It is 45 minutes south of Paris, in Essonne and in the heart of the Pocancy Forest, that we welcome you, on reservation only. The site is accessible by the RER C, Lardy station located 20 minutes walk from the site (or 5 minutes by bike). You can rent 2 cabins: "Les Rochers" and "Ilex", in the trees, in the heart of the forest where you can enjoy calm, vegetation and fauna. The cabin "Les Rochers" (19 m²) can accommodate 3 people, including 1 or 2 children from 4 years accompanied by an adult. The cabin "Ilex" (19 m²) can accommodate 2 people, including 1 young from 16 years if accompanied by an adult. They are equipped with independent dry toilets, a water reserve of 5 liters and a basin. Bedding: duvet cover, pillows, pillow cases and fitted sheet. Backpack delivered upon arrival: Water bottle, headlamps, candles, candle lights.

The association Rêv'Anion, located in Essonne between Lardy and Janville sur Juine, offers to visitors of all ages the chance to explore the Gillevoisin castle and its surrounding forests with one or more donkeys with hiking pack. Different possible circuits, adapted to the capacities of each one. Map provided with marked trails. Everything is explained before departure. Theme walks and hikes for groups all year round. All equipment is provided to leave in peace with his fellow traveler. Our association also offers animal mediation sessions, adapted for people in fragile situations. Discovery and initiation to land yachting on the former air base 217 tracks. Introductions to land yachting, supervised on marked, secured and adapted circuits, are set up on the tracks by state-certified instructors. The driving begins after a few minutes of explanation and material preparation. The instructor makes the course evolve according to the progress made by the drivers, their wishes, the weather, the ground configuration, etc. Regularly during the session, the monitor intervenes collectively and individually to advance the practitioners. Sometimes, when the weather and the practitioners skills allow it, rides in land yacht on the site can be organized. Boussard Park is a garden of the "Art Deco" era created in 1927 - the only one of its kind in Île-de-France! Its design is simple and consistent with the architectural trends of the era of "Art for All", which wanted to make beautiful with simple and economical materials: industrial bricks, concrete slabs, mosaics of broken tiles and stairs hewn sandstone.

La Doudou is a cattle farm located nearby the forest in Cheptainville. It offers visits of the farm. In the shop, they sell a lot of food produced in the farm. This educational farm offers tours during which you can admire more than sixty dairy goats, as well as cows, horses, pigs, donkeys, ponies, the farmyard with its chickens, geese, ducks… Milking goats and cows takes place around 4:00 p.m. The farm also houses the Bois Blanc agricultural museum which will transport you to the past with its collection of items and old tools on agriculture and rural life. The farm produces milk and transforms it into cheeses, cottage cheese, cream, butter. It also sells raw and pasteurized milk.

Property of the Departmental Council of Essonne, the Domain of Chamarande is classified as a historical monument. The park of 98 ha has been refitted by landscape architect Jacques Sgard. The Domain also houses the departmental archives. Atypical, heritage and cultural site, the Departmental Domain of Chamarande is a key element of Essonne territory. Acquired in March 2002 by the Departmental Council of Essonne, the Domain of Montauger covers 15 hectares at the base of the Brie hillsides and hosts the House of the Environment. This feudal fortress was built in the late 13th century. This feudal fortress was built in the late 13th century. According to an inscription still visible in 1667, the castle was built for Hugues de Bouville. Farcheville Castle is a lowland fortress, an unusual arrangement for the region. Notably, it includes a large rectangular enclosure surrounded by moats, flanked by towers at the corners whose machicolations are carried by large broken arches between the buttresses. In the middle of one side, the entrance opens into the rectangular courtyard, next to a pavilion dating from the early 17th century. The old stately house was probably in the south-east, which had already become the castle farm in the 18th century. Inside the castle, you will find a stately room, a tithe barn, commons, a dovecote, sheds and stables, a vaulted chapel with decor probably dating from the early 14th century. After some revolutionary destruction, a restoration was undertaken between 1811 and 1840. From 1899, important restorations were carried out on the enclosure.

