Stop in the village of Bons to admire the Porte de Bons archway, the remains of a Roman road that linked Grenoble to Briançon (half an hour on foot). A rolling course for a gentle introduction to the difference in altitude. Dist. : 5,3km Déniv. + : 180m Alt. max : 1660m La Molière is the itinerary with the least difference in altitude per kilometre. But it is not flat! A good way to discover the trail, to get into shape or to pace yourself. Bonus: a good part of it is in the forest to keep cool in summer.

An easy family walk on the theme of mountain animals. Before leaving, stop by the Tourist Office to get your "travel diary". With the travel log, you will follow a marked route punctuated with panels on which you will find questions on the theme of mountain animals. The answers are to be noted in the travel diary. The departure is at the bottom of the slopes behind the nursery and the last sign brings you back to the center of the resort.

Pleasant and accessible, this route is good for those looking to try out some mountain biking in Oisans on a fun, downhill ride. Leaving from les 2 Alpes, the track descends into a wooded environment, right down to Le Freney-d'Oisans. Distance: 5 km Highest point: 1610 m Lowest point: 925 m Total ascent: 7 m Total descent: - 687 m Technique: 2/4 Endurance: 1/4 Map: Top 25 IGN 3336 ET Les Deux Alpes ROUTE DESCRIPTION > The start point is the Lac de la Buissonière in Les 2 Alpes. > Take the path that runs alongside the left of the lake and then ride down the narrow, winding path towards Mont-de-Lans. Turn right when you get to a wider track, leaving the mountain bike track (Tallias) on the left. 100 m further on, the path goes off down to the left. Take care as this section is very bumpy, along an old paved track. If you prefer to avoid this, you can carry on straight down on the wider track. > When in Mont de Lans at the bottom of the chair lift, cross over the footbridge. Once on the road, turn left and then cross over, down towards «Bons / Le Freney». > This takes you to «Près Forand», just below the village of Bons. Turn right to Freney. The path gradually becomes easier. > The bus stop is in front of the Auberge de Freney, where there just happens to be a terrace for enjoying a drink whilst waiting for the bus (3030) to take you back to Les 2 Alpes!

Get away from it all with this hike which will take you to the top of Les 2 Alpes. The walk starts with a lovely climb up the Myrtilles trail. Once at the top, follow the ridge to the Diable chairlift. The descent is via a vertiginous single track on the Perrons side. Beautiful views of the resort and the Vénéon Valley can be enjoyed along the way.

This is a challenging hike, with some very vertiginous sections. You will finish in the village of Venosc and return by gondola (check opening hours). An amazing view awaits you at the top, with a breathtaking panorama of the surrounding mountains. The descent to Venosc will take you through forests of hundred-year-old fir trees, mountain hamlets in remote Alpine meadows, but also some scree slopes where it is best not to linger.

Course of medium difficulty. This moderately difficult path allows you to stretch your legs with its 300 metres of difference in altitude. It will allow you to discover the hike through a path going up to the Perrons. This first route in terms of difficulty offers you a beautiful view of the 2 Alpes and the Veneon valley. The only difficulty of this route lies in a steep passage.

Take some height with this magnificent hike near the resort of Les 2 Alpes. This challenging route, with its 345 metres of ascent, is a great way to stretch your legs. It's a great way to discover hiking, with a path leading up to Les Perrons. This is the first route in terms of difficulty, offering a beautiful view of Les 2 Alpes and the Véneon valley. The only difficulty on this route is a steep section.

This loop on the Deux Alpes plateau will allow you to climb crescendo in the practice of positive and negative altitude difference. Discovering the resort and its mountain pastures, you will have a great view of the Vénéon valley! This itinerary crosses two mountain pastures and allows you to discover the extent of the resort and the many activities it offers. Most of the race takes place on paths or easy balcony tracks. Be careful however on the 3 rd km, a dry ascent awaits you and it will be difficult to run to reach the summit of Les Perrons. From this point of view, you can admire the superb view of the Vénéon valley. The itinerary continues downhill through the larch trees to find the old chalets of Alpe de Venosc. Finally, the return is by an ascent to the sheepfold of Kanata before returning to the Place des Deux Alpes.

