The story of the Godène beer, which has a very typical Pays de Caux name since it is the old name for the milk churn that used to be pulled by donkeys in the Pays de Caux. “We are first and foremost dairy producers, but since our activity is becoming more and more fragile, we wanted to find a new complementary activity and we came up with the idea of trying to produce beer" they told us all together adding "the Godène is light and sweet, just like us, and is produced on our farm in Bennetot.”

The museum also gives visitors a chance to learn about the present day islands with whom the inhabitants of Grainville-la-Teinturière retain a special relationship.

Forty-five hectares (111 acres), in the heart of the Durdent Valley, between the villages of Le Hanouard and Grainville-la-Teinturière, consisting in meadows, woods and lakes: the Basses Eaux site offer a breath of fresh air and a green-space experience. Miraculously preserved over the years, it is home to numerous remarkable species of plants and animals. In addition to the typical flora and fauna you can usually see in the forest or around lakes and ponds, you will be able to see particularly rare and fragile species: orchids, bats and a wide range of invertebrates. The path around the wet meadows crosses the Durdent Valley Cycle Route and borders the lakes, where fish, insects, as well as herons and other animals of this ecosystem gather.

The beers of the "Brasserie du Phare" (Lighthouse Brewery) are rooted in the terroir of the Alabaster Coast with its fertile agricultural land and the delicate salty sea air. The Brasserie du Phare was created in Cany-Barville in 2019 and opened in May 2020. "But there is no lighthouse in Cany-Barville..." Well, now there is! And it will guide you to safety on a dark and foggy night. The lighthouse is the symbol of our brewery as it faces the elements with pride, just as we know how to prepare our ingredients and our recipes. But also because the lighthouse is a guide to young sailors as well as old sea dogs, just like our brewery is a community place to meet up and engage in conversation. The brewery sells its beers and offers guided tours to learn all about beer making.

The association "Bolbec, au fil de la mémoire" (Remember Bolbec) tells the flourishing history of the textile industry in Bolbec and its area through its Textile Museum and Workshop. Do not wait any longer and come and meet these passionate volunteers who will bring back to life these old machines from the past. On the premises of the former Desgenétais factory, a small group of passionate people, former textile workers, have recreated the whole production line. They will guide you and tell you all about the history and transformation of cotton, how the bale is turned into fibre, ribbon lap, sliver and then yarn. Part of this yarn is then wound onto a bobbin to make the weft and the other part is interlaced lengthwise to make warp yarns. The warp and the weft threads are then fed into the loom to create the woven fabric. There is also an exhibition area dedicated to "indiennes", printed cotton cloth that contributed to the development and prosperity of Bolbec that will tell you their story and the evolution of printing techniques as well as display remarkable examples found in the town's archives. To treat yourself or find a gift, come at the shop and see the handmade textile creations and brochures about the local history, all the pieces were made with love for the trade.
