Pêche de Savoie from Barouchat lake

Pêche de Savoie from Barouchat lake

Located under the firns of the Grand-Arc, the lake of Barouchat (managed by the fishing federation of Savoy) is open during the whole year (2 periods of fishing). Food and beverage on site, possibility to rent fishing gear . Summer season: To exploit the lake's surface area, many anglers use bombs weighing between 20 and 30 g, bringing them more or less gently to the right depth while animating the bait. Buldo fishing can also be very effective. As for baits, the great classics (worms and moths) are a must, but the new multicoloured "extraterrestrial" pastes, sometimes a little unacademic, also give very good results. Beware: it's not uncommon to tempt trout weighing 3 to 4 kg, so bear this in mind when choosing your leader and when casting. All fishing seasons: Lures, bombs, spinning or fly-fishing, you'll have the choice and be able to vary the pleasures! Reservoir" season: Barouchat regulars will tell you that all techniques work: nymphs, dries and streamers. Nevertheless, the flies most often discussed are imitations of chironomid larvae and emergents, in dark or red hues, and black or blue flies for dries. For streamers, white works very well as a diving line, as does coral. Thanks to a groundwater supply, the water is filtered and remains clear and oxygenated. With a surface area of 4.5 ha and a maximum depth of 12 meters, the reservoir is a venue for national and international fly-fishing competitions. Every year, numerous anglers of all levels and backgrounds come to enjoy the joys of trout fishing at Barouchat. On the banks of the lake, the chalet and its reception staff offer a snack area, sanitary facilities, boats and float-tubes, fishing tackle and bait for relaxed fishing. Everything has been designed with the angler in mind (accessible to people with reduced mobility).

They reflect a philosophy based on cooperation, mutual aid, discussion and sharing. Our team is made up of mountain and environmental education professionals, driven by a shared passion for the mountain environment. We firmly believe that our profession as mountain guides, combined with other fields such as art, meditation, education, science and writing, can help children and young people to access an interiority that opens them up to themselves, to others and to the world as a whole. We offer all-inclusive holidays for schoolchildren and children's groups, including nature activities. The content of the stays is developed in advance with the educational team, according to themes and desires. Our teaching methods are based on experiential learning, enabling young people to discover nature in an active and immersive way. Our trips are suitable for pupils in cycles 1, 2, 3 and middle school, as well as for young people aged 6 to 17, in leisure centers, youth services, children's services...
