Jongieux vineyard

A vineyard covering 250 hectares, largely huddled around the village of Joncieux, situated between the river Rhône and the Mont de la Charvaz. It stretches between the villages of Billième, Jongieux, Lucey, St Jean de Chevelu and Yenne.
The vineyard stretches between 250 meters and 500 meters in altitude. This terroir, with its many subtle facets, is dotted with small hamlets and villages. Three appellations are produced here: Jongieux, Marestel, and Monthoux. The white grape varieties include Altesse (also called Roussette), Chardonnay, and Jacquère ; the red grape varieties include Mondeuse, Gamay, and Pinot.
