Designed for young and old, this fun and educational route is offered to you to understand the characteristic environment of the territory. Step-by-step guide : From Rontalon to the top of Mont Orchez: 1h45 From the Rontalon car park, take the direction of Mont Orchez. The climb begins a bit on the road, then the path climbs to the left in the pastures. On leaving the park, turn right between the buildings. The path then passes through the undergrowth and cuts through the departmental road several times before arriving at a place called "Sur le Coux" (country atmosphere, inn, etc.). The climb continues through a beautiful forest by a sometimes very steep path. A handrail secures a technical passage that cannot be avoided: a handrail is installed to help you. At the top, a lovely view over the Arve valley, facing the Môle and the Bargy chain. From Mont Orchez to a place called Les Larroz: 50 min For the descent, follow the direction of Larroz via the Creux du Plane. You will meander through a pretty forest, on a fairly steep descent but without any difficulty. At Creux du Plane, take the direction of Larroz. You will arrive in the hamlet. From Larroz to Rontalon car park: 30 min Cross the hamlet of Larroz, and take the direction of the Rontalon car park. You will follow a balcony path, which will offer a beautiful view of the massifs. At the end of the forest, you will arrive in a meadow, go towards the chalet, and take the direction of the car park.

A route that crosses pastures and forests without great difficulty. A hike that will teach you about the steps of the theme trail of the "Vardafe" marnerote. You can discover views of the Cluses Valley. From Marnaz to the Biolle Oratory: 45 minutes Take the path in the forest, it climbs steadily up to the log chalet, renovated and furnished, to discover the history of Biolle. From the Oratory of Biolle to La Chardaz: 15 minutes At the Oratory (erected in 1887) continue straight towards Praz Bassoux. After 500 meters, take the footbridge. At the intersection, go down on the right, cross the river and go up 500 meters to the sign La Chardaz. From La Chardaz to Praz Bassoux: 25 minutes At La Chardaz, take the direction of Praz Bassoux on the right. Follow the flat path in the forest, then cross a field before arriving on the road. Go down the road for about 100 meters, then at the Chedde sign, take a path on your right. Go down across the field and continue in the forest. At the exit of the wood, you go straight down into the field to Praz Bassoux chalets. From Praz Bassoux to Ruisseau du Chêne: 15 minutes From the chalets, go down towards the isolated tree in the field on the right. From the Praz Bassoux sign, cross the field straight to the edge of the wood. Then, you pass the gate to leave the field and immerse yourself in the forest. Cross the stream thanks to the footbridge and continue your descent. From Ruisseau du Chêne to Marnaz-Center: 25 minutes At the Ruisseau du Chêne sign, take direction Marnaz. The path in the forest becomes flat and brings you back to the Chez Vavin car park, then follow the road to find the start. To do more from La Chardaz: Blessed Lake. Duration 2h45 (one way)

25 hectares of alluvial deposits along the banks of the Arve are protected: the natural site of Vougy. The islands of Vougy are made up of a group of five units: areas of running water stagnant water, softwood forests, hardwood forests and dry terraces. hardwood forests and dry terraces. Asters, with its long-standing commitment to the site, is the key player in its management. However, management is in line with the recommendations of the Natura 2000 site's Objective Document. Part of the department's Espaces Naturels Sensibles network, this alluvial zone has been managed since 1988 by Asters, Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels de Haute-Savoie. The aim is to preserve the local flora and fauna. These include goosander (a fish-eating duck), kingfisher, wagtail (a small wading bird), red warbler, great crested grebe and grey heron.Many waterfowl take refuge here in winter, including scaups and scaups (diving ducks). There are also 7 species of bat and 12 species of dragonfly. Last but not least, the beaver, a protected species in France, is an emblematic animal of the site, albeit a very discreet one. In terms of flora, the site preserves the alluvial white alder forest, the protected cattail and numerous orchids such as the bumblebee ophrys.