The Jandri takes you up to 3,200 meters in just 17 minutes from the center of the resort. Made up of two sections, the Jandri takes you first to 2,600 m and then to 3,200 m. At 3,200 m, a panoramic restaurant awaits you for a delicious break with stunning views. You can then continue up to 3,400 m via the funicular and discover the “Destination 3400” experience.

The Diable télémix lift allows skiers and pedestrians to reach an altitude of 2,400 m. At the top of the télémix lift, treat yourself to a gourmet break at the high-altitude restaurant Le Diable au Cœur.

Both a museum and a café, the Chasal Lento is a real place to live, share, meet and discover the local heritage located in the heart of the village of Mont de Lans. In the heart of Mont de Lans, the house of arts and traditions "Chasal Lento" takes you to meet the life of the locals, through their history over time ... the Romans ... the peddlers ... the construction of the Chambon dam but also the pioneering years that made the resort of Les Deux Alpes. The Roman Gate of Bons is one of the most important remains of the Roman road that ran through the Oisans. To discover it just follow the path from the hamlet of Bons, the remains are clearly visible!

The church of Venosc is a mixture of several styles. Built in the 9th century, it has undergone numerous modifications over the years. Romanesque church dating from the 9th century, but which has been modified and enlarged over the years. The modern nave was built in 1910 thanks to the Carthusian fathers. The altarpiece dates from the 17th century and is in the baroque style. The two saints are St Paul and St Peter. St. Peter and St. Paul are inseparable. They are the two pillars of the Church and tradition has never celebrated one without the other. St. Peter is the titular of the church and St. Paul the patron of the parish. The church is one of the best endowed in the Oisans, partly thanks to the donations of rich donors such as Jacques Rochette and peddlers who made their fortune. The bell tower houses the oldest bell found in the Oisans, dating from 1622.

One of the oldest painted sundials in the "Dauphinoises" Alps. Dating from 1669, it bares an inscription stating "sun that doesn't know end" . Its needle disappeared and was replaced in 1998. The Roman numerals mark the hours with dots. The number 666 is supposed to represent the flames of hell. This must be seen in the context of the counter-reformation which saw the friars of the Bourg d'Oisans convent attempt to evangelise the Protestants in the Oisans.

The Chambon dam was built between 1929 and 1935. In 1918, the industrialist Henri Frédet discovered the potential of this narrow, 75m long section of the Romanche river. It proved to be the ideal location for regulating the flow of the river. In 1921, studies showed that the presence of hard, cristallin schist in the soil provided a perfect seal for the water. The potential of hydroelectricity drew the attention of speculators during the 1920s stock exchange boom. Despite having to flood the villages of Le Chambon,Le Dauphine and Pariset, work began on the dam. During the construction period, a temporary cable car was set up over a 10.5 km stretch from Bourg d'Oisans to Le Chambon to supply the site with cement and other materials more rapidly. This cable car had 193 huge buckets that could each carry 250 km of cement. 62 metal pylons were built 900 m apart, some up to 40 m high, to bear the weight of the 22.5 km steel cable. The reservoir filled with water between 24 April and 9 October 1935. As early as May 1935, the turbines of the Sainte-Guilherme power plant were being driven by water and intake from the neighbouring Ferrand Valley was later added to boost the supply of water.

