Duration: 3h30 - Start: Salle des fêtes at the football pitch - Signposts: blue circle This trail takes walkers through the forest to discover Hindisheim's natural heritage. The old wash-house is the starting point. After crossing the Andlau bridge, the path passes between fields, orchards and meadows, before leading into the forest. Here, you'll come across a Liberty Tree planted by schoolchildren, an arch made up of 8,000 little blue and yellow hexagons, and a little further on the old football pitch, the "Gansebrunne" or goose well, followed by the Borne forestière. Then the Leimeleschle (old clay quarries), and finally a mirror reflecting in the middle of the forest. In 2012, the Club Vosgien, under the aegis of the Communauté de Communes du Pays d'Erstein, added a signposted walking trail to this discovery trail. Here you can discover the Bruch and the Andlau.

The island of Gerstheim is a narrow strip of land created by work of the deviation of the Rhine for the navigation and the production of electricity. Through this path, it's possible to discover the diversified habitats of the island.

The former military forts surrounding the City of Strasbourg are a reminder of the region’s often troubled past. Some are open to visitors, like the fascinating Rapp Fort and Frère Fort. You'll reach France and the Nothern Vosges nature park on the Sauer Valley cycle route, passing by the famous Fleckenstein castle. From Lembach, you'll branch off towards Reichshoffen, then Ingwiller in the Pays de Hanau and La Petite Pierre in the heart of the Notherne Vosges. You'll continue on little-traveled country roads towards Alsace Bossue. At Wittring in Moselle, you join the EuroVelo5 - Via Romea and the quiet Sarre canal cycle route and the Marne-Rhine canal cycle route. You'll be able to enjoy a number of beautiful stages, including the Mittersheim and Stock ponds, the Arzviller inclined plane and the valley of the lock-keepers, before taking a well-deserved break in Saverne, home of the Rohan family. You'll then head south on the V52, dotted with tunnels and bridges for cyclists, to Romanswiller, then Wasselonne and Marlenheim, where you'll join the Alsace wine road cycle trail. At Soultz-les-Bains, take the Bruche Canal cycle route back to the starting point.

SEASONAL ACTIVITY SET OFF FROM FRANKFURT AND HEAD TO THE RHINE VALLEY TO SPEND HALF A DAY EXPLORING THE LANDSCAPES AND TRADITIONAL GERMAN VILLAGES. The excursion starts as you travel through this region, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, by bus. You’ll then board a boat to admire the Valley from the water during a cruise on the river. Thanks to its municipal utility company, Erstein directly manages the production and distribution of electrical energy within the town. Many local towns and villages have also assigned their facilities to the UME. These activities have now extended to the drinking water industry. Seasonal guided tours by reservation.

On our farm, we follow each season different activities. Ranging from the production of cereals and sugar beets, to the reception on the farm of families, schools and children. You can discover the farm through various activities and visits. For the summer period we propose the corn maze with its nocturnal evenings, the discovery of the animals and their feeding. In winter we offer basketry courses. All year round, children can also celebrate their birthday with us, or participate in themed days. All these activities are on registrations.

The first Jews settled in Erstein in 1850. The synagogue was built in 1882 and was demolished in 1941 during the German occupation. Learn all about Jewish traditions, and discover the history of the Erstein community, during a guided tour (seasonal).

The Saint-Denis de Gerstheim Catholic Church is a magnificent example of "resurrection" that has been able to draw on the roots of the past to rise from the ashes by anchoring itself in the present and turning to the future ... Indeed, one morning of November 26, 2011, following an electric short circuit, the church consumed by the flames during most of the night, is no more than a field of ruins that observes dismayed the inhabitants of the village; it remains the walls of the water, the bell tower and the facade licked by the flames! Quickly, thanks to the determination of the municipality and the factory council (and the budget allocated by the insurance), the construction site of the reconstruction was able to start; Renowned regional artists and artisans took turns reliving in 2 years a place of worship in which the tradition nowadays combines contemporary creation and modernity, while keeping the original church plan erected in 1869 on the same site of a 16th century church where the simultaneum was practiced ("mixed" church that welcomes both Catholics and Protestants after the attachment of Alsace to France by Louis XIV.) The population at this time is mostly Protestant because the lord of the village had opted for the Reformation around 1546 ... In order to fit into the continuity of the past, the angles of this church were symbolized by a pink marble layout in the current floor (Croatia stone). Inside, traditional art and contemporary art are perfectly adapted to each other, and are an invitation to meditation and contemplation. It will include stained glass windows by the artist Sylvie LANDER, inspired by Matthias Grünewald's famous Issenheim Altarpiece, or the spectacular mosaics by Gérard BRAND.

Memorial to Jean Bugatti. He was the son of automobile manufacturer Ettore Bugatti, who opened his factory in Molsheim-Dorlisheim in December 1909, the year of Jean's birth. Jean started working very early with his father, as he possessed the same artistic skills concerning designing elegant vehicles. On August 11, 1939, Jean Bugatti tragically died in a car crash while testing a 57 C. He was 30 years old. His father never recovered from the loss of his son.

On June 2, 1776, the foundation stone of a new church was laid on an artificial mound in the middle of the village (the singularity of this church!) and it was enlarged 85 years after its construction. The building escaped destruction during both world wars. As a sign of remembrance, a statue of St. Odile was erected next to the main portal. In the summer of 1958, a violent hailstorm shattered the stained glass windows and let in rainwater. In the 1960s, the interior of the church (choir, nave, altars, stained glass windows, ceiling and organ) was restored. In 1977 further renovation work uncovered the foundations of two previous buildings and the walls of the old cemetery once surrounding the place of worship.. Interior: The neo-classical church features a semi-recessed bell tower façade, a triangular pediment portal, a single nave with rectilinear side portals and a polygonal choir. The church features a tabernacle (18th century), altars and pulpit (19th century), high altar (20th century), a redesigned 25-register Stiehr organ (1817), a majestic painting of St. Louis by François Brendle (1807) at the back of the choir and two paintings on canvas over the side altars by painter Joseph-Louis Sorg, depicting two key scenes from the New Testament: the Crucifixion on the right and the Annunciation on the left (1840). In the church lie Klara Judith and her husband Hans Jacob von Landsberg, whose Rococo-style tombstone is still on the right wall of the nave. Outside: On one facade, a 1705 sundial is carved into a square slab. Originally placed against the "east" facade of the nave, the grotto of Lourdes found a worthy location behind the choir, attracting pilgrims for prayer and peaceful contemplation. On its side, the crucified Christ, with Mary and John at his feet, casts his gaze on the passer-by. The grotto is a place of prayer and peaceful contemplation. The church is not open to visitors, but is open throughout the year for religious celebrations.

Built in 1883, this chapel is situated in a natural, rural setting, near the springs of the same name where St. Materne baptised Alsace's first Christians.

This Romanesque chapel, also called St. Ulrich's Chapel, dates from the 12th century. Here you can see some splendid murals, and next door you can find the Bath House (Maison des Bains) built on the site where Roman baths could once be found.
