This family outing offers you a beautiful series of panoramas on the left bank of the city (Palmer Park, Belvédère Bellevue, Parc de l'Ermitage Sainte-Catherine). With the exception of a necessary ascent to reach the top of the hill, the short and relatively flat walk is accessible to all.

During this family and bucolic walk, marked by the presence of numerous flagstones, astonishing landscapes coexist: natural and preserved landscapes with the marshes of Bruges; artificial landscapes with the lake of Bordeaux and the atypical development of the park of Majolan. Along the way, through the rolling paths of bastides and abbeys across the Bordeaux vineyard, cyclists can be seen on the Roger Lapébie trail. The journey arrives in Créon, one of the eight bastides of Gironde. The Port Cailhau, thirty-five metres tall, was integrated into the city walls. In 1864, it was rented by a public letter writer and a person whose job was to weigh salt. They were both evicted in order to renovate the monument. There is a magnificent view of the oldest bridge in Bordeaux, the Pont de Pierre, from here. An exhibition displays the tools and materials used for construction purposes at the time the Porte Cailhau was built and an audio-visual presentation pieced together from old films immerses us in the world of stone masonry.

The Pey-Berland tower, a flamboyant Gothic structure built between 1440 and 1466, is the bell tower of Saint-André cathedral in Bordeaux.