Saint Arey was the Bishop of Gap between 579 and 614. Born into a noble Gallo-Roman family, he was ordained priest, and then Bishop of Grenoble, before continuing his vocation in the Triève and in Gap. Documents proving existence of the church date back to at least 1096. A number of legends are associated with the life of Bishop Saint Arey, but the most famous is the legend of the bear: On his way back from Rome in 605, Arey travelled over the Col du Montgenèvre on his way to Gap via Briançon. In the woods, his carriage came across a bear, which scared away one of the harnessed oxen. Arey then ordered the bear (or made a pact depending on the version,) to take the place of the ox under the yoke. The submissive animal allowed itself to be harnessed and the Bishop arrived in Gap pulled by one of the most original teams ever seen. The bear was freed and took refuge in nearby woods. According to the legend, the bear only emerged on the day of the Bishop's burial in 614. The church that we see today was built in 1840. with the first stone, blessed by the Bishop, laid on 11 May. Once the church was consecrated, a lead box sealed with the arms of the Bishop and containing the relics of several saints was placed in the tomb of the high altar, which was not consecrated itself. The former church had been dedicated to Saint-Arey and he remained patron saint of the new church. Shortly after it was built in 1878, the church received a visit, as recounted in a document of unknown origin: " The church, isolated on a rock overlooking the Romanche river, stands several stories high at an altitude of 982 m. It was rebuilt in 1841 and is shaped like an ogival-style Latin cross. The solid, old bell tower has been kept, although it is in the 11th century Roman style. The chimes are very pretty, even though the bells are not heavy. The church portal is truly remarkable, built with a type of large grain porphyry - a rare stone that is found locally. The interior of the church is very simple, without any decoration or stained-glass windows. The altar is made of white marble and is rather elegant. Some pictures of certain merit decorate the Sanctuary, representing Saint-Arey, the patron of the Parish, talking with Pope Gregory VII." A lovely mountain hut near Mizoën at an altitude of 1515 m. A stopover on the GR50 54C tour of the Ecrins and the start of numerous hikes on the Emparis plateau. Close to the petrifying Cascade de la Pisse waterfall, the via ferrata and a climbing route. Superb views of the Meije. From the car park at Les Aymes, follow the path marked in red and white (variant of the GR 54 path): the balcony trail makes its way above the Lac du Chambon before climbing up across the meadows. From there, hikers can either follow the discovery trail to the right that joins the refuge (adding ½ hour) or carry straight on to Les Clots. The walk and hut have been awarded the "Espit Parc" label and are perfect for families and people looking for peace and quiet and to reconnect with their inner selves! Along the way, and near the refuge, depending on the time of your visit, you may see marmots, chamois and butterflies, and depending on the season, feast your eyes and nose with lavender and orange lilies. You’ll also have a chance to admire the waterfalls above the hut, gushing out of a petrified fountain, forming lumps of tuf. The site is under a biotope protection order, so please stay on the path to avoid damaging this geological wonder.

Located at 2,268 m, this small unguarded refuge with no water, electricity or toilet is a call to adventure! Facing due south, it is located in the Écrins National Park, on the path leading to the Rochail summit. PRESENTATION Perched at an altitude of 2,268 meters, the Refuge des Sources is a small, unguarded 20 m² hut nestled in the Ecrins National Park, in the commune of Villard-Notre-Dame. Approximately 3 hours' walk from the village, it overlooks the Vallon torrent and offers a breathtaking view of the Oisans. This communal refuge, with its rustic authenticity, is an ideal stopover for backpackers or mountain lovers in search of adventure. CAPACITY AND FACILITIES Rustic in character, this small communal hut offers the most rudimentary comforts. It comprises 6 mattresses, blankets, a table and benches. Capacity: 6 people Equipment available: 6 mattresses with blankets, a table, benches and stools, basic kitchen utensils. The refuge is set on a magnificent belvedere, so you'll enjoy a gentle hike through unspoilt countryside. Around the refuge you'll find many activities such as hiking (tour du grand Cond, lac de la Mariande, lac du Salude, col de la Mariande...), mountaineering (tête de Lauranoure, col de la haute pisse...) and climbing (2 big routes in the pierroux, 3 routes around the Froide Pisse waterfall). Built in 1947, the refuge has retained the modesty of its origins over the decades, while reasonably adapting its comfort to today's requirements. The Alpe du Pin Refuge is little known and discreet, and stands on the mountain pasture of the same name. It belongs to the Jarrets d'Acier association. It has everything needed to delight the heart, the soul and the calf muscles! Built in 1947, it has preserved its humble origins down the years by making reasonable adaptations to the needs of contemporary comfort. The Alpe du Pin Refuge is located at an altitude of 1,805 m, at the foot of the Tête de Lauranoure (3,325 m), the view of which from St-Christophe leaves no one indifferent. With a capacity of 20 places in a single dormitory, the visitor soon feels at home, and the layout of the refuge helps promote meetings and conversation. You can count on a simple, warm and friendly welcome from the refuge keepers.
