Château d'Yquem

Fruit of a rare confluence of geology, geography, climate and the extraordinary fungus we call noble rot, Yquem is a miracle of nature, captured through prodigious human spirit and savoir-faire.

Across its 400-year history, the estate’s caretakers have refined a philosophy of winemaking at once meticulous and audacious, in a search for perfection so risky that ten entire vintages have been left unbottled since 1910. Even the most generous harvests yield but a solitary glass of Yquem per vine.

This elixir of exceptional opulence and complexity, whose brilliant golden hue evolves in the bottle across decades like the sun’s rays from dawn to dusk, was once described by the French novelist Frédéric Dard as “drinkable light”.
