The Pic Saint-Michel at 1,966 metres is an emblematic Vercors summit, dominating the Grenoble valley, with an exceptional panorama over a large part of the Alps. Leaving from the lieu-dit Les Barnets (car park), go towards the Pic Saint-Michel by taking the Tour des Quatre-Montagnes itinerary (yellow and red marking). At the Collet du Furon, take the trail that climbs to the Combe Oursière now following the yellow-green markers. This trail meanders amongst the rocks to finally reach the Pic Saint-Michel with its magnificent panorama over the Grenoble valley and a large part of the Alps. After a good rest, even if only to appreciate the beauty of the location, the walk continues close to the ridge, regularly descending to reach the Col de l'Arc, the other highlight of the circuit. To return to the Barnets, follow the marked trail and descend to Font Froide where you meet the GR 91. From there, go to La Salière then the Collet du Furon, from which the Barnets is not far.

Join the deep gorges of Furon and the bubbling of its limpid waters. Fork right towards Tullins then left after the highway bridge, direction Poliénas by the small roads pass by les Massons, right Gabinot, Gaberne, left Parisette, right Burilloux, Guiers right Mill, le Guy, le Puits, join the D48a until Poliénas. Return after crossing the D48a, via the Château, les Pautres, Verdemont, les Moiles, le Manguely, les Massons to the Saint-Quentin Bridge. At the entrance of the bridge, find the cycle track on the bank on the left to return to the starting point in Grenoble.

This vast, flowery alpine pasture is occupied in summer by village cows, an ancient breed of the Vercors, very adapted to its environment and restored to the taste by some local breeders. The plateau of Ramées, through its alternating wooded areas and alpine pastures, is an environment conducive to the black grouse. You can enter them cooing, but do not try to see them and especially stay on the paths, because this remarkable species is very sensitive to disturbance.

Juste en contrebas du Pic Saint-Michel, l'érosion du calcaire a dessiné un grand arc de cercle aux formes harmonieuses : le Col de l'Arc. Ce col a représenté jadis un point de rencontre entre les habitants du Val de Lans et ceux du Trièves. Les agriculteurs des Quatre-Montagnes venaient y échanger leurs bêtes contre de l'huile et du vin.

Most of these objects were fashioned on flint found at the foot of the slopes of the Cornafion.It is the presence of water and flint, as well as the good exhibition of the site that attracted the hunters of Prehistory on this place, which presents a small flint-sized workshop.

Les Gorges du Furon, framed by steep limestone cliffs, have been shaped by the torrent which today flows at the bottom of the gorges.

The castle shelters the museum of the French Revolution since 1984. The collections gather pieces of art such as paintings, drawings, sculptures and engravings. On July 21st 1788, the castle of Vizille entered History. The Etats Généraux of the Dauphiné meeting which had been forbade by Grenoble authorities had been thus sheltered by Claude Perrier. Seduced by the liberal ideas, his castle sheltered this meeting. 187 members of the Tiers Etats, 49 clergymen and 159 noblemen deliberated during 16 hours. In demanding the meeting of the Etats généraux this event is considered to have triggered the Revolution. The Salle du jeu de paume which was the witness of this event have burnt during the fire of 1865. Its implantation is now symbolised by a terrace planted with trees at the entrance of the museum.
