Come and discover Saint-Michel de Frigolet Abbey , in the heart of the Montagnette massif! From the car park, head for the Saint-Michel de Frigolet Abbey. Take the path on the right that goes along the wall. Follow the rocky track towards "Boulbon 1h", then 100 m after the trail on the left. At the next intersection, continue in the middle of the kermes oaks to the track to cross twice. 1- At the next crossing, follow the indication "Boulbon 50mn". After the small collar, go straight down, then climb a second hill. Shortly after, cross the drivable track at the end of the valley to go up on the hill opposite. Cross successively two other valleys. Continue, leaving the basin on the left. 100 m after, cross a track, then take the path towards a factory chimney visible in the distance. 2- Then descend to Boulbon, through the valley of Saint-Michel. At the end of this gorge, turn right and follow the marking of red dots to access the Bonnet mill and its panorama (30 min return trip). Once back at the foot of the gorges, reach the village by the Gaston de Raousset street. 3- At the junction of the end of this street (fire hydrant), take the left for Barri street, then the second right on Météline street. Continue on the Breuil path, to the road. 250 m after the purification plant, turn on the road on the left marked PR (yellow), then find the road again on 100 m. 4- Take the intersection and follow “Pas de Bouquet” path. After 2 km, turn left towards "Saint-Michel de Frigolet abbey 1h40" by the San Salvador path. Continue for about 3 km. 5- At the highest point of the Montagnette (San Salvador, 161 m), dive by a small path on the right. At the crossing in "T” form then take a left. At the next two crossroads, always take the left. 6- Turn right on the track, then at the junction forming a triangle continue to the right. Find shortly after the departure path, "abbey of Saint-Michel of Frigolet 10mn".

Located on the banks of the Rhône, Islon St Luc is part of a Natura 2000 protected area. The area is of particular interest for its flora and fauna, and boasts a beautiful natural ensemble with a wide variety of species and natural habitats.Trees are dotted all over the area making it a nice place where families and older generations will enjoy going for a walk. Joggers and ramblers can make use of the health circuit set up there. Picnics can be enjoyed on the stone benches and tables in the shade of tall trees. Make sure you visit the Arboretum set up by the town of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and the National Forestry Office. It gives you the opportunity to find out about some surprising varieties of trees. L’Islon is the starting point for discovery trails such as the ecological trail, which invites visitors to (re)discover the natural heritage of Bras des Arméniers (distance: 2 km). Information panels along the way explain how the natural environment of Islon Saint Luc works. This is also the starting point for the Châteauneuf-du-Pape natural heritage trail. It goes along the banks of the Rhone and the converted towpath. It features a series of historic and environmental information panels. 10 km circuit. Les Castillones" is the name of the ridge that proudly dominates the village from the west. Discover an exceptional panorama going from the Dentelles de Montmirail to the Mont Lozère passing by the Mont Ventoux, all in the heady scents of the garrigue. From the parking lot on avenue de la République, go to the place des Halles. Turn right on rue Henri Pitot then turn right to reach avenue Jean Moulin (sign "Aramon-Le Choisity") Turn left to take "l'avenue de la Gare" then left "le chemin des amandiers". Follow the red and white markings of the GR42. Turn right on "le chemin des oliviers". Pass over the railroad tracks and continue straight ahead. At the intersection turn right "chemin de plane d'houmé" and continue straight on for 2.6km (sportive climb). You will pass near the signs "Croix de Garbure", "Les Rompudes", "Combes de Gibarau" and "Taoule Messe". At the "Portail de la Planet d'Oume" turn left and follow the path (yellow markings) for 2km. At the sign "Les Castillones" turn left and continue the path for 1.4km. At the signpost "Quartier du Fangas" go straight on for 300m then turn left at the signpost "Valorière" to return to the village of Aramon by the "Croix de Garbure". Then take the path of the departure (red and white markings).

This hill, reaching 134 m in altitude, offers a 360° view of the Durance valley, the Alpilles Alpilles, Mont Ventoux and Caumont.This "sensitive natural area" is also renowned for its renowned for its high biodiversity of birds and and vegetation. A looping tour of the historic site of the Popes' summer residence and a gastronomic mecca. After passing through the village, the tour takes you to the famous vineyards, where you'll discover a landscape of pebbles and vines.

