Saint Barthélémy church

The town of Chauconin-Neufmontiers was badly affected by the battles of September 1914.
The town was devastated and the church of Neufmontiers was transformed into a makeshift hospital during the battle, with the altar being used as a surgery table. The church is full of overwhelming scriptures, written in pencil on the walls, affliction testimonies left by harmed French soldiers.
