This very varied course combines the seaside and the fields and vineyards of the Piedmont de l'Albera. Follow the cycle path along the D81 on the left, in the direction of Argelès. Go over the blue bridge of Riberette and go along the Le Littoral campsite. At the Luna Park roundabout, continue straight on on the coastal road. At the next roundabout, turn left towards Boulevard de la Méditerranée, while staying on the cycle path. At the end of the boulevard, continue straight on a gravel passage, between two buildings and continue to the seaside promenade. Continue to the left on this promenade which runs along the beach, to the left. Immediately after, turn right. The cycle path runs alongside a one-way street on the left and the Massane river on the right. Pass under the bridge and continue among the pine trees. Climb back up the road and now cross Route de Palau (D11). Turn right (traffic calming). Turn left to join Chemin de la Petite Gabarre, then turn left again. Next, turn right to reach Chemin de la Gavarra Baixa. Connection with the Albères loop – ‘Crafts of yesterday and today’ – starts here. After the ‘washing station’ for farm machinery, turn right and continue straight ahead. After crossing a ford, cross Avenue des Baléares (take great care here, cars drive fast and visibility is poor!), then continue straight across another ford. To follow the EV8, turn left to rejoin the paved cycle path 200 m further on (or continue straight into the village centre of Saint-Genis-des-Fontaines to see the famous lintel and, if you wish, visit the cloister). Follow the path and the ground markings to Montesquieu. From here, you may continue your ride towards Le Boulou.

An ideal walk to do with the family. From the Luna Park parking lot, you have two options.First option: Head north, cross the Equinoxe campsite, ford the stream, and you will find access to the Mas Larrieu nature reserve. The Argelès-sur-Mer tourist office offers guided walks. Additionally, information panels on the dune discovery trail are accessible year-round, explaining the management, history, flora, and fauna of this protected coastal site. To join the coastal path, simply follow the shore southward. Cross the mouth of the Riberette River and continue towards Argelès beach. Second option: Head to your right towards Argelès-sur-Mer. Leave the road to walk along the leisure park and the Riberette on your left, which flows into the sea a bit further on. A first ford allows you to cross a ditch. Follow the path briefly winding through the undergrowth, where a second reed-lined ford awaits you. Once out of the shade, take the road to the right, then head to the beach on your left, passing along the Marende parking lot. Now, continue to the right with your feet in the sand. Be mindful of the vegetation growing here and there, as it helps to maintain the beach! In the depression known as "Tamariguer," take the walk under the pine trees. Dotted with signs describing notable sites, it will naturally lead you to the port. Cross the Massane River via the bridge, and take the left along the quays, welcoming fishermen and boaters. The Força Vella section of the ramparts was a military construction of decisive importance right from the times of the Roman precint (1bC). During the second half of the 14th century, this defensive rampart was thoroughly rebuilt at the initiative of Peter III the Ceremonious. The medieval fortification rested on the natural rock that rose a few meters above the sandy banks of the river Onyar.  It was an improvement over the old Roman wall which was used as a foundation, made into a double wall or even, in some sections, actually replaced by the new wall. From the early years of the 16th century, the walled precinct was absorbed into the city and the walls, by becoming features actually standing in the city, lost their military defensive value. This situation brought on the star of their deterioration, as parts of the walls were gradually altered from the inside and the outside to meet the needs of the people living alongside the fortification, by which time the former defensive construction had become an enormous party wall.  

Discovery of an exceptional natural environment At an altitude of 850 m, this chasm is about 60m by 30m and is accessible thanks to a platform of vision for a visit in full safety. It is the abyss of both absorption and collapse. The total depth reaches about 110m. This hole was a mass grave. When the horses were at the end of their life, their owner took them to this chasm. We guess then why this hole was prized crows.

One can, without fear of being accused of exaggeration, describe Fontestorbes as "Wonder of the World" and contrary to the seven wonders of the ancient world, all having in common to be the fact of the man, Fontestorbes is the only fruit of the chance of nature. On the other hand, during periods of low water from July to September, one day, it becomes abruptly intermittent over a complete cycle of about 60 to 90 minutes.
