During the hunting season the best days for a peaceful walk are Wednesdays and Fridays.

An exploration of the Marais de l’Enfer (marshes of hell) This path across the marshes and on the banks of the lake is accessible only on foot. It offers beautiful views over the reed beds and the lake as well as the surrounding mountains. Besides water and a snack, take a pair of binoculars if you enjoy birdwatching.

The Fournis loop will change you the shores of Lake Annecy and for you to ascend and admire a different landscape on a walk without much difficulty. It allows to focus on the villages overlooking the lake. The village of Saint-Eustache and its various hamlets will be the scene of your hike. Discover this mountain bike loop that follows and crosses the Laudon river several times. The route also offers views of the Roc des Bœufs and the Bornes massif overlooking Lake Annecy.

Pleasant path linking Leschaux to Saint-Eustache.

The route includes some vertiginous drops and is not recommended for children, inexperienced hikers or people who suffer from vertigo. This excursion does, however, offer some exceptional views, notably of Saint-Jorioz, Sevrier and Annecy, as well as the small lake and Mount Tournette, on descent of the Entrevernes mountains. This hiking itinerary has been established, in cooperation with the councils of the “Département” and of Greater Annecy, by a hiker who works for Lake Annecy Tourist Information Office. There is a cross erected on a rock that climbers and experienced hikers can climb up to, for the reward of a breathtaking panorama! The hike starts in the village of La Magne on the heights of Saint-Jorioz. From La Magne, take the road towards La Cochette, follow it to the end and park on La Tête car park.

The Semnoz Alpine Garden is a 1,500 m high portion of alpine pasture that has not been grazed for more than 50 years to preserve the typical flora of the alpine meadows. This area allows you to discover or revise the typical botany of the Alpine meadows. Each summer, more than 100 plant species are identified, labelled and highlighted.Trails are marked and autonomous games are installed on the site, enough to delight young and old. The Alpine Garden is open every day in summer time. Permanences are also held every Wednesday by an FNE74 employee to ensure the maintenance of the Alpine Garden and welcome nature lovers! In 2019 a comparative study on the floristic diversity between the Semnoz Alpine Garden and the meadows grazed nearby was carried out. The results indicate there is a significant gap in floristic diversity and plant covering between the scarcely maintained Alpine meadow and the regularly pastured one. Indeed, there were only 24 different floristic species identified on the grazed meadow while there were 62 on the Alpine Garden. Moreover, in the Alpine Garden 12 species represent more than 50% of the plant covering, compared to only 3 species in the grazed meadow.
