Beautiful route towards the top of Gariglian with a panoramic view of the Mercantour valley and the entire Mediterranean coast from Menton to Nice. From the Gorbio car park, head north-west of the Rank valley via a paved path. After passing the DFCI Valmour trail, continue your ascent to reach the trail. Once arrived at the small source of Romin, follow the mule track which arrives on the right bank of the valley. Soon the landscape changes and the forest will welcome you to its lairs. Around the Col de la Madone and near the limestone fortress of Baudon, you will have to take the opposite direction to reach the Cabanelles plateau. Cross the summit of Galian, begin the descent on the lower Cabanelles to be able to take the path that will lead you to the Col de la Coupière. To return to Gorbio, you will have to take a northerly direction which will lead to a concrete path of one km.

A rounded peak surrounded by limestone bars with peaks, Mont Gros abruptly dominates the bay of Roquebrune and the vast beach of Cabbé where paragliders and hang gliders find an ideal landing ground. From the Col de la Coupière (440 m), head south up the DFCI Trois Monts track (GR 51) before soon turning left onto the small diverticulum known as the "Rossignola"; this brings you to a significant bend in the road where you leave the track once again for the path that rises up the ubac of Mont Gros to a small collet located just above the nearby summit. Make a short return journey to the take-off area to admire the panorama of the summit of Mont Gros (686 m) and the prowess of the "libéristes" on their way to the beach of Cabbé, the ideal landing area. From the collet of Mont Gros, descend due south along a good path facing the sea on the generously reforested adret; when you reach the Fenouil houses, turn left to cross the eastern side of Mont Gros horizontally. A final climb through a coppice of yew trees takes you back to a small pass where you can follow the same route as before; you can easily reach the Coupière pass by the path, then the track followed on the way up. Road access From the N.7 at Cap Martin, go up the D.51 road towards La Turbie for 2.5 km. On the inside of a large curve, turn right onto the D.50 road leading to Gorbio; follow this road for 1 km and then turn left onto the narrow and steep asphalt path of La Coupière which leads to the car park of the pass (440 m).

Itinerary to discover the remains of an oppidum classified as a Historic Monument in 1939 built by the Celto-Ligurian populations. From Avenue Camille Blanc in Beausoleil, take the Tivoli stairs. Cross the Avenue du Carnier, and take the Oradour Sur Glane staircase, then the rue des Lucioles. Then cross the road to the middle corniche Prince Rainier III and continue opposite on the Chemin de la Crémaillère. After 200m, turn right to join the avenue des Combattants d'Afrique du Nord and right again to access the path to the Mont des Mules site. The path, from the avenue, circles the site and stops at the orientation table. Go back down to Beausoleil on foot by the same route. Possibility of taking bus n ° 11 to return to Beausoleil.

Hiking with views of Menton Bay and surrounding mountains, from Mount Razet (1,285 m) Maginot works of “la Pierre Pointue” where blockhouses, galleries, casemates or other turrets literally fill the ground From the Col de Castillon car park (730 m), follow on foot (north) the small road reserved for the residents of the Biatonéa district. A path soon rises to the left above a few houses; take it to a flat area and continue the ascent along a wide path with a steep gradient, which is followed by a winding path that winds through the cliffs of Mont Roulabre. You reach a fork in the road (1,168 m - b.92) just below the Scuvion drop; from here, head south on a quasi-horizontal crossing that leads via beacon 93 to the southern shoulder of Mount Razet where the "Pierre Pointue" (1,176 m) stands, a grey limestone tooth surrounded by military works. It is possible from this point to climb to the summit of Mont Razet (orientation table) by a small confidential path (b.93a); in this case add 110 m of ascent for 30 minutes of walking back and forth. Go back to marker 93, then descend on a beautiful winding path that runs through scree at the foot of a system of limestone bars. An oak grove precedes the abandoned countryside of Fontanelle, then come the first houses of the Biatonéa district where you find the small road followed on the way up.

Castillon-Sainte Agnès by the forest trail (2h one way): It starts at the Col de Castillon, on the site of the ruins of two old villages. Walking is easy on this old mule track.

Itinerary of walk around the village of Castillon Start: Castillon Village Arrival: Castillon via Saint Antonin. Take the staircase to the left, arriving at the parking lot of the Arcades du Serre, a path starts on the left in an undergrowth, crosses a valley, then goes up under the chestnut trees. Arriving on the little road of the place called «Le Remegon», follow it on the right, at the end of the track take a path passing between two properties. It descends to the ruins of the chapel of Saint Antonin, the return is made on a small paved road passing in front of the hotel restaurant «La Bergerie», at the bottom of the village.

A nice walk round-trip in the paths, in the middle of nature. Departure: Castillon Village Arrival: The old village at the Col de Castillon, and back. Take the staircase which is to the left when arriving at the parking lot of Arcades du Serre, a path starts on the left in an undergrowth, crosses a valley, then climbs under the chestnut trees. Arriving on the small road of the place called «Les Remégons», turn left, follow this paved road up to a departmental that one crosses, opposite is a cement slope going down to a house, take it for a few meters and then go down on a path that is to the left of this track, cross a small stream and follow this path with a gentle uphill slope, following the natural curve of the valley. When you arrive on a paved road, continue to the left at no. 5824, climb the cement slope that leads to a property, just before the gate, climb a very high step to the left and take the path that leads to the old village.

