the curve in the path, two Siamese hornbeams invite you to visit the old Charmes-Rambervillers railway line, which was put into service in 1871 and disused in 1943. The platform of the traveller's halt and its period lime trees are the only witnesses of that time. The cavities in the Scots pine forest in the Hichère ravines remind us of an old plaster quarry and in the hillock, a shooting range lined with badger burrows. Rancerot and its stream, partly supplied by the Fontaine Ferrée, its wild boar park (private) and the communal Arboretum with its many species. At the top of the Tranchée du Torlot, the crossing of the magnificent beech forest leads us to the foot of a Cormier (remarkable tree). Below, the reed bed of the Hemmerey stream, filled with irises, and higher up, a young oak-hemlock forest coming from natural regeneration. Leaving the communal forest, stop at the Portieux glassworks on the hillside and its three centuries of history

The departmental committee of cycling tourism and Meurthe-et-Moselle Tourism offers a large "round trip" bike circuit linking the hill of Sion-Vaudémont to Lunéville. Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Rich in the Gallo-Roman past of Arlon, the museum houses an impressive collection that bears witness to the daily life of this period.One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments.These blocks and the objects from Roman craftsmanship will teach you more about daily life at that time.

The Church of Magnières is a very beautifull Church from the 19th century. This edifice shows 5 gravestones from the 16th century. Built in 1870, this Church was not finished when the 1st World War begun in year 1914. On the front of the edifice, you can see a Blessed Virgin statue from the 16th century. Inside, you will find a Christ statue in real size, an interesting sculpture, and a marbled Pieta. The more important things to discover in this Church are : the 5 gravestones about the lords of Haraucourt-Magnières, and the bones of Saint-Pauline. The patron saint of this place is Saint-Laurent. The organ sideboard "Alfred Wild" is from year 1990. Sometimes, concerts are organized at the Church of Magnières during the programme "The street of organs". Opening and visit ONLY ON REQUEST.

The Exhibition of Earthenware in Magnières is the only private museum of Lunévillois country that show, in a pleasant setting, several pieces of earthenware producted in the former factories of Lunéville and the cities around (such as Saint-Clément, Moyen, Domèvre-sur-Vezouze, Badonviller, Pexonne, Rambervillers and so on …). This exhibition place also presented pieces from others factories of the East of France. The earthenware objects showed in Magnières have been manufactured between the middle of 18th century and the end of 20th century. Free entrance.

Fontenoy-la-Joûte book village welcomes thousands of visitors every year. 8 second-hand professional booksellers, a calligrapher and artist have transformed the old farms into shops, which house hundred of thousands of old books as well as second-hand books for every budget. This typical Lorraine village dating back to the 12th century has a population of 280 inhabitants and is situated 10 minutes (by car) from Baccarat, crystal town. You can see Saint Peter's chapel (13th century) in the village which marks th line between the Paris basin and the Vosges massif. This castle, built in 1444, suffered numerous sieges until 1639 when, taken one last time, it was dismantled by order of Richelieu. Its architecture, adapted to the beginnings of artillery, makes it a unique castle in Lorraine. The seigneurial house houses many exhibitions (local archaeology, class 1900, Lorraine earthenware...) To see nearby: Church of Moyen, bridge dating from the Middle Ages to Moyen, the draisines in Magnières. Every year, the Château is animated by youth workcamps during the summer period in order to create new cultural spaces. It also welcomes school groups for discovery days, only by reservation.

The Church of Moyen is from the 14th century. This Church shows a tower with steeple that is setted on the side (not as usually at the entrance), and this entrance is surmonted by 2 little towers. Open only on request.

This Arboretum was introduced by the city hall by Vathiménil. The visitors will have the opportunity to discover a colored and instructive walk.

The Chapel Notre-Dame of Mervaville was erected in year 1924 by the inhabitants of Flin's village, in order to thank Saint Notre-Dame of Mervaville which have avoid the Flin's inhabitants from death during the 1st World War. Saint Notre-Dame of Mervaville was a priory, built in 1150 inside the Mervaville former village, destroyed during the 30 Years War. This Chapel has been enlarged in 1938, to be integrate in missionaries-school "Augustin Schoeffler" ... Nowadays this repaired edifice welcomes concerts several times a year.

On the 25th August 1914, several soldiers of the 38th Regiment (from Saint-Etienne) settle at beginning of the Wood of La Rappe, in order to avoid the german threat on the left side of french soldiers in Baccarat. As early as the first shoots coming from the bridge in Baccarat, the german soldiers move forward. These german soldiers shoot on french soldiers, that take refuge in the Wood of La Rappe. A violent fight start, that last lot of hours. After the battle, there have been about 400 died people within the 2 camps, and as many as injured men. Several cemeteries and collective pits were setted up. On the site of the biggest cemetery, to remind the killed soldiers, this Memorial with a big white cross was erect in 1927. The dead bodies of soldiers were transfered about year 1925 to the National Cemetery of Badonviller.

In 1305, King Henry the 1st has resolved to built a turn, called as The Voués Turn (Voués means Defensers), in order to protect the houses of slaves. The access to the Turn was made by a hole pierced in the rampart. This hole is still visible, but now walled up. The vestiges of walls and castle of Baccarat, built in 1330, were accessible by a huge and vaulted passage, still used nowadays by residents and tourists. Free guided tour, outside.

The Church of Deneuvre has been built between 1742 and 1747, instead of the castle, with a part of stones coming from the old castle. The construction of this Church was decided under the reign of Duke Stanislas, until year 1755, when the Presbytery and the neighbouring houses have been built. With its massive appearance, the turn of Church Saint-Remy is surmounted by a steeple in the shape of bud, ended with a little bell. It is a perfect example of "barn" church, that means without pillar. This Church of Deneuvre shows a group of statues and a furniture almost entirely listed as Historical Monuments. Most of the stone statues from the XVIth century come from the first church (from 1310 to 1715). A marbled master-altar, a stately painting from the XVIIIth century, and 3 chandeliers made of cristal from Baccarat's firm complete the ornament of this Church. The masterpiece of Church Saint-Remy is, in an indisputable way, the organ that date from 1704 : restored in year 1996, the organ is with 22 categories divided into 3 keyboards and a pedal "à la Française".
