Located on an ancient Gallo-Roman site, this mill was built at the beginning of the 12th century in the commune of Beuxes. At 500 meters, the spring of Maumont feeds this mill initially equipped with 2 wheels of 2,40 meters of diameter. It ceased all milling activity in 1919. Its current owner, representing the 5th generation, thanks to his energy and his passion, restores to this architecture the character of its beginnings. The first trough wheel has just been installed and gives back to this mill its former soul.

Notre-Dame-Immaculée Church in Port-de-Piles

Installed in a Chateau of the Loire, a museum of contemporary art with an exceptional collection. The 30 meter high terraces of the castle offer exceptional views of the Loire, the confluence of the Vienne and the Loire and the village of Montsoreau. Since 2016, the Château de Montsoreau has been home to Philippe Méaille’s collection of contemporary art. Displayed over three floors (2500m2 of exhibition area), this collection is the world's largest art fund of works by the Art & Language movement, a collective of artists who created Conceptual Art. Throughout the year, concerts, conferences, performances and temporary exhibitions put the spotlight on important international artists.

The Château des Ormes, located on the banks of the Vienne, was built by the Pussort brothers, Colbert's uncles, from 1642 onwards. It was acquired in 1729 by Count Marc-Pierre Voyer d'Argenson, War Minister of Louis XV, friend of Diderot and D'Alembert who dedicated the Encyclopedia to him. It housed famous guests including Voltaire. The castle is open to the public who will discover its beautiful and vast main courtyard, bordered by the Pussort and D'Argenson wings, its large marble paved vestibule and its superb staircase, its old kitchens from the 18th and 19th centuries, an 18th century ice-house, a rare 1902 motorboat and a 1906 power station. In 1871, when the house was built, Louis Marnay laid out a one-and-a-half-hectare park and planted numerous varieties of trees. In 1995, it became the MAIRIE des ORMES. Some species are rare, such as the cork oak and two magnificent Atlas cedars (over 100 years old), Gingko Biloba, Araucaria (the despair of monkeys), Japanese sophora, medicinal lime, Kolkwitzia, Virginia tulip tree,? Varennes sur Loire is a small village built around a rectangular postcard square with tall trees, a church, a war memorial, a bakery, a butcher's shop and a grocer's... The square is also home to the "Jardin de Varennes", a restaurant with all the hallmarks of a working-class restaurant. Every day, there's a different, unique dish. Before it, pâtés, cold meats, raw vegetables, various salads, etc.... are the starters from which you can choose as much as you like. The wine on the table, the desserts and the cheeses are also as varied as you like. The cheeses are laid out on a platter and moved from one table to another as and when required, under the watchful eye of the hostess, who is quick to replenish the platter.
