Discover Noaillan with the Municipal Youth Council! On the initiative of the Municipal Youth Council, the heritage trail was inaugurated on 17 November 2018. You leave from the site of Antonion on the edge of Ciron, you go up the Ciron river to discover the castle of Noaillan, the church, the children's forest, the Dubernet estate, the wash-house. This 2 hour walk along the water will make you discover the heritage of Noaillan. On the route, you will discover QR-Codes that you can flash with your smartphone to access additional information. This route is accessible to everyone, even children.

For children aged 6 to 12, accompanied by their parents. "Sur les Pistes de Robin" (On Robin's Tracks) allows children to discover the historical heritage of the village of Uzeste with the help of a document containing amusing questions, riddles and charades. This walk takes you in the footsteps of the Gascon Pope Clement V. You will then walk through pine and fern forests until you discover beautiful lagoons and the inevitable Ciron. If you are lucky, wild animals, roe deer or hares may surprise you during your walk!

The golden wine flows in the Sauternes region, known worldwide for its famous sweet white wines. The Sauternes region is crossed by the Ciron. This modest tributary from the Landes region is essential to the development of botrytis cinerea, which, in autumn, creates the great sweet wines, described by Mauriac as "an exaggeration of the exquisite". The Sauternes region is a gentle place to discover, rich in a thousand details, with its omnipresent stone walls revealing the abundance of limestone on the ground. From the church of Sauternes, go to meet the Grands Crus Classés 1855 of the Sauternes-Barsac appellation. Recommended itinerary on the communes of Sauternes, Bommes, Preignac and Fargues de Langon. For the most voluntary, itinerary can be modified to discover Barsac and its castles.

In the footsteps of François Mauriac, discover the Paroupian country and the great diversity of its rural heritage (monumental adornment of its town), witness of its industrial past You will be seduced by these moorland landscapes, dotted with pine and heather. The path follows a section of the Bazas-Mios cycle track, located on the former line of the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer Economiques. Château Guiraud takes its name from a Bordeaux negociant, Pierre Guiraud, who purchased the estate in 1766. Included among the first growths in the 1855 classification, Château Guiraud has more than a hundred hectares of vines. This magnificent property is well-known for their natural approach to viticulture. This entailed building an insect hotel, planting five kilometers of hedges, developing genetic diversity, studying and propagating vines in a conservatory, etc. Château Guiraud is currently the only first growth in the 1855 classification to be officially certified for organic viticulture. Founded in the eighteenth century, Château La Tour Blanche is a 40 hectares estate located in the commune of Bommes. The last owner, Daniel "Osiris" Iffla, left the chateau to the French state, on the condition that a Wine School was set up offering free practical experience.

Château Sigalas Rabaud is the smallest estate of the 1855’s “1er Grands Crus”, with 14 hectares in one piece of homogeneous soil. At the heart of this land, you will find the Charterhouse (situated at less than 500 meters from the Château d'Yquem), surrounded by the storehouse and outbuildings. The vineyard is well exposed to the wind, which dry grapes affected by Botrytis cinerea (also known as noble rot). All the conditions are met to achieve excellence... About sixty kilometres south of Bordeaux, the native land of Bertrand de Got, the future Pope Clement V, Villandraut, houses a real palace-fortress. Just one year after his accession to Saint Peter’s throne, Clement V instructed the construction of Villandraut Château with an impressive defence system. When you arrive, you are struck by the overwhelming presence of the massive towers which stand over you at a height of 20 metres. Enter the internal U-shaped courtyard after crossing a massive bridge spanning wide paved moats. Inside, discover all the typical elements of architecture from the Middle Ages, some evidence of sophisticated comfort such as the period sinks or latrines. Like its neighbour, Budos Château, Villandraut invites you to take part in exhibitions, dramas, concerts and even a completely medieval “Jesters Festival”.

The Maison Labat, a reception centre in the south Gironde, offers comfortable accommodation in a 19th century mansion surrounded by a large park. Museum of folk arts and traditions in the heart of the village. Created in 1937 by Louis Cadis, the museum occupies the "Maison Braneyre", dating from 1753, close to the 19th-century church. The museum preserves local archaeological research, recounts regional history: paper archives (old books), paintings and engravings, photographs, and bears witness to old customs and trades in the Bazadais region through furniture, costumes, traditional objects and tools. Classified as a "Musée de France" for the richness of its collections, the Musée de Villandraut offers themed temporary exhibitions to complement the permanent exhibition of folk arts and traditions.

Located near Villandraut, in the middle of the forest of the Gironde moors, the lake of Castagnet, is a calm and peaceful natural space. It allows pleasant walks and especially to indulge in the pleasures of trout fishing. The lake is ideal to spend a day of idleness, cut off from the noise of the city. Trout fishing enthusiasts will find what they are looking for! Here, no permit is required to fish the trout offered by the crystal-clear lake. All the equipment, fishing rod, landing net, bait are at your disposal.

A gallery of deciduous trees seems to protect the Ciron, this river of sand and rust colours. The filtered light reveals the luxuriant vegetation of the banks. The impressive tranquillity of the site is sometimes broken by the singing of birds or by the flight of dragonflies hunting around the rushes. From Villandraut, there are many possibilities to discover the valley on foot, by bike or by canoe.

This rather complex edifice is composed of a primitive nucleus, chevet and central nave from the 11th century, enlarged in the 12th century by aisles and absidioles. In the 14th century the bell tower was built, then in the 16th century a new aisle was built on the north side. Thick pilasters support a gabled bell tower.

In Uzeste stands the ancient collegiate church of Notre-Dame, the great work of Pope Clement V. The building is composite: a primitive Romanesque envelope, a 13th century nave, a small Gothic portal dedicated to the Virgin Mary (second half of the 13th century). The chevet and the choir were built in the 14th century, the bell tower erected at the end of the 15th century. The magnificent marble tomb of the Gascon pope was installed in the middle of the choir in the 19th century. The stained glass windows in the three apses of the choir, the work of the glass painters Joseph Villiet and Henri Feur, show that the whole life of the pontiff Clement is linked to Uzeste from his baptism to his burial. Uzeste still preserves in its streets of old low houses with frontage on street equipped with bays with chamfered mullions of XVe and XVIe centuries. Near the old collegiate church, is the house
