What is an Espace Naturel Sensible?
Espaces Naturels Sensibles (ENS) are outstanding natural sites, recognised for their ecological wealth and biodiversity. Located in coastal, forest or wetland environments, they are managed specifically to preserve their balance while allowing the public to discover them.
These areas have several objectives:
- to preserve landscapes and remarkable sites
- to protect fauna, flora and natural habitats
- to encourage the public to visit them in an environmentally-friendly way