Surprising walk where you will discover clay pitons shaped by erosion offering a show of forms and colors where a particular fauna and a flora settled. Not recommended the day after the rain because the ground is slippery. The Fosses de Fournès form a lunar landscape with very strong geological features. It's a special place for the flora and fauna that live there. Kermes oaks, wild lavender and rosemary blend into the clay landscape. The former clay quarry stretches along a gentle gradient that keeps you going up and down. The slopes are designed to make your walk easier. There's something fascinating about the landscape, which will take you on a journey from the Moon to the Gardon, via the vineyards. Not recommended after rain, as the terrain is very slippery. From the Grand Rue parking lot in Fournès village, turn left towards the Mairie. Walk along the stadium, then past the cemetery. Follow the route de théziers, then turn left at the Parefeuille factory. Follow the road for 1km, then turn left towards Les Fosses de Fournès. Along the way, you'll come across pitons between ten and thirty meters high, the highest of which is called "La Mourre de Pitaraçon". Then continue towards Fournès via Les Escarpettes. Turn left towards Fontaine de Nocquet, then left again to reach the village. You will pass the Cave Coopérative to reach the Grand Rue parking lot.

By drailles and by paths, follow the tracks of the transhumance of the Alpilles shepherds and their flocks! Back to the car park, take the path on the left, follow it for 3.5 km and pass a panel of communal decree. At the next intersection, turn left. Go right on the white gravel path and follow it to the road. 1- Turn left, pass the water tower and in the bend turn on the 2nd street on the left. Go down to the roundabout. Take the 2nd exit and take the avenue on the left. Turn left and cross the Liberation and Saint-Paul squares to reach the Bergerie. 2- Retrace your steps and take a right on the street just before the pharmacy. At the intersection, stay left and continue to the canal. Follow it on the right. At the end of the road, turn right. Turn left and pass the Roumanille manade. 3- Climb the path to the right and pass the canal. Once the hill is completed, switch on the path to the right. Take the road on the right, then turn left on the path of Mas de Bedoc. At the intersection, turn left on the path. At the end, turn left on a road. Follow it until you reach the D30b. 4- Continue towards Noves. After 300 m follow the Abeies path on the left, then the Crêtes path. At the end, take on the left the D30b to join Noves and the D30. Turn to the left. Follow the direction Châteaurenard and pass three roundabouts. After the 3rd, go left the medieval gate. 5- Just after, turn right, join the Pagnel square and continue Paul Auran street. At the end, turn right, then direct left. Take the D30b on the right. 1 km further, take a path on the left (n°941). At the end, turn left, cross the river and turn right (Mas Vert). Follow this path for 2 km. 6- Follow the road to the right. Go The river and at the intersection, take to the right. After 700 m, fork left on the Chicard de Pouvarel draille. Borrow the 1st road on the right. Go up the road on the left and join point 4. Follow the path of Transhumance on the left. Continue straight for 7.5 km to return to the starting point.

The monumental residence of the pontiffs, a symbol of the Church's influence on the Christian West in the 14th century, is the largest Gothic palace in the world! THE PALACE GARDENS Recently restored, the gardens are a new attraction for visitors, providing a space for relaxation and a better understanding of the Palace of the Popes as a whole. The Jardin du Pape and the Jardin du Palais join the Verger Urbain V, inaugurated on September 14, 2018, and freely accessible to the public, to complete the triptych of the Jardins du Palais des Papes. This redevelopment is structured into two zones: the Jardin du Palais (or Jardin Benoît XII, 1250m2) and the Jardin du Pape (662m2). The 14th-century hydraulic network was chosen as the structuring element for the design of the Palace Garden, delimiting the large rectangles where Mediterranean plant species attested to in the 14th century in these pontifical gardens are planted. The Jardin du Pape is an intimate garden, with direct access from the papal apartments. The redevelopment of the garden has restored its precious character, with the re-creation of the griffin fountain and the surrounding flower meadow. The Saint Bénezet bridge, a major witness of the history of Avignon, is known throughout the world thanks to the famous song. Built from the 12th century, it was washed away several times by the floods of the Rhone, and finally abandoned in the seventeenth century. Classified World Heritage by UNESCO. DUE TO THE FIREWORKS DISPLAY, THE BRIDGE WILL EXCEPTIONALLY CLOSE AT 2PM ON DECEMBER 23. Legend has it that the bridge was built in the 12th century by a young shepherd from the Vivarais region, Bénézet, by heavenly command. In reality, however, the bridge's construction was an ongoing project spanning several centuries. Hydrological changes in the river, following climatic changes from the 15th century onwards, were responsible for its destruction. It was no longer used from the 17th century onwards. The bridge was 920 meters long, with 22 arches linking the two banks of the Rhône. A bearer of legends and an emblematic monument of the region, it was the subject of unprecedented interdisciplinary work from 2010 to 2016, mobilizing an entire community of researchers under the aegis of Greater Avignon and the CNRS. The results of this research can now be admired thanks to museographic and multimedia mediation devices that reconstitute the Bridge in 3D in its landscape at different times. The ramparts, ranked as UNESCO World Heritage, encircle the entire old city. They are 4.3 km long, and were started in 1355 during the Papacy of Pope Innocent VI, to protect the city from the assaults by the roving bands of mercenaries. They were finished in 1370 under Pope Urban V. The entrance of the Avignon Bridge provides access onto the ramparts, and to the Rocher des Doms Gardens. The views over the city and the Rhône River are breathtaking. There is no charge to go up on the ramparts.

