The Voie Bleue cycle route leaves Nancy on a beautiful green corridor along the Meurthe and canal. You reach the Moselle via the junction canal, where you'll find the magnificent Montaigu park and château. Once back on the Moselle, the cycle route continues towards Charmes in a wild, bucolic setting. Freewheel along the towpath of the Canal des Vosges, crossing the canal bridge at Flavigny-sur-Moselle.

This tourist circuit showcases water through the ages on a tour of Haut-Lay and its history. Lay-Saint-Christophe is nicknamed the village of a thousand fountains. It is also the birthplace of Saint Arnou and his illustrious descendants. Explore the ancient narrow streets to discover a host of fountains and admire the Renaissance (the Samaritaine, the presbytery, the priory whose most famous monk was Dom Calmet, etc.) and Art Nouveau buildings (the house of Antonin Daum). This fortified mediaeval city overlooks one of the loops of the Moselle. It was once the summer residence of the Bishops of Toul. The high part of the town boasts a wealth of heritage that visitors can explore on a visual and interactive route. Follow the “madeleine route” (a local speciality) and discover seven iconic signposts, and scan 14 QR codes on the sides of houses to get architectural details.

Explore this walking and cycling path, a bucolic 19.5-km-long stabilised sand route created along a former railway. It begins in Custines at the end of the Rue Claude Le Lorrain cul-de-sac, which has around twenty parking spaces, and currently ends in Nomeny. It runs through the lovely Mauchère valley, which takes its name from the little 8-km-long stream that runs through Custines, Malleloy, Faulx and Montenoy. The rolling countryside offers viewpoints over the orchards, fields, villages and woods. This “Voie Verte” path takes you on a discovery tour of local rural animals, including sheep, cows and horses. In fact, there is a strong probability that you will come across riders on the section that is open to them, near to the Diapason and Paquis stables in Faux.

The Moselle rises in the Vosges mountains at the Col de Bussang, but is actually the result of the merger of several streams originating in the Vosges mountains. It flows into the Rhine at Koblenz in Germany. Its total length is 560 kilometers, of which 314 kilometers are in France. The Moselle has been used as a waterway since Gallo-Roman times, enabling Roman battles against the Celts and the transport of salt produced in the Seille region. Throughout the Middle Ages, navigation was in full swing. Then, in the 16th and 17th centuries, navigation on the Moselle disappeared. At most, it was used to float timber from the Vosges. Today, the Moselle is a busy commercial river, particularly between Frouard and Luxembourg. Yachting harbors and secondary branches, however, provide shelter from the traffic. On the outskirts of Nancy, the landscape of wooded hills is very pleasant.

Le Bois Saint-Ignon: A 6.8 km trail through woods and other areas for exploring, making for a varied itinerary. It is also a smooth and easy circuit for mountain bikes. Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

Rich in the Gallo-Roman past of Arlon, the museum houses an impressive collection that bears witness to the daily life of this period.One of the peculiarities of the museum is its imposing and rich lapidary collection, composed of several dozen fragments of ancient funerary monuments.These blocks and the objects from Roman craftsmanship will teach you more about daily life at that time.

Place André-Maginot is located in the heart of the Ville-neuve, between the railway station and Rue Saint-Jean, and belongs to the Charles III - Centre Ville district. It was named in honor of André Maginot (1877-1932), the French politician best known for the creation of the Maginot Line. Previously known as "Place Saint-Jean", the square featured a gateway, Porte Saint-Jean1, which was destroyed in 1874. New buildings were then erected, some of them fine examples of Art 1900 in Nancy. In 1940, the square was renamed.

The former headquarters of L'Est Républicain since 1913, it's an architectural marvel. The premises served as the head office and home to journalists from the local Nancy agency until 2012. Technical services and editorial staff moved to the current L'Est Républicain headquarters in Houdemont in August 1985.

Le Taureau, by Gé Pellini is a giant bull (3 meters long and 800 kg) with sleek lines that took its place in the heart of the city in spring 2018. Echoing the coat of arms of Stanislas, the buffalo being the symbol of the Leszczynski family, this horned animal proudly shines in the city with its red color. One of the largest bronze pieces ever created by Nancy-based Gé Pellini. Artistic commission by Ville de Nancy, with the support of Métropole du Grand Nancy.

Facing the station, this vast contemporary art and design gallery has taken over an emblematic Nancy building dating from the late 19th century. On the façade and forecourt, the permanent work Traits d'union, by designer Robert Stadler, brings together contemporary art, design and heritage. Galerie Poirel's programming is resolutely focused on contemporary art, with a strong emphasis on design. It is open only during exhibitions. France’s second oldest still-active synagogue. The building dates from 1788, but was extended in the 19th century. The façade, which dates from 1935, is the work of the architect Alfred Thomas.
