This 14 km trail offers numerous views of the Limousin countryside. Along the way, traditional villages and hamlets offer hikers a rich architectural heritage...another trail in the commune, "Le sentier de la Serpentine", takes you to the Saint-Laurent moor. An interpretation trail explains the wealth of local flora and fauna. You'll learn about the famous serpentine, a very special rock...

The trail is named after the serpentine because the subsoil of the moor, through which the trail passes, is made up of serpentine, a low-acid rock unlike the granite of the region. It is a zebra-shaped rock that looks like reptile skin. The trail will take you to the serpentine barrens of Saint-Laurent, which represent very original ecosystems and contain a biological heritage of great rarity. You can discover it, thanks to an interpretation trail whose main theme is pastoralism. Interactive supports allow visitors to discover the natural and historical wealth of the moor. The site is classified Natura 2000.

Meuzac welcomes you for a walk rich in natural heritage (Limousin bocage and forest) and architecture (fortified Romanesque church). You will come across many ponds, including the La Roche pond (swimming) and the Forgeneuve pond (water-skiing). At the end of a small country road and then a track through the Fayat forest, you'll reach the entrance to the Montintin estate. Three gîtes have been built around a 19th-century château. The "La Pommeraie" gîte is set in a longère that opens onto a completely independent, walled lawn. At the bottom of the garden, a small house has also been converted. Paths lead around the estate or around the large pond below the château, and access to the park is possible from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm. All of the Domaine's gîtes can accommodate up to 29 people.

The small country road, then the track, crosses the Montintin forest before reaching the entrance to the estate. The gîte, a former farmhouse that is totally independent and not overlooked, opens onto a grassy courtyard on the south side, and onto a large meadow with a private pond on the north side. Here, the birds and animals of the forest are king. The swimming pool, located close to the château, is shared by the estate's two gîtes, and is open from May to the end of September from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., weather permitting. There are paths around the estate and around the large pond below the château. Access to the park is possible from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm. Built in 1897, it stands in the center of the Place Haute, near the church. It was built thanks to the generosity of Pierre Louis Bonafy. This wealthy merchant, distressed to see the inhabitants suffering along a rocky and difficult path to get water, bequeathed the necessary funds so that the village, perched on a hillock, could have access to pure and abundant water at all times. This fountain, known to the Chatelauds as "La Margelle", consists of a large circular basin where water is continuously poured.

Attached to the church, the Cross of the Dead rests on a serpentine base where coffins were placed before entering the church.

Former keep of the motte castle built in the 12th century and deliberately set on fire by its owner in 1553. Solid and remarkably well-built, it testifies to the wealth of its builder: the Viscount of Limoges. As the ground floor has no door to better defend itself against attackers, the entrance is 6 m above ground level. The 2nd and 3rd floors were probably separated by a floor. Château de Bonneval overlooks the village of Coussac. It occupied an important strategic position. A first building already existed in 930. It was rebuilt in the 14th century, then altered in the 18th century. It is a quadrilateral structure flanked by four large round towers, surrounded by a moat. It has belonged to the Bonneval family for over ten centuries. Highlights include the eastern facade, with its central square tower and double drawbridge; the inner courtyard, decorated with a Renaissance colonnaded gallery; and the elegant western facade and terrace. The château is home to a wealth of furniture and tapestries from Aubusson and Fontainebleau. Throughout the year, you'll find a full program of events (conferences, concerts, theater shows, children's workshops...). Rental available for weddings, receptions, seminars...)
