The Demoiselles trail invites you to discover a beautiful forest with many viewpoints. The quality of the paths is appreciated (beautiful sunken paths winding through chestnut coppice). More than half the route is shaded. The village of Saint-Nicolas-Courbefy opens its doors to you with its unexpected architectural heritage, well worth a visit (beautiful little chapel and a house dating from 1832). The ancient village of Courbefy will whet the curiosity of some. Don't miss the good fountains just before you reach Courbefy. A sporty route for some, as the paths are hilly. You're in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional Périgord-Limousin on the edge of the Dordogne.

From point 5 of the Demoiselles trail. At the road, turn right and walk along the cemetery. Pass in front of the church. At the crossroads with the RD64, turn right, then 20 m later, take the lane on the left. 150 m further on, at the crossroads, notice the house dating from 1832. Turn left on the road, then 20 m after, take the dirt track which climbs to the right. At Courbefy, turn left onto the wide stone path to reach the car park.

Hardened runners will be delighted to walk through the forests of Les Cars and Lastours in the footsteps of Richard the Lionheart. Through these two forests, between fir trees and chestnut trees, you will wind your way along this almost half-marathon circuit with some technical passages and steep climbs up to the château des Cars.

For experienced runners, this long course alternates between technical passages, good climbs and Limousin landscapes to allow you to push your limits. Criss-crossing between the forests of Les Cars and Lastours to the sources of the Dronne and crossing the Landes, your journey will take you to the château des Cars.

The village of Montcigoux, on the border between the Dordogne, home to the ancient Pétrocores tribe, and the Haute Vienne, home to the Lémovices tribe, is a fine example of vernacular architecture, dominated by a castle with a strange history. PDIPR hiking trails