This tour allows you to discover the rocky bastion called the Roc d'Orméa that dominates the French Riviera. This hike also offers a magnificent panorama from the summit over the coastal cities of Ventimiglia, Menton and Monaco.

This massive mountain plays the role of sentry of the high valleys and offers the visitor a look of exceptional magnitude. The trail starts shortly after the center of the village from Nice. 1- 1- Take a right turn on an asphalt track. Continue on a path passing behind some houses via the beacon 32. The trail rises quietly before winding up a bit. Continue climbing to an intersection 4 km from this point. 2- Turn off to the left as indicated at the beacon 8, then climb to the summit crest of Mont-Vial, which is easily reached via the beacon 285. 3- The return is made by the same itinerary.

An easy hike, almost entirely downhill. After some beautiful passages in the forest, the itinerary leads to Super-Garavan and continues in the direction of the old town of Menton, with magnificent views over the bay of Garavan and the Gulf of Peace. From the car park at the entrance to the village, head towards the Saint-Sébastien chapel (marker 416) and, at the first intersection, turn right downhill in front of the school (marker 145). The road then climbs slightly before reaching a new intersection shortly after the Saint-Roch chapel. Turn right onto the road leading downhill towards Menton (marker 414 Menton by Balmetta and Baousset). After a few metres, the route, signposted and marked by a yellow rectangle, goes off to the left and flat. You then lose altitude along a small path with superb views, skirting some beautiful properties. Once past the Maglioc ravine, the route runs alongside an imposing wall that obscures the view of a magnificent property. Shortly afterwards, this path joins a concrete track near the motorway and passes through a completely painted tunnel at the end of which you come out onto the road. Go up to the right and turn left at the first intersection onto the road to Colle Supérieure (sign), in the direction of the old town. The road climbs steeply at first and then descends through the houses, passing the Trabuquet cemetery. After a few steps downhill, you reach a crossroads with the old Menton cemetery opposite, at the top of the old town. There, on this small square, turn left into the small alley that runs alongside the cemetery. Then, by a succession of stairs, reach the Saint-Michel basilica in Menton.

Col de Castillon. Site of two ancient villages of Castillon, with the remains of the old church. A loop allows to make the tour of the old village. Magnificent panoramic view. Starting point of hikes and pass appreciated by cyclists. "Castillionum" was created in 1157 by the Consuls of Sospel to protect the Sospel people from Lombard and Saracen invasions. the Sospel people from Lombard and Saracen invasions. Castillon then became the property of the Counts of Ventimiglia, the Consul Vento de Menton before being attached to the Lord of the Consul Vento of Menton before being attached again to the Lord of Sospel. In 1348, the village became part of the Principality of Monaco then, in 1376, it was once again the property of the Lord of Sospel, then under the domination of the House of Savoy. In 1793, Castillon became French. An earthquake destroyed the village on 23 February 1887. In the 1930s, a Maginot Line fort was built under the ruins of the village of a fort of the Maginot line intended to stop the possible Italian attacks. This fort was only used for a few days in June 1940. It was nevertheless. Nevertheless, it was the target of Allied bombing raids in 1944 to repel German troops.It should be noted that the cross on the former Place Saint Joseph was stolen between the two world wars and was recently put back in place (May 2010). Rebuilt on almost the same site, below, in 1888, the village of Castillon was bombed in 1944 by the Allied fleet in order to liberate the area then occupied by German and Italian forces. As the Fort was a potential target in the years following the end of the war, the years after the end of the war, no one was allowed to resettle and the village was razed to the ground.

Walking in this charming Provencal village, you can meet, in their workshops and galleries of the Arcades du Serre, many artists and artisans who came to be inspired by the calm of the Menton hinterland, with the sea in the background. Built in 1157 on the Col de Castillon, it has been destroyed and rebuilt several times: In 1887, it was destroyed by the terrible earthquake that shook the whole region. A new village was rebuilt a little further down. During the Second World War, the site was destroyed by bombing. It has occupied its present location since 1951.  Between the sea and the mountains, it enjoys an atypical atmosphere...  The Provençal architecture of the stone houses with green shutters is in keeping with the more recent buildings: "Les Arcades du Serre". The whole forms a charming village which was awarded the title of most beautiful village in France in 1952. Artists and craftsmen settled here in the 1990s.  In terms of sport, this village will enchant more than one visitor. In addition to its climbing wall, there are paths through the mountain which are perfect for discovering numerous beautiful viewpoints. The bridge over the Bévéra river has been attested on the road between Nice and the Piemont as early as the 13th century. Temporary exhibitions take place inside the Pont-Vieux. For any information, contact the tourist information office of Sospel Partly rebuilt in the 16th and 17th centuries, only the lower part of the pile remains from medieval age. The watchtower was inhabited and housed a shop until 1960. The two arches were destroyed by the Germans in october 1944 and then rebuilt faithfully to the original in 1951.

Castellar, a stopover on the GR 51 and 52, is a relaxing village with picturesque streets.
