Tanneron, Land of Mimosa! A pleasant one-and-a-half-hour walk around the village to discover the village and its panoramic views, surrounded by mimosa trees from January to March. This is the easternmost commune of the Pays de Fayence in the Var department and the one featuring the most mimosa flowers, with its abundant "yellow forests". This is the largest area in France planted with both cultivated and wild mimosa. Around 1880, the mimosa, originally from Australia, made its appearance on the Côte d'Azur. In 1964, running water arrived in the village of Tanneron. Clinging to hillsides planted with mimosa, strawberries, flowers, heather, olive trees, pines, chestnut trees and cork oaks, the commune of Tanneron is made up of 22 hamlets. The cultivation of mimosa throughout the Tanneron area is now one of the finest treasures of this charming commune. These fluffy, bright yellow, fragrant little balls are beautiful to see in their natural environment. Tanneron is located at km 112 of the Route du Mimosa. > STARTING POINT Free parking in the village of Tanneron - Hikers' car park or at the church. Departure: Tourist Office GPS coordinates: 43.590748, 6.875309 > ITINERARY A - Place de la Maire Panoramic view over the Alpes-Maritimes from Grasse to the Bay of Cannes. The square is home to a typical Provencal café dating from 1865. A little anecdote: Georges Clémenceau, MP for Var, is said to have stayed there in 1889! Opposite it, a water tank dating back to 1888 supplied the townspeople before water was pumped from the River Siagne in 1964. Behind the town hall, you can admire a pretty square and its fountain, renovated in 1997. Cross the square in the direction of the war memorial, built in 1921, continue along the Chemin de la Grille and turn left into the Carreiros district. B - Carreiros district / A little history View over the Bay of Cannes and the Mediterranean Sea. Continue along a dirt track where you turn right around the Colle d'Embarque district to access the walk through the mimosa plantations. At the end of the path, rejoin the tarmac track and take the dirt track on the left, Touordam (towards the municipal stadium) as far as the junction with the DFCI track: Touordam. On the road leading to the stadium, turn right and continue along the dirt track. Follow the signposts on the track around the village towards Notre-Dame de Peygros. C - The church of Notre-Dame de Peygros The church is located at the top of the hill where the view takes in Lake Saint-Cassien, Mont-Lachens (1,714 metres), Grasse and the village of Tanneron. The small Peygros chapel, now a church, was enlarged by its inhabitants between 1839 and 1844. Everyone contributed to the renovation by making their own contribution. The chevet has a semicircular apse and the faade is flanked by the square bell tower with its two bells, financed by local residents. From the church, head towards the Hubert Rouaud school, built in 1972. At the junction with the D38, turn right towards the village. Blavet is a tributary, of the Argens River. The river begins its journey in Bagnols-en-Forêt and flows into the Argens. Carved into red volcanic rocks made from rhyolite , the Gorges du Blavet offers some beautiful geological features such as cave Muréron., a one of the major rock climbing sites in the Var.

A path open to all, in a typical landscape of the high Grasse area. This route crosses vast wooded limestone plateaus. From Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne, go up the road of Saint-Vallier-de-Thiey for 1.5 km to the bus shelter " des redonnets ". 1- Take a right on the small paved road for 100 m and turn left to reach another small road. Continue on a wide stony path marked 27. 2- Go down slightly to the left on another track and continue on the marked stony path (PR) to go back on a grassland area. 3- fork to the right and get to the beacon 28. Then deviate slightly on the right via the beacon 29. Go back down a pebble road and join the small village of Saint-Cézaire-sur-Siagne through small paved roads.

The Panoramas of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and Cavalaire Bay lead you from the village of Gassin to La Croix-Valmer through forest and rural landscapes and beautiful views. This hiking trail takes up part of the GR 51 and offers splendid views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the Bay of Cavalaire, the Pays des Maures, and the villages Gassin and Grimaud.

From the hilltop village, the path leads you to the sea, offering remarkable views of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. You arrive at the Marines de Gassin and its shops passing near the Bourrian wineyard estate and the Stud / Polo Club. The return path is accessible to hikers, mountain bikers and riders who will appreciate the breathtaking view of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. This beautiful airy and shaded track offers you a glimpse of the diversity of the Gassin flora (pine forest, vineyard, oaks, broom, laurels). You can enjoy the beach and swimming (supervised in season) before your return. Practical information : In summer, be sure to inform yourself before your departure that the trail is not closed because of the fire risk (information on the Var prefecture website or at the tourist office). You will find a small watch on your route that you can bypass if necessary by taking a path a little further to the right. Also be careful during hunting not to take the trail if it is blocked. Be careful when crossing country roads without a protected passage. The path allows you to join the protected multimodal track to reach Port Grimaud on your left and Saint-Tropez on your right. Course: • from Place Louis Collomp, descend towards the cemetery and go around it on the left (passage in front of the monument to Saint Joseph) by following the sign "Villevieille"; • take the path on the left (50 m) then follow the Villevieille track; • follow this track for 2.5 kilometers (you pass near the Brûlat mill and then the Heraklée villa, former property of Gunther Sachs when it conquered the heart of Brigitte Bardot); • cross the Bourrian road and find a path a few meters on your left which, after a lookout, takes you to Chemin de la Plaine, through the vineyards of the Bourrian domain (1.15 km); • arrived at the RD98a near Interhome, follow the sidewalk on your right (170 m) (Note: the La Foux shopping center is on your left about 300 m). • turn left at the roundabout towards the Marines de Gassin (180 m); • at the second roundabout, go straight past the shops of the Marines de Gassin (Bar-tabac des Marines, Tour de Pizz ', Ciao Belli; on Place Le Pitchoun, Sandrée Coiffure, the May Flower laundromat) ; • you can then continue to the beach (200 meters on the right). You will find the Marines and the port of Cogolin on your left.

The Château de la Napoule is an ancient medieval fortress restored by a couple of American artists, Henry and Marie Clews, during the Roaring Twenties. The gardens classified as "remarkable" host works of artwork by artists. A bit of history: Built just by the sea in 1387 by the Counts of Villeneuve, the old military fort of La Napoule bears witness to a turbulent history: invasions, looting, wars and other revolutions. Halfruin, half bourgeois villa, it was bought in 1917 by Henry Clews, an American billionaire, painter and sculptor. Together with his wife Marie, they rebuilt the building from authentic remains, including the two towers and transformed it with its gardens into a dream and imaginary place. The maxim engraved on the pediment of the portal "once upon a time", announces the entrance into a fantastic world, where the art, humour and fantasy of its creators are written on the walls forever. Although Henry devoted himself to the castle's architecture and his artistic works, which can be seen in the castle museum, his wife was the architect of the gardens of the castle, which she designed with a talent that is still recognized today.
