From Franche-Comté to Switzerland, EuroVelo 6 follows the Rhône-Rhine canal into Alsace, passing the impressive ladder of twelve locks of Valdieu-Lutran in its southern part. After arriving in Mulhouse, the route continues along the banks of the Rhône-Rhine Canal to Kembs. From there, via the towpath of the 403000002 into Germany and then into Switzerland to Basel.

Wend your way along the winding roads of Alsace interweaving through the network of villages that make up this trail along the watershed. At the heart of Sundgau, you will take the former towpaths of the Rhône-to-Rhine Canal with locks dotted along the way (away from the road and rail routes linking Bourgogne and Alsace).

From the farm inn Lochberg, two circuits are possible to walk between forests and pastures. Easy walk with family.

From the farmhouse inn Bruckenwald, a nice walk of about 2 hours is offered to you. Discover beautiful landscapes between forests and pastures at 800 m altitude and beautiful views.

Set off on a magnificent ridge hike between Baerenkopf and Sudel, offering superb panoramic views of the Vosges valleys and the landscapes of Alsace on this 6.25 km hike. Departure: From Masevaux, follow the signs for Ballon d'Alsace to the village of Kirchberg. In the village, head towards Kirchberg-centre, then follow the signs for Lachtelweiher. After leaving Kirchberg, continue along a mountain road for about 3.5 km until you reach Lake Lachtelweiher. Follow the road around the lake, then park in the car park on the right, below the road. This is where your route begins, surrounded by nature, between forest and open ridges. Sights and points of interest: Ferme Auberge du Lochberg: a gourmet stop in the heart of the pastures. Lachtelweiher Lake: a haven of tranquillity at the foot of the mountains. Oratory of the Virgin Mary: discreet and peaceful, it marks a spiritual pause along the way. Baerenkopf: the highest point of the hike, with a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys.

Then follow the road around the lake and park in the car park on the right, slightly below the road. This is where your hike begins, in the heart of a peaceful, unspoilt environment. Sights and points of interest along the route Lachtelweiher Lake: a charming lake nestled in lush greenery, ideal for a contemplative break or picnic. Oratory of the Virgin Mary: a small, discreet place of worship imbued with serenity. Ridge line: offers magnificent views of the surrounding valleys, particularly towards the Alsace Plain and the Vosges peaks. Neuberg shelter: perfect for a break sheltered from the wind. Baerenkopf: summit offering a remarkable panorama, the highlight of the route. DEPARTING FROM LAUSANNE, HEAD TO THE MEDIEVAL TOWN OF GRUYÈRES, HOME TO THE FAMOUS SWISS CHEESE! Departing from Lausanne, head to the medieval town of Gruyères, home to the famous Swiss cheese!  Leave Lausanne by bus and climb up into the alpine pastures to reach Gruyères.  After a tour around the town, your guide will take you to a Swiss chocolate factory to show you how famous Swiss chocolate is made.  Then head to an old alpine cheese factory. Enjoy a Swiss cheese tasting and learn more about the national dish: fondue.  Learn to make your own Swiss fondue and try the traditional dish.  After your meal, relax and climb on board the Golden Express, a panoramic train which crosses the alpine pastures and the heights of Lake Geneva. Enjoy incredible views of the lake and the Alps. When you get off the train, get back on your bus and head to Lavaux and its terraced vineyards. Located in the valley at 900m! Domain of 20 hectares with a green track and a red track appearing among the longest of the Vosges!

Built between 1868 and 1870 under the impetus of Father Adam, who was both architect and master builder, the church of Lauw stands out as an iconic landmark of the village. Its Franche-Comté-style roof, with its geometric patterns and bright colours, is a strong element of local identity, recognisable among all others in the valley. Transferred to the municipality in 1987 by the parish council, the church, along with all its parish property, became part of the municipal heritage. Over time, the building suffered damage during the two world wars. Carefully restored, it has been returned to its former glory thanks to the successive interventions of the painters Greth and then Talenti, who have brought it back to life while respecting its spiritual character. In 2002, a significant event further strengthened the link between the parish and the municipality: two new bells were jointly acquired. This was a first, as until then the bells had come from another parish, recovered after the initial construction of the building.

With its pedestrianized city center, Masevaux has become a very welcoming town. Known as a flower-filled town awarded 4 flowers, it won the national grand prize in 2000 and the Golden Flower (Fleur d’Or) in 2015. It can be discovered in all seasons, especially through its historical and tourist circuit during the summer. Numerous events take place throughout the year, including the Pumpkin Festival, the Magical Christmas Walk, flea markets, and street fairs.

The aim of the game: to hurtle down a grassy or snowy slope, alone or in pairs, while strapping yourself inside the Acro-Bulle. For those who love strong feelings and beautiful panoramas, there is the giant motorized zip line!

[Currently undergoing restoration work until October 2025] From the top of the rocky promontory of Eichstein, the Virgin of Alsace watches over Niederbruck and the Doller Valley. Sculpted by Antoine Bourdelle in 1923, she is made of grey Chauvigny limestone. Before her inauguration on October 7, 1923, the sculpture was exhibited at the Autumn Salon in Paris. Her story: At the beginning of World War I, the village mayor and owner of the copperworks, Joseph Vogt (mayor of Niederbruck from 1891 to 1919), and his wife promised to erect a statue on the Eichstein rock if the factory and the valley were spared. Their wish was granted. After Joseph Vogt's death, his son Léon fulfilled the promise. The plaque on the statue’s pedestal bears the inscription: "In gratitude for the divine protection over the Masevaux valley and the return of Alsace-Lorraine to France — the spouses Joseph Vogt 1914–1918." Access to the Virgin is only on foot via a moderate hiking trail. The path begins at the edge of the bike trail, where it enters the forest. Follow the blue circle markers. Upon arrival at the Virgin, you will enjoy a view of the village and the Triebelskopf and Heindenkopf mountains.

Nestled on the northeastern flank of Baerenkopf the Kippelen family welcomes you and offers delicious dishes of farm products: bacon, cheese farmer. This farm is located above the Lachtelweiher lake and allows hikers to take a lunch break on site and enjoy the view of the Doller valley and the Alsace plain.

Edge of the forest on a secluded site surrounded by pastures, you can enjoy the hospitality of the Iltis family, enjoy succulent pies, omelettes kind or bacon, delicious pies and Siaskass this fresh cheese sprinkled Kirch and sugar. This farm is accessible on foot from the village, via Masevaux on a path that starts in Stoecken or from the Lachtelweiher lake in Kirchberg and from Niederbruck on a path or path.

Easily accessible by car via the road leading to the Ballon d'Alsace, the farm is also a stopping point for several hiking trails. The inn can accommodate up to 25 guests, by reservation only.