In 1964, the famous singer Claude François, who is looking for a peaceful place to rest, discovers a water mill of the 12th century in the pretty village of Dannemois. Claude François quickly named his house "The Mill". He spent 14 years making this house the magical place he always dreamed of and a festive rendezvous for his celebrity friends. Faithful to Dannemois, he lived there until his death in 1978 and was buried in the village's cemetery where his fans can pay tribute to him. Since 1998, The Mill is shining again thanks to Mr and Mrs Lescure, a couple of bakers, who bought it to make museum. The owners decided to reconstitute this "Farm of Happiness" identically as it was when Claude François lived here. The museum's collection is regularly expanded where you will discover his costumes, some touring objects, his bedroom and bathroom. There is a also a restaurant where you can eat and sometimes enjoy a singing and dancing show. The gift shop will allow you to buy some souvenirs of this magical visit. A tea room is also at your disposal to wait for the next visit, as well as a giant screen showing the most beautiful shows of Claude François.

The church of Moigny changed a lot throughout the centuries. Several curiosities can be seen inside of it. The church of Moigny-sur-École was built during the 12th century, when it was the first Gothic age. However, some traces of Roman art were found on the altar. The church was greatly damaged during the Hundred Years War which led to a rebuilding of the church at the end of the 15th century. The bell tower was totally rebuilt during the 16th century. Those numerous works throughout the centuries gave a dissymmetrical look to the church. The only vestiges remaining of the 12th century’s church are a part of the arches. All parts of the church are made of different architectural styles and the inside is full of decoration, especially a magnificent fresco representing the education of Virgin Mary by Sainte Anne. The modillion cornice of the apse is adorned with a frieze, which is extremely rare in the Gâtinais, also it is one of the oldest parts of the church. The frieze is a representation of 40 human faces who are the elders of the Apocalypse, but only 32 faces are still visible nowadays. Inside the church, a fresco of the education of Virgin Mary is located on the spandrel, near the transept. It can hardly be seen nowadays. This fresco is quite original as it represents the Earth as flat. It is supposed that the fresco was made before 1492 and the European discovery of America when people still believed the Earth was flat. The church and several pieces of furniture (the bell, some statues, a painting of the pilgrims of Emmaus) were classified as part of the Monuments Historiques in 1926. The stained-glass windows are contemporary because they were made in 2006 when the church was restored, also they are inspired by important moments from the Bible. The church of Moigny is dedicated to Saint-Denis (Saint Denis) also known as Saint Denis of Paris. He lived during the 3rd century and was from Italy. He was the first bishop of Paris. The legend goes that he died as a martyr and beheaded with other saints in Montmartre and then was buried in Saint-Denis. The basilica Saint-Denis was built at the place where he was buried. This basilica is also the place where most Kings and Queens of France are buried. Saint Denis is always represented holding his own head in his hands. He is the secondary patron saint for the French monarchy. A unique artistic discovery hidden in the forest of Milly-la-Forêt In the heart of the wood of Milly-la-Foret hides a 22.50 meter sculpture of 350 tons of steel. A concrete sculptural work, made of metal and covered partially with mirrors, high as a seven-storeyed building, it takes center stage at the heart of the forest of Milly. Monumental and hidden, it scrutinizes the environment with its unique and golden eye. When the mythological monster wakes up, starts up and mutters, the visitor is invited to enjoy an experience of total art. Jean Tinguely, his wife Nikki de St Phalle and their friends began the building site in 1969. Numerous artists collaborated in a family and festive atmosphere. Without authorization and with their own deniers, they worked from recycled materials. But the Cyclop being regularly vandalized, Jean Tinguely had to entrust his big work to the French State in 1987. Finished 25 years after the first works, the Cyclop is inaugurated and opened to the public in 1994. It is registred on the inventories of the National Art collection of contemporary art, a state collection managed by the National Centre for the Visual Arts (CNAP). Due to security measures, children under 8 years old (even accompanied) can’t come inside the sculpture. Access around the Cyclop is free. Only guided visits inside the Cyclop and are lasting 45 minutes. There is an online ticketing service available to book your visit to the Cyclop in advance. Tickets can also be purchased on site, but it is strongly recommended to book ahead to secure your spot, as guided tour groups are limited to a maximum of 25 visitors. At the traffic circle arriving to Milly, direction Etampes (D837). 200 meter ahead, turn right on the finger wave track "Le Cyclop" until the parking. Then walk for 10 minutes on the pedestrian track leading to the sculpture.