Covering a hectare, this well-kept, country-style garden is marked by flowerbeds, walkways and Mediterranean plants. This garden was created in 1998 on the site of former quarries that had been used successively as a rubbish dump, ammunition depots during the war and a salt storage area.

The dungeon of a fortress built in the 13th century by the King of France at the mouth of the famous Avignon bridge, to which it controlled access, the Tour Philippe le Bel dominates the whole of Provence. These four major themes are translated into a bilingual French-English tour.

7-hectare park in the heart of the historical centre. A lovely place to walk and stroll, for all ages. The hill has many places to sit and rest, a playground, and an outdoor theatre. Gorgeous views over Villeneuve lez Avignon and Avignon. This park was once religious property and still has some vestiges of the Petite Chartreuse, a hermitage where Father Crouzet-Lacombe, the last Carthusian father in Villeneuve after the Reévolution, took refuge. You can see the tomb that he prepared in the rock. The chapel, Notre-Dame de Consolation, is at the very top of the park, and was painted with frescoes by Albert Martin, that illustrate the traditional Saint-Marc celebration, related to wine and vineyards. Enter by the street R Montée de la Tour (the Paul de La Boulaye gate) and the street Rue Montolivet (by the school).

Cardinal Arnaud de Via, nephew of Pope John XXII, founded a chapter of twelve canons in his livery, to which he bequeathed his property in 1336. He enlarged the chapel, which became the collegiate church of Notre-Dame. In 1350, the canons had the cloister and belfry built adjacent to the church. In 1792, the collegiate church became the parish church, replacing the Saint-Pons church. This "paradise" features a sculpted decoration of flowers and foliage that is one of the finest examples of Gothic naturalism. The collegiate church of Notre-Dame and its cloister are listed as a Monument Historique.

Housed in a handsome 17th-century mansion, it is the former former palace of Cardinal Ceccano. It houses Enguerrand Quarton's masterpiece Le Couronnement de la Vierge (The Coronation of the Virgin), dating from 1453-54, and the famous 14th-century Virgin in Ivory, and also presents a panorama of painting from the 16th to the 18th century, with works by Simon de Châlons, Nicolas Mignard, Philippe de Champaigne and Reynaud Levieux.

A national monument, Fort Saint-André was built to assert the power of the kingdom of France against the papacy in Avignon. It is a significant example of 14th-century French military architecture. Overlooking the whole town, with a unique panorama over the Rhône valley and Provence, it's an exceptional site. Fort Saint-André's strategic position allows you to enjoy a 360° panoramic view of Mont Ventoux, the Rhône valley, Avignon and the Alpilles from its covered walkway. The visit includes the Romanesque chapel of Notre-Dame de Belvezet, and the large defensive enclosure with the Tour des Masques and twin towers.

Saint-André Abbey was built by the Benedictines in the 10th century near the tomb of Sainte-Casarie (6th c.). Its influence was considerable in the region, where it owned over 200 priories from Uzès to Forcalquier. The buildings, rebuilt in the 17th and 18th centuries to designs by Pierre Mignard, were partly demolished after the French Revolution. Between terraces, ponds and the remains of Romanesque churches, you'll find Tuscan flowerbeds, century-old olive trees and other Mediterranean plants. Outside, there's a 30m² terrace and a 600m² garden with an 8x4m swimming pool and Jacuzzi. It's located in a quiet residential area in the village of Roquemaure, 16km from Avignon, ideally situated between the Vaucluse and Gard regions to discover the tourist highlights of the South of France. The village has a rich history, thanks in particular to its geographical location on the banks of the Rhône and its proximity to Avignon. As a hub for wine transportation, it was here that the Côtes du Rhône appellation was created. Today, the remains of the château and the collegiate church bear witness to this prestigious past. The latter is still important today, as it houses the relics of Saint Valentine, which are the subject of an annual votive celebration attracting large numbers of devotees.
