Croix-de-Culet - Lapisa - Le Pont - Champéry

Description

This itinerary traverses flowering alpine pastures, called alpages, in search of authentic Swiss alpine terroir and tradition.

The Champéry cable-car whisks you effortlessly to the Croix de Culet, located at an altitude of 2,000 metres. As you leave the cable car arrival station, take a moment to admire the picturesque vista spread out before you, with the magnificent Dents du Midi and Dents Blanches mountain ranges creating a spectacular backdrop. Then, drawn by the chime of distant cowbells, take the winding path that leads through sunny pastures, past the quaint Lapisa and La Pierre alpine farms, where you can stop for a bite to eat.

Good to know: at the Lapisa and La Pierre farms, you can watch a traditional cheese-making demonstration.

Cantine Lapisa

With fresh air and spectacular views in abundance, this quaint high-altitude farm is also a restaurant and alpine gite, serving homemade local delicaciesIn winter, the Lapisa is one of our favourite on-piste stops for a hot drink on the snowy terrace, or for a delicious fondue in the snug restaurant. Our menu offers a selection of delicious local specialities, including sausages, fondue, cured meats, fruit tarts, and our renowned Lapisa alpine cheese. In summer, in addition to the mountain restaurant, the Lapisa goes back to being a real, working farm. Visitors can observe us milking the cows and goats and get a peek at the cheesemaking process. This is a fascinating look at one of the Val d'Illiez's most important economic activities! You can even take home a taste of the Alps with a scrumptious souvenir. At the alpage, we sell our speciality cheeses, tommes, cheese curds, and sausages.
