The Palmer Park covers 25 hectares. It is a very nice place to walk and discover beautiful views of Bordeaux. It consists of vast rolling meadows, alleys lined with trees and flowers. Château Palmer belonged to Charles Palmer, Mayor of Bath and Major of the English armies who fought against Napoleon during the Spanish War. On the Bordeaux side, a vast stone terrace is supported by four pairs of Doric columns. It passes through Lormont?s Parc de l?Hermitage, a successful example of brownfield redevelopment, then through the center of Lormont, dominated by its imposing Saint Martin church. Passing under the Pont d?Aquitaine bridge, it reaches Bassens, crosses Parc Séguinaud, from where you can see the port facilities, then the town center with its curious Saint Barthélémy church, and finally Parc Beauval, renowned for its château and Bolée wind turbine. On leaving the park, the GR 655 takes you to La Gorp railway station. This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary, and take a stroll in ecomobility!

The Favols estate has had many functions over the centuries. It has existed as such since 1588, when it was bought by a certain Sauvat de Ferran. Château Mirefleurs is located in the commune of Yvrac, about fifteen kilometers from the city of Bordeaux. The 40 hectares of vineyards of the estate are planted with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, located in the communes of Yvrac and Saint-Loubès. We find very different soils, formed from the bed of the Dordogne. This diversity is made at the level of the river basins of this one and the sedimentary deposits which took place at various geological times. On the commune of Saint-Loubès, we find gravelly soils, with a strong presence of surface pebbles. The texture of these soils is quite clayey. On Mirefleurs, we find soils with clayey-sandy textures and silts. These differences in soil structure give the grapes their own typicity and therefore very different characters.
