Boucle du kaolin

Admirez le panorama sur le château de Bonneval. C'est ici, dans le village Frougeix, en 1784, que furent découvertes les premières carrières de kaolin par André de Bonneval.

En revenant vers le bourg, vous apercevrez l'ancien lavoir couvert où les femmes se retrouvaient pour laver le linge ainsi que la fontaine du Cellier pourvue de vertus miraculeuses portant le nom de Saint Saturnin, patron de la paroisse.

Château de Bonneval overlooks the village of Coussac. It occupied an important strategic position. A first building already existed in 930. It was rebuilt in the 14th century, then altered in the 18th century. It is a quadrilateral structure flanked by four large round towers, surrounded by a moat. It has belonged to the Bonneval family for over ten centuries. Highlights include the eastern facade, with its central square tower and double drawbridge; the inner courtyard, decorated with a Renaissance colonnaded gallery; and the elegant western facade and terrace. The château is home to a wealth of furniture and tapestries from Aubusson and Fontainebleau. Throughout the year, you'll find a full program of events (conferences, concerts, theater shows, children's workshops...). Rental available for weddings, receptions, seminars...)

At the foot of the Château de Coussac Bonneval, the "Le Kaolin" restaurant offers classic cuisine featuring seasonal regional produce.

The Etang de la Marche is located near the village of Coussac Bonneval and covers more than 1ha. (route de Château-Chervix). Picnic facilities and walks along the pond. Fishing permitted without a federal permit.
