Montemboeuf sentier du petit mairat

Ce sentier rappelle par son nom le patrimoine ferroviaire de la commune. Le chemin de fer économique dont Paul Mairat (1865-1924) élu charentais était un ardent défenseur, passait par le tracé de la D16, que suit ce chemin. Les randonneurs pourront notamment voir le château d’eau, qui servait autrefois à remplir les cuves d’eau du petit train vapeur.

The name of this path reminds us of the railway heritage of the commune. The economic railroad, of which Paul Mairat (1865-1924), an elected representative of Charente, was an ardent defender, passed along the D16, which this path follows. Hikers will be able to see the water tower, which was once used to fill the water tanks of the small steam train.
